    Vomiting and food stuck

I am only 4 weeks post op but the same thing happened to me ability 2.5 weeks after surgery. It was because I was eating to fast and not chewing enough. I now play a game on my phone in between bites and chew my food to death. They told me it should take a half hour to eat a meal, and it does. Hang in there and breathe.

    helppp

I am 3.5 weeks post op and I feel the same way. I know some of it is head hunger, but I have a hard time believing it's all head hunger but you never know. It got better when I started pureed food, I'm hoping it will get even better when I start soft foods monday.
  3. Hi all! I am starting pureed foods on Monday and any ideas of foods I can eat would be great! Thanks!

First day at the gym and I passed out!

How long had it been since your surgery? My surgery is tomorrow. I am used to some pretty intense strength and cardio workouts. They are telling me 3 to 4 weeks before I can go back. I just don't want to wait that long. As for your issue do you eat before you go. Protein is your best friend when trying to keep your blood sugar stable. Have you tried drinking a shake before your workout?

    Older GBS

I am going in for my surgery tomorrow and this is my biggest fear. I have been dieting and exercising for years with yo yo effects. I think some times we put to much stress on ourselves and that can cause hormonal changes which can affect weight loss big time. I would just try to relax a bit (I know how hard that is, but you may just need it) If it continues talk to your nutritionist and doctor.

    Advice

Thank you so much! You have made a few really good points that I did not think of. Slippers! How could I not have thought of that! Haha. I will keep everyone posted. So far I'm down like 20 lbs. So it's a good start before surgery

    Advice

My diet is going great. It's been a lot easier for me than I thought, but still not easy. I have managed to stay true to it though. I just have to last another 5 days!

    Advice

My surgery is next Monday (June 16th). I am starting to get nervous and am obsessing about making sure I am prepared. Does anyone have any advice for me?
  10. I was in the grocery store today and saw my favorite chips. I am on the pre op diet and having surgery (Gastric Bypass) on the 16th. Obviously I did not buy them but my question to all of you that have had it is when do these things stop looking good? Do these cravings ever go away?
  11. That is a great way to think about it! Love it!

    What am I feeling?

I don't still feel it's the easy way out. In fact I feel this is harder and carries way more risk than traditional diets. Maybe that's why it's so emotional for me. I have been working with a personal trainer for 2 years. I was very worried about what he would think of me. I finally told him this morning and that's a huge weight off my sholders. He is supportive in my decision, and not that I have to have his validation, but it most certainly helps. Even before I told him I was feeling better after a good night's rest. I think I just have to relax a bit and welcome the new and healthier me that's on her way
  13. I have went back and forth on having wls for years. I always came to the same conclusion. That it was an extreme measure that I was to young to utilize. I mean if I could do it without surgery then why not try. I also felt it was taking the easy way out. I am now 28 @ 350 pounds with diabetes, High blood pressure, and high cholesterol. I realized that if I don't make changes I am going to die. Maybe not soon but sooner than later. I have been through all of the pre op screenings and I will get my surgery date Thursday. I feel anxious, nervous, excited, defeated, hypocritical, sad, angry. It's exhausting. I feel good about my decision and I am not having cold feet or anything its just a real emotional journey for me. At any given moment I feel something different than the moment before. Did anyone else feel the same way? Is it just nerves?

    Kickboxing

Thanks! That helps. I'll have to double up before the surgery to get in my fill before hand

    Kickboxing

I currently do kickboxing now and my surgery is probably going to be scheduled for the end of June. How long do you think I'll be away from that high intensity workouts?
