I had my sleeve surgery on April 14. I had it here in New Jersey with Advance Lapriscopic In. Paramus NJ. I would never go over seas for any surgical procedure. Being in the nursing field also. My dr is the head of the bariatric department at a major trauma center here. He did 990 sleeves last year and not one issue. I had 3 friends who were sleeved by him also. Whoops.. Dr Hans Schmidtt

I agree with sa1976. Motrin can cause stomach bleeding. And with those staples internal your asking for problems. I'm also in nursing and I was advised against it. Even weeks after my surgery. I'm 9 weeks out and have lost 40 pounds.

Gosh I'm in week 9 last 40 or so and I just this week started to eat a small portion of steak. I still had a hard time with it. I can't imagine eating timat 3 weeks.

1/2 cup of cottage cheese is 3 ounces if I'm not mistaken. I eat a lot of it through out the week. I also make egg salad with one egg and ear it with about 8 wheat thins and I'm stuffed. -

Two weeks out I could eat maybe 2 teaspoons of black beans. A whole can would have made my stomach hurt. -
I forced down a half bottle of that Isopure. Could not do anymore after that.
-
I could not stand the taste of the Isopure. Every time I tried to drink it I would gag. I ended up throwing the 4 bottles I got away. I know I had a lot of Popsicles in that two week period. My. Dr told me not to stress over getting the protien in. I'm 8 weeks post surgery and have lost 40 pounds. As long as I get my liquid, protein and vitamins in everything else comes with time.

You can get saline removed from your band so it's not so tight. I have a sleeve myself. My friend had the band and had a hard time eating protein or anything for that matter. She had to have the saline reduced because she was malnourished . Her and I work together as nurses. My surgery was April 14 I'm down 38 lbs

HELP! Soft food phase diet
OGmom3122 replied to AliciaRenee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't eat noodles yet. You can have pastina, cottage cheese, creamed spinach, cream soups, grits, protein shakes, apple sauce. Refried beans, cream of wheat. I mixed the creamed spinach with the scrambled eggs. I also baked a lot of potatoes to make mashed potatoes. I just started phase 3 where they introduce like chicken and tuna salad. I made meatballs in my oven during this phase. I also got a nice piece of Cod and baked it in my oven. I added cheese to my refined beans this stage too. I hope I helped some -

Chewable Gasx is ok to have. I had terrible gas and that's what my surgeon told me to take.
