I feel the excitement in this room!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi Longhorn, I am taking off work tomorrow to calm down before the big day on Thursday. I think I'll clean my house, wash my sheets, etc. I need to go over my list and see what's missing. I know there is a flexible ice pack on there that I don't have. Do you know what that's for? I have to be at Journey Lite at 9:30 a.m. and surgery is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. I guess we'll leave the house about 8:00 a.m. What about you, are you excited?? Nervous? Sorry I didn't write sooner, I have been so busy at work trying to catch up so I could be gone a week. I am scheduled to go back to work on the 7th. I hope I'm feeling okay by then, I didn't tell many people about this surgery, they just think I'm on vacation. Later, Bobbi

I too suffer from panic attacks. I went to my favorite health food store (not a GNC or VITAMIN WORLD kinda place) and asked them what they would recommend. There is a capsule (that can be opened easily and put in a drink) called HAPPY CAMPER and there was also some liquid in a small bottle with a dropper called KAVA KAVA. Actually the HAPPY CAMPER has KAVA KAVA in it. It calms you down. I haven't tried any yet but I know will want to when I go for my first fill. I would just suggest you ask your local health food store about it.

I mix my Unjury with water. I especially like the chicken soup!!

I'm having mine done Nov 1 and I haven't told but a few people. I don't want everyone at work asking me a bunch of questions, watching how and what I eat, etc. I just took a week vacation off and hope I'm okay enough to go back to work when I said I would. Laura, I have the same fear of my DH and the money thing too. He has been acting weird, not saying much but a couple of times he made little remarks about the money. If it works well for me he will be thrilled but if I have problems or don't loose very much it will come up when he's in one of his moods. I don't really care right now I just need to do this. He'll have to get over it. Good luck and I bet we all will do just fine since we have each other. Bobbi

I called my doctors office last week to ask which band he used. I was told the Inamed Band and that it was the only one that was approved right now. That doesn't sound right because so many people are mentioning other bands. Maybe that was what the nurse was told to say if anyone asked. Does anyone know the truth about this? I guess I don't really care which one he uses because I trust and like him and his whole staff, and all the Journey Lite staff as well. Just wondering what you have heard.

Mom of Chuy replied to Graceful One's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Jennye, Nice to meet you - welcome to our home away from home. Good luck on your journey! Bobbi -
Nice to meet you Longhorn. You were lucky enough to beat me to Texas. I didn't make it here until 1981, from California. I married a guy that was originally from Fowler Colorado but raised in Duncanville, Texas. What a hoot! Hopefully we will stay in touch. Later. Bobbi

I'm on day 3 - Small meal for Breakfast, AmazeRx for lunch, Lean meat & green vegetable for dinner, one more AmazeRx to top off the night. Longhorn - I see your from Texas too. I'm north of Houston, by the Huntsville Prisons. Your area is very beautiful. I just got back from Medina Lake in the Hill country a few weeks ago. Spent a week in the Thousand Trails feeding the deer. I just loved it. I also noticed that you have the same surgery date and your in my age bracket - Cool. Good luck to you! Bobbi

Had my preop appointment with the nurse. Signed on all the dotted lines and I am scheduled for Nov. 1. I believe I have to see a nutritionist before surgery but don't know when. I guess I need to have someone take a before picture of me too. I am officially on my third day of my diet and I agree, It will be a long two weeks. Good luck everyone! Bobbi

Hi Sherry, Great! Where is the doctor going to do it? Conroe or Journey Lite? I am on my pre-op diet this week. I went by his office yesterday to buy some more Protein drink. I now have chocolate and strawberry. I would love to talk to you some day. Good luck to you! Bobbi

Wow - You give me hope. I am to be banded this November (one year behind you) I have a horrible double chin and I am ready for it to be gone. BTW - I have parrots also - Greenwing, Grey & Caique Thanks for the pictures. Bobbi

Patty, You are doing just what I am. I didn't have to start my preop until Oct 18 but I decided to start it early (the 15th). I have been saying that I am in practice for the real thing. I agree on the mindset if you are a self pay person. If my insurance was to cover it I don't think I would be as serious about my choices. Not that I wouldn't be serious because it is no matter what, but it is coming out of my pocket so it means more to me. Good luck! Bobbi

Got my okay from my primary and did all my lab work. I have kinda started my pre-op diet today. I really don't have to start until Thursday but I am practicing now LOL. Hi Nessa - I know you are scheduled when I am, have you started your diet yet? Getting excited and nervous at the same time. Went to my first support group last week and met some very nice ladies. I suggested starting a clothes swap thing, I hope that will take off.:kiss

Mom of Chuy replied to abckids's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so happy for you ABC. My new birthday will be November 1. The number one thing I am terified of is nausea. Was the bracelet part of your doctors thing or did you purchase one elsewhere? Congratulations on your new life. Bobbi:nervous -
I am fairly new myself - Welcome and Good luck to you. :clap2:

I read somewhere that we shouldn't have any caffeine for three months after the band is placed. Does this sound right? Is everyone drinking decaf??? I will miss my real coffee. Thanks, Bobbi:ranger:

I have not been banded yet but November 1 it is scheduled. I am 54 years old and am not concerned about the age thing. There is a thread of over 50 people that made me feel better about that. Just keep reading a lot and try and stay away from the negative ones. If I find that someone is wineing I stop reading, I don't need that right now. I have already made my mind up and all I want to read is positive things. Most people are very happy about their band after the first couple of months, that's what I am living for today. Good luck:D, I am right behind you.

I'm sooooooooo excited to see others with my Nov 1 date!! Good luck everyone. I am going to try and order the book Lap-Band for Life. Does anyone have it already? Bobbi

Laurend, I am so happy to read your post. So many are negative and I need positive right now. I will be banded soon and am trying to read as much as I can. I want to feel just like you described when I'm there. Thank you!

Hi Goldie, Susan & Michee, So glad to hear from all of you. I don’t feel so all alone. I have been having a hard time slowing down on the food since I set the date. I feel like I have to do it now because I won’t be able to soon. I know that’s wrong, I need to get my body ready for this. Wow Michee—you are doing great! I hope I do as well as you. Goldie, you are only a week later than I for the band. I don’t believe 48 should be considered a bad age to do this. It is not a waste of money! I am 54 and know I want to live with a greater quality of life than I have been for the past 10 years. Susan, where do you live in Houston? I use to live in Friendswood and now I am north of Conroe in Willis. Later gang, Bobbi
