I'm about 3 months post-op and I had my first fill about a month ago, going for my second fill next tuesday. I have been noticing the area near my access port has been more sore than usual for the last week or so. I tried to feel around to see if I could pin-point the pain so I could tell my doctor. I noticed my access port felt like it was really high up, like a few inches above where it normally is and I freaked out a little bit and felt around some more. Then I felt where my access port actually is and I realized that I have a small round lump about the size of my access port just a few inches above it. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? My friend who is a nurse said it might be scar tissue but it's not really near my incision sites. It's not near my stomach either. My port is located to the left and slightly above my belly button and this bump is a few inches above that. Any experience in this area would ease my anxiety until tuesday!

Numbness in upper left leg
g0rbinx replied to Tinaree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded for almost 4 weeks now. I had the same experience. Laying on your back for a long time, especially in the hospital bed, can cause nerves to get pinched. I developed a pinched nerve that made my whole upper left thigh go numb with burning sensations under the skin. It would wake me up and I would just be in pain in my leg until I got off my back. Try sleeping with a pillow under your knees if you sleep on your back or if you sleep on your side put the pillow between your knees. That helped me a lot. Hope you find some relief soon! Good luck! -
I was banded on April 17th so I'm about a little over 3 weeks post-op and everything has been fine up until about 4 days ago when I started feeling this terrible pain around my belly button. My access port is two inches above my belly button and 4 inches to the left. When I'm sitting or when I stand up I get this sharp pain going from my belly button to about the closest stitch next to it. It feels like a needle being pushed through my belly button toward my incision. Does anyone have any experience or advice about this? I did some research and I believe I might be experiencing internal stitches being pulled along my muscle tissue but I'm not sure. Any thoughts would provide some comfort; this is the first surgery I've ever gotten.

So I went to the doctor on Friday (same day I posted initially) and he said that nothing seems wrong after he checked me out. He suggested that I stay in bed and rest for the weekend and take my pain meds which I did Saturday but couldn't on Sunday because of mother's day. But I went to visit my boyfriend's mom on Sunday and she's a massage therapist. She suggested that I try to stretch my back to elongate my abdomen. She said it might be because I'm sitting and slouching because of the pain that the scar tissue is forming and is condensed and stretching might help to alleviate that tightness. So I did that all Sunday and a majority of today and so far the pain is minimal compared to how it was last week. I hope my story helps someone else who has a similar issue! Thanks for your advice as well!
