Hey everyone, Name is Brian. I have had the lap band for about 3 years now. I lost 50 pounds in the first 3 months with the band. In the last 2.5+ years I have not lost any weight in some cases I maybe gained a few. I have a 10cc band and have 9cc`s currently in my band. No restriction. You would think that not loosing weight is the worst part. But its not. No matter how little I eat. No matter how well I chew my food. I am constantly throwing up, It has had serious Psychologically hurting implications. I am self medicating with alcohol on a constant basis and I am constantly thinking about going back to smoking methamphetamine's to loose weight. I have survived through drug induced heart attacks(2) and I have also survived a shooting 1 bullet in my side and 2 in my stomach, and I dont think I have ever felt lower then I feel now. Lots of people know I had the Lap Band and I am always the center of Jokes that I dont know how much more I can take. Is their any RESTART that I could do? Like Open my band all the way and fast to shrink everything ? Like you would restart your computer when it is running slow. I also need a doctor Local to Los Angeles where I live. Who is caring and will help me. My doctor is about 3 hours from Los Angeles and its too much to go up their and even when I am up their he has little advice to give me. PLEASE HELP.

My goal in the future is to be playing College Hockey. I asked my doctor about this since I will be getting hit and hitting other people. He told me that My head would fall off before the band lol. And gave me the go for it. -

Yesterday. I was chewing on some fish that I had put in the blender to soften it even more. And It felt like it got stuck in my chest. I tried to drink Water but it wouldnt let me swallow, I even couldnt swallow my spit. I almost went to the hospital and then it gave a little bit. What the heck was it? Also what is PBing mean? And how do you know if your clogged? Thanks in Advanced Brian -

I had my Surgrey on the 10th of October. No Fills. Doctor said White Soft Fish was okay. I dont know what it was But my stomach has been hurting a little bit. I think its alot mental too. I dont want to get blockage or a nything like that. I will go on liquids the next few days. And Maybe some yogurt or pudding. -
Sometimes Doctors dont give agressive fills because making the $$ that they charge for the Fills is somthing that they want. Do they charge you for your fills? You should ask for an aggressive fill. See what he says.

Well, I am 10 days post op. Until 2 days ago I was forcing myself to drink Water and food because the doctor didnt want me to get sick. These last 2 days, I started to taste the food again. I started to get my appettite back. I started to eat semi normal again. And I am scared. I dont know what to do. I am starting to get my appettite back and the doctor said he will give me my first fill in another 3 weeks? Could my healing process be faster because I am young? What happens if I stretch the pouch a tiny bit from eating(havent done it yet but would like to know). Please help me out guys thanks big time. Brian

Oh boy. Im not even close to where I was before. But I want to nip it in the bud. I dont want to get to that point and gain all my weight back by the time I fill. I am going to limit the carbs thats a good idea. I am going to give it a shot. I guess I was sorta expecting the Band to stop me from eating after 5-7 bites.

Doctor told me I could move to puree food , Soft eggs, Soft noodles yesterday. I think I may have stretched the pouch a little bit thats why I am hungry? Tommarow I am going to be very very hard on myself and try and eat as less as possible. I am also going to run a little bit. I am going to try and fight it I guess. I have lost 25 pounds in the last 13 days. I dont want to gain any of it back and thats the fear.

My Introduction being Banded in 10 days
riseandfall9 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, I guess I should start off by saying my name is Brian. I am new to the site and pretty much have been reading it everyday for the last 2 weeks or so. I am being Banded on October 10th and am pretty nervus about it. Never had a surgrey before or even been put under. I guess thats normal? I was always an athlete and in amazing shape. I fell victum to a nasty meth and heroin addiction at the age of 15. It lasted about 3.5 years and ended when I had a heartattack and almost died in my Fathers arms. I have since been 4 years sober off drugs , alcohol and ciggrettes. When I was in my rehabilitation stage I turned to eating. I gained about 155 pounds since the date of my heartattack/quitting drugs and just havent been able to work the weight off on my own. I love eating. Its the only form of entertainment that I have and the only problem I have in weight loss. My work ethic in the Gym is still tip top and I dont eat the Chocolate, Cake, Icecream, Potatoes and stuff like that. But when I do sit down and eat I eat tons of Chicken and tons of Salad and I can pack away alot of food. So I think I have a few things working in my advantage and am eager to start this journey. I dont really know what to expect. I guess the only thing that I am expecting is that when I eat I get full. I know that the Band isnt going to melt the fat off my body and that I need to work with it. Just as long as it helps me get that full feeling I think I am going to be okay. Well thats my story! Hopefully it wasnt to long and boring. Im looking forward to using this fourm as a support system and looking to learn alot from everyone. Thank you! Brian
