Hey ladies I had my 6 month appointment yesterday in Denver. I am down 115 pounds. My NP & office staff was very impressed. My BMI was 53 before surgery it is now 35. I went to my firsr support group last night. It was awesome!!!! I met some of the most wonderful peiple. We laughed & talked just opened up. I was able to get questions answered. My nutrtionist class helped me so much I took notes. I look forward to losing 52 more pounds to get to my goal weight. We are not alone we have great support we can all be successful. :)

@@LisaCO, why on earth would you feel guilty about Quest bars?! ♫Let it go. Let it go!♫ Provided you aren't eating too many of them. I credit Quest bars with the 68 pounds I lost before surgery. And after surgery, I have eaten at least one a day (although sometimes at two sittings) to make sure I get both PROTEIN and FIBER in. Plus, the cookies-and-cream and white chocolate raspberry satisfy my sweet tooth (which, unfortunately, the surgery did not help). Focus on what you are doing right. A lot of us got into the position of needing surgery because we have issues of all-or-nothing thinking, perfectionism, "good food / bad food," and so on. Your new clothes are fitting? Yay! You feel better? Double yay! Yay for you! Silence that inner critic by giving your inner cheerleader a chance to "Ra Ra Cis Cum Bah" you. You deserve it. Hugs, Glenda Thank you Glenda you have made my day! I eat 1/2 a quest bar a day sometimes a whole one. Thank you

I have been so hungry lately just not satisfied. I am doing everything to stay on course. I feel like I am at a stall because this is the first time my scale has not moved. All my new clothes fit which makes me happy so I am pretty sure I am losing inches. I know I am getting in my protein. But I love the quest bars which makes me feel guilty. Im not sure why I am feeling this way. Is it normal?

12 hour shifts were long at first I was exhausted at the end of my shifts. Took me probably another month to get my stamina built back up. I am 5 1/2-months post op down 107 pounds & I feel awesome.

Depends what kind of work you do. I am a nurse. I took 6 weeks off. Took about 4 weeks for one incision to close.

Been gone a little while its nice catching up on everyones posts. I have noticed when my husband is home (he works out of town) I snack more & eat more. I am now weighing 225 pounds. I was thankful this morning that I lost a pound after all the cooking & baking I did this last week but to my suprise the bites of my home made chocolate cake (husbands birthday) I ate did not make me sick. He leaves tomorrow so back to the plan

I have been traveling the last 4 days. I have cheated eating potatoes, bread, popcorn and cheesecake all in small amounts. I did not get sick. Tomorrow I am getting back in the groove. I have to admit it felt good to try some different foods.

Well the ground hog saw his shadow. That means 6 more weeks of winter. I am already freezing!

A couple more questions is there a way to change your profile picture? How do I get a ticker?

My husband works out of town. It had been 4 weeks since I saw him last. He can really tell a difference. It is kind of a incentive for me when he leaves to see which pants I can get into by the time he gets home. Makes me feel really good especially when he compliments me. I have been reading about these premeier shakes how do they compare to isopure carb wise?
-
I felt like heart burn. It was a burning feeling. I started taking prilosec & it was much better. Other then that no other complications. I am 4 months post op.

Welcome to the losers bench. I think its important for you to know that there will be days in the beginning when your like what did I do to myself. I am 4 months post surgery and can say this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. There will be days when you need to vent & let it all out. This is a great site with wonderful support. Dont let the head hunger & old habits get to you. Be strong and your weight will start to disappear. This is your journey. I look forward to reading about your success.

I was told by a coworker that I need to watch what I eat because so and so lost alot of weight really quick then gained it right back. I didnt know what to say so I told the coworker that she she should look into the surgery it could help her cpap & diabetes. Then she said well another coworker did really well but she is an exception. Geez I dont know if I am wearing my heart on my sleeve but please dont compare me to other employees that had the surgery. It can be very discouraging. I have lost 87 pounds in 3 1/2 months. This is my journey.

I went to play bingo tonight it was pizza night so I had slice of pizza just the top cheese & meat. I was so worried I over done but yet I wanted another slice. Instead of another slice I asked the deli to give me a boiled egg & cheese with ranch dressing. I ate half the egg & small pieces of the cheese. I did ok but did get nauseated after I drank some water. Geez those memories of when you used to eat whatever you wanted.

I have found myself craving chili. I have been eating & making alot of green chili. I made red chili the other day. I have not dumped. It is interesting how some of us tolerate foods yet some dont. I also bought the weight watchers string cheese with jalapeno love them very good.

I too have lost half my weight to my goal weight. Makes me happy! I am 13 pounds away from losing a 100 lbs. Then I will be 32 pounds from onederland. When I hit onderland then I will celebrate. When I first started I would see posts of people at 247 & longed to be there. I am now at 245 but im still not satisfied.

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
LisaCO replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I chose gastric bypass because I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes & had severe acid reflux. I did not ever consider the band. The sleeve can lead to acid reflux. Im happy to say my starting A1C was 7.2 and 3 months later its 5.26. -
How is all you Coloradans doing. I am post surgery Oct 1st down 82 pounds and doing my best to stay focused. I have 85 more pounds to lose to meet my goal weight.
