Kendra, You are welcome to stay at my house when you go to M.D. Anderson. I live in Willis, north of Conroe, if you know where that is. Let me know if you would like to do that, anytime. Bobbi Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say unto you, What things ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

For the last five years I have been going to an Ophthalmologist every six months because he wanted to keep a close eye on me because he saw what could become Glaucoma. Today was the day, he said “this is interesting,” my pressure went from 16 down to 11, which I now know is good. He told me there has been a discovery that this happens with people with Lap Bands. They don’t know why, “it’s a mystery.” He said that it happens as soon as six weeks after surgery before the patient even has time to loose much weight. Well, mystery or not, I’m happy it happened to me.

Has anyone had this problem?
Mom of Chuy replied to Leah Peets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was banded four months ago, have lost 33 pounds, was a little constipated for a short time until I figured out I wasn't drinking enough water. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! I wish I had done it when I was 35 years old (never heard about it then), I am now 54. I am very excited about my band. I am sure I would have lost more weight by now but I really eat bad stuff sometimes, like chocolate this weekend (I am feeling guilty right now) Bobbi -
I got my BioTrainer BioTrainer Weight Loss System - measure physical activity and caloric burn yesterday but I haven't signed up for the web thing yet. I will wear mine while I work out tomorrow and see how I like it. Bobbi

Luluc - thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. I wouldn't want anything around my arm all day long either. I actually have had my BioTrainer on all day today and forgot about it being there. I think it will serve my purpose too.

Mom of Chuy replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Does anyone here know the difference in the BodyBugg and the BioTrainer? (Not ActiTrainer) I just received my BioTrainer and am now wondering about the BodyBugg. -

I received my BioTrainer yesterday. It looks pretty cool, only $50.00. I will try it for the first time today. I will let you know about that one. Go to BioTrainer Weight Loss System - measure physical activity and caloric burn to check it out. Bobbi -
Thank you - I will go and do it right now. Have a better week! Bobbi

My best friend in the whole world lives in Sacramento. I am from Southern Cal. Born in L.A. and lived mostly in Anaheim & San Fernando Valley. Moved away from there in 1981 to Texas. I actually lived in Hawaii for awhile too, Hilo. Bye for now, Have fun in Hawaii.

Longhorn, I've been out of touch for awhile and just got on here and read your situation. I am going to put you on my prayer chain if that's okay with you. I will keep checking this thread when I get time. Good Luck! Bobbi

I'm glad I could help. Thats a good idea giving yourself some time before you leave. By the way, I'm jealous of you and your California. I am originally from there and get home sick quite often. Where do you live? Bobbi

Well then, it is a good sign, really, that you can eat more right now because it means that you are loosing fat around the band. You probably do need a fill and you may feel the same as you did after the last fill. I have felt the same way, but I am learning how to eat. It is not easy eating slowly for me. I have never been a fast eater but I really, really have to eat slow now. If I think about it and take tiny bites and slow down, I am fine. I am getting ready to get my fourth fill this next Friday, March 7. I also have the 10cc band and I have right now 6.2 ccs in there according to my little card. I could hardly eat anything without getting stuck or even throwing up for a couple of weeks after my third fill. But now, I can eat lots, but only if I go easy. I probably didn't help you much, but only that you know you are not alone. Good luck!

Sometimes I eat instant oatmeal, or cottage cheese with fruit, or protein drink with a banana in it.

Aggie, I was constipated too. I wasn't drinking enough water. Plus, I add Benefiber to something I drink when I feel it coming on again. Benefiber has a good tasting chewable now too. Bobbi -
I know people have probably been asking you this, but are you sure you are drinking enough water?? I was having problems like you and someone suggested that to me and since I drink more now, I am all better. It has something to do with water in your muscles.
-
Are you going to any support group or nutritionist. Both have helped me make better choices on what I put in my mouth. Talk to your doctor about your problem. Good luck to you!
-
Angie, Have you posted your idea in the recipes section? Any other place? I know others would be interested, probably lots of people would be. Bobbi
-
I would love to be included - if the books are printed I will probably get at least six for my support group. Thanks for the great idea!!! Jaunderwood - Look, we have almost the same signature/pics - What a hoot! Bobbi

Don't know for sure but the pineapple juice enzymes is the magic I have been told. Breaks down the food quicker. -
I am also from Texas - Willis which is north of Houston, north of Conroe where I work and just south of Huntsville. I was banded in November and have had three fills. I never feel a thing, completely painless. The PA at JourneyLite who does my fills is the greatest. I have lost 32 lbs so far and I have no regrets doing this. Congratulations to you all and good luck with the rest of your journey. Bobbi

I got my third fill last Friday and found out I have now lost a total of 32 lbs. What a nice feeling! I ate tonight (Sunday) for the first time since early Friday morning with no problems, just ate extra slow and small bites.

My back was hurting really bad, the lower back. It was because I was not drinking enough water. I am trying to drink more but I haven't been able to get in all I need. I will keep trying.

Hi Vanessa, It's been awhile since I have posted too. I will go for my third fill this Friday. I felt restriction for a few weeks after my second but now in the evening I want to eat, eat, eat. I also have the small band. My first fill I got 1.5 cc and my second fill I got 1.0 cc. Later, Bobbi
