That's awesome! I was done may 5th and I'm down 57 lbs. Excited that my husband will be having it done, just got his surgery date of August 27th.

How are all of the May sleevers doing?

I am looking forward to being able to bend over and polish my toenails without cutting off my air supply, going on all day shopping adventures with my mom without having to sit down every 20 minutes, actually believing my husband when he tells me every day that I'm beautiful, sitting in an airplane seat comfortably, not feeling like an elephant next to all my size 0-2 girlfriends, working out without feeling like I'm literally going to die, going on fabulous beach vacations without feeling like a beached whale and finally being able to feel like I'm worthy of my husband showing me off. -
Thanks for the motivation yesterday, cherrytree. I have already walked twice today and plan on walking two more times. I guess I just needed a kick in my ass

Thanks Cherrytree!

I guess I am depressing myself, I don't know why though. I have been really good with my walking and staying positive but just the past few days I've felt defeated. Do you have any suggestions for soft food healthy snacks? Do you breakup your walking throughout the day or do it all at once?

I can't. My doctor had me on water and broth the week of surgery. Then 2 weeks on water, broth and protein shakes. Now I'm starting 2 weeks of liquids, pureed and protein shakes. After these 2 weeks I can move on to solid foods. That is the plan he puts all of his patients on.

I was sleeved on May 5th, SO 317, CW 280. I'm struggling the past few days. I'm so bored with soups, protein shakes and mushy food. I just want a salad for crying out loud!!!! And some grilled chicken. I have no motivation right now to eat or walk. I feel like I'm starving all of the time but nothing sounds appealing. Anyone else feeling like this?

May 6th was a life change for me...
amp_1899 replied to MadamPrincess24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my surgery on May 5th and post-op has been absolutely nothing like I thought it would be. Let me start by saying that I'm not being negative just voicing some things I'm going through that are strange to me. For starters, as soon as I woke up in recovery I immediately thought to myself "what have I done to myself"? I can't explain it but I just don't feel like myself, not sure why, can't put my finger on it???? I'm trying to stay positive and do everything that I'm supposed to do. I am walking at a good speed on my treadmill for 10-15 minutes 2-4 times a day. I'm not sure if i should be doing more at this point but I am happy with this and can't wait to get in the gym and really get after it. Now, my concern is that I read all about people not being able to hold down liquids and getting sick, I have yet to experience any of this. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that I haven't been sick but it seems abnormal not to get sick. I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong or the surgery just isn't working on me. Then again I've lost 30lbs since last Monday. Anyone else experience any of this? Am I crazy??? :-/ -
Just had my sleeve done on Monday, May 5th. Looking for a buddy that has or has a surgery date close to mine. My mind is going crazy with questions!

I'm not doing as well as I would like. How long is this soreness in the abdomen supposed to last? I am more sore tonight than I have been. I might have over done it today but not sure. I feel like I have a broken rib on my left side. I can't inhale completely and short of breath. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Walking is going OK for me, I guess. I walk on my treadmill for 6 or 7 minutes every hour or two. I actually made my husband go buy me a fitbit yesterday so I'm excited to start using it as a tool to track stuff. I'm getting ready to head out right now and do some shopping. I can walk for miles while shopping and never notice, lol. I'm just chomping at the bit to get out of the house today. Hope you have a good day and a happy mothers day weekend.

You're already drinking protein shakes? Man, I'm on clear liquid diet only (water, crystal light, beef or chicken broth and sugar free popsicles). After day 2 I haven't had a problem keeping anything down. I understand what you mean when you say you thought the nutritionist was crazy about the fluid intake, I thought the same exact thing. I would double check with your doctor that protein shakes are OK to be drinking right now, they may just be too much for your system right now. I'm about to call my doctor because the past 2 days I've had an upset stomach and diarrhea which makes no sense to me, at all. I'm sure that was TMI, sorry, lol. How are you doing with your walking?

I've actually had most of my questions answered on here since I posted last night. This is an amazing forum, very informative! How are you doing after surgery?

I am feeling much better today. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were a struggle for me. Very sore and the trapped gas they talk about is no joke!
