What is an appropriate goal weight, really?
Mom of Chuy replied to starryeyed's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I believe your goal weight should be a personal decision. It really depends on how you feel, still have energy, don't look sickly. Your doctor may have been setting a high goal weight to see how you would do along the way, then he could change it later. I think my doctor is a little upset with me because I haven't reached mine but I am happy the way my weight loss is going - not too fast. I'm okay with it even if he is not. It is my life and I paid for my band, he didn't. -

I think it's just personal preference. I like the taste of Centrum more so that's the one I take (just one). -
Does someone have an iced tea recipe?
Mom of Chuy replied to elcee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can take any tea (or coffee) after it is cooled down completely, put a small amount sweetened creamer of your choice (I use sugar free hazelnut), fill a glass with tea and the creamer, ice cubes, it's great. -
Good to see your post - I haven't been around in awhile but wanted to check in on you. I'm jealous of your trip. I am originally from California and miss it so much! Have a great time. Bye for now, Bobbi in Willis, Texas

someone please help!
Mom of Chuy replied to sirvine89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be just fine. There are a lot more people out there that have no complaints than people that have complaints about not loosing, etc. Just do everything the doctor tells you and don't eat ice cream. Good luck! -
Should people barely over 200 lbs or below 200 get Lapband or any WLS...?
Mom of Chuy replied to Froggi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Of course it's okay!!!!! I know more people in the smaller category that had it done than larger people. Glad I did it and have no regrets! -
Tightness when not even eating??
Mom of Chuy replied to Ebeth0013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like gas to me too. I really believe those Gas-X strips help but get this . . . the last time I was at the surgery center, one of the girls that work there said that walking is the only thing that really works. She said that Gas-X strips don't work because it is a different kind of gas that is causing the problem. She thinks that it is in our minds that the strips work and that's okay as long as something works. I'm not sure I really believe that because the strips helped me! -

Mom of Chuy replied to heidismiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is right, hang in there, you'll see. It's like magic after the first or even second fill. I actually feel as though I just reached my sweet spot and I have had five fills - yes I said 5 fills. I really never started loosing much until after my second fill, but look out now! You will be okay! -
Kendra, I have not been around lately and was sure glad to hear some good news from you!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up and I'll keep praying. Bobbi

Should I get an unfill or try to wait it out?
Mom of Chuy replied to TaraLindsey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Let me tell you . . . I had a big problem with my last fill a couple of weeks ago. I could not even keep water down. I kept drinking hot coffee thinking that would be okay but what I was doing (didn't know at the time) was making things spasm in there. When I finally called the doctor he told me not to drink hot or cold, then I was a little better. I did go in for a unfill after three days - boy was that a relief. I would call the doctor right away if I were you. Good luck!! -
Does everyone get a shot in the stomach?
Mom of Chuy replied to MissieLyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will hardly notice when it happens. It is just a tiny sting. Don't worry!!! You have enough bigger things to think about. You will love your band!!! Good luck! -
Kendra, Those brownies are the best - I will come join you, just let me know where and when. Hang in there!! You sure sound good. Bobbi

PB means "Productive Burp" it is when you either eat too fast, too much, the wrong food, you have to basically burp the food up (throw up) but it is not really like the throw up you would have if you have the stomach flu. Once you do that you feel much better. White bread does it to me, so I don't do that anymore. If I wait too long to eat and I am really hungry I tend to eat too big a bite or eat too fast and then it happens to me. I really have gotten better now and think before I eat. -

Hi Dee Dee, My goal is 100 lbs also. I was banded in November and have lost around 40 pounds so far. I think Gastric Bypass is too radical for only 100 pounds, that's why I went with the Band. I have had four fills so far, which by the way is a piece of cake, no pain whatsoever for me. I had one fill a month starting in December . . . my last fill being on March 7th. I do not feel like I need another fill for awhile. My doctor told me that with my size band (the small one, 10 cc) the fourth fill usually does it for awhile, he was right I think. You still get hungry but it doesn't require a lot of food to satisfy the hunger. As far as paying for fills, everywhere is different. I do not have to pay for any fills because the surgery center where I got it done, Journeylite, does not require it since I got it done there. But I do know people that did not get there surgery done there that pay around $150.00, but I think that varies too. I hope I helped along with everyone elses input. Good Luck!!! -
Suebaby, Where did you find them? What is the name?
-
Hi - I go to Dr. Collier and I think he is great! I had my surgery done at JourneyLite on November 1st. I love Dr. Collier's PA too, she does all the fills there and she does a sweet fill! I know several people that use them and have heard no complaints.

Lynne, You don't even have to go to Edit Signature - just double click on your Ticker right from this thread and it will open so you can change it. Hopefully you remember your pin number. I forgot mine once and had to start over with a new one though. Since then I bought myself a little password book that I just love. I have soooooooooo many passwords and can't possibly remember them. -
Kendra, Just wanted you to know I am still thinking of you and keeping you on my prayer chain. Let me know if you need any additional visitors when you are in Houston and I will be there. Bobbi

I found a liquid that is not too bad. It is Nordic Naturals ARCTIC COD LIVER OIL Omega-3 Supplement in STRAWBERRY and PEACH flavors, maybe more. The only thing is you need something to chase the after effects of the oil close by. It's not really that bad.

Does anyone use the BioTrainer (Denise Austin's)? I would just like to know the difference in the BioTrainer and the BodyBugg. Thanks for any advise. I just received the BioTrainer and now reading about BodyBugg. The BioTrainer was much cheaper but maybe the quality is too. Or, BodyBugg may have more options. ?????

Kendra, FYI - MD Anderson is about a one hour drive (60 miles) from my house. Bobbi
