So I am 7 weeks post op and having difficulty with the vitamins. I have hunted for a good chewable multivitamin and good chewable calcium citrate. I tried the non chewable but couldn't swallow without crushing them. I have tried chewable from centrum and Twinlab and cannot stand them. Anyone know of any good tasting brands?

I need a buddy Surgery was 5/12 in Upstate NY

I had surgery May 12th but was just released today because of complications. I need a buddy, it doesn't have to be someone local just someone I can ask questions to. Thanks. -
If I could turn back time I would. I was so strung out on medication that I am still in the hospital on an IV because I can't keep anything in. Oh I should mention my surgery was Monday. They also did a hernia repair while they were at it. I feel so frustrated now

Worst choice ever.

I was home after my first hospital visit for almost a week and then got sick and dehydrated and put back in the hospital. Turns out I have an ulcer that was causing my problems. So I spent another week in the hospital and then they sent me home with a PICC line in my arm. I still have the PICC line and it gives me fluids at night. I am doing a lot better now though and am progressing with my post op diet. I have a doctors appointment on 6/10 and I am hoping they will take out the PICC then. -

I had surgery May 12th, but I was just released today because I contracted c-diff while there. So I am struggling with hydration. I am supposed to start a little protein shake and yogurt, but I am having a hard time telling if I have enough in my new pouch. It makes me real nervous. I don't want to do any damage but I am so bloated from the c-diff as well. So frustrating. -

Hiatal hernia
melissapishappy32 replied to trusso1003's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't know I had a hernia. I fact a year ago I started having problems that lined up to a hiatal hernia and my doctors didn't believe me. Well I had surgery Monday and while they were in there they found a hiatal hernia that they repaired right there. Check with your doctor they might be able to take care of it all at once -
Tips from success stories

I don't think you can say that across the board. Each patient should follow their own doctors orders. Mine had me doing Protein shakes as soon as I was released from the hospital on day 3 I have my surgery Monday and my doctor is having me do clear liquids three days before and then when I leave the hospital clear liquids and Protein shake but not the whole shake at once. I think it depends on the doctor. -
Give your opinion to tell or not

At first I told my mom. Then I told extended family and then I told friends. I knew I was going to need a support group around me of personal cheerleaders. Then I realized that where I work with all the parties and foods brought in I needed to share. So I told a select group of coworkers. I at first was worried people would judge me. The people who matter most to me though know how hard I have tried to lose weight and know that it is not an easy way out. I haven't told everyone yet but I think eventually I will.
