I am doing well according to my doctor and I feel so much better! I am gaining muscle by taking classes at the ymca and so far have lost 107 pounds since pre diet. Since heaviest I have lost 139 pounds. How's everyone else doing?
-
I an almost three weeks post op and I notice that when I have soups made with milk ore drink milk that shortly afterwards I am very nauseous. I don't get sick but I feel terrible for about an hour. I have never had any food allergies never had any milk problems but that is the only thing I can think of that has these nauseous times in common with each other. Yogurt doesn't sit well in my stomach either, and cheese is about 50/50. Anyone else have this issue?

So far its getting worse each day! I am going to cut all dairy from my diet and see if it gets better soon. -
My husband got his gastric bypass surgery on may 29th and was doing really well until we got home. Now he has a lot of pain on his left side under his belly button. He can't sit to long or walk. He is still on strong pain meds. Any advice? Doctor said its his abdominal wall because it was decently large and time helps but he has about one more week to get back to work which is a mildly physical job. Any advice?

Yeah even after surgery with no hunger pains I didn't like the clear liquids. So I feel ya! It's worth it though!

Everyone does. Just check and see what your diet is and what it should be. I know ny husband has similar issues not losing weight and he seen his dietician and she said he actually wasn't eating enough. He needed 800-900 calories and at least 60 grams of Protein. Or else his body was going into starvation mode where it holds on to calories and Water and you can gain weight or not lose. Our bodies are amazing at what they can do. If you really are always exhausted check in with your doctor your body maybe telling you something is wrong.... best wishes

What is the #1 food you'll miss?
maizeashley replied to Amour.de.lionne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my surgery Thursday. That morning before surgery they checked my temperature, blood pressure, and had me take a pregnancy test. That was it. I signed my papers and they gave me some meds to relax rolled me back to or told me I was going under then I woke up when someone called my name. Now they still are watching my blood pressure temperature and blood oxygen levels every fee hours and while on iv fluids they measured how much a peed butt that's it. My husband had surgery and her is diabetic shi he also had his blood sugar levels taken every fee hours. Rally it's not bad and right now I don't miss any food! -
What is the #1 food you'll miss?
maizeashley replied to Amour.de.lionne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a horrible addiction to sweets like ice cream and cake. I think that's what I will miss. Might one day be able to have sugar free version but after surgery I dont want to do that stuff because it will just bring to many calories and temptation to return to my old ways. -
Give your opinion to tell or not
maizeashley replied to New Me 787's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different and telling or not depends on your relationship with the person you want to tell. At first I wasn't sure who I wanted to tell. I wanted my parents and in laws knowing and then a few close friends. Now I have it on my Facebook and count down for everyone to see. My husband has surgery on May 29th and I have surgery on June 19th, three weeks apart. I did need the accountability for my carb and sugar addiction, plus I wanted my friends that I am always going out to eat with to understand why I will not be going anymore. I also wanted my ladies church group to know and plan some physical activities and stuff instead of just dinners, Snacks, ice cream nights ect. And they have! So telling has benefited us. Good luck to us all! -
Hello I am new on here. Today is my first time finding this app thanks to my sister. My husband is having surgery May 29th and I have it June 19th. Our pre surgery diet is small foods like yogurt and fruit, 3 oz of meat, cottage cheese and protein shakes. Plus lots of liquids. We get snacks like pickles and sugar free jello. I think I will like that better than all liquid. Good luck to us all!
