    Please allow me to vent.......

@@Cassie111 I just looked at your before and after photo. You look amazing. I know there is nothing I can say to change the way you feel about yourself. What is it that will make you happy? Some things to think about: (1) If you had plastics are you still going to find more faults in your appearance? When you turn 80. Will you need more plastics to be happy? (2) Its a shock to have physical changes that happen so quickly. Have you thought about a counselor to get past body image issues? (3) plastics are expensive. If you have documented rashes with your Dr. some insurance companies will cover a portion of plastics. (4)There is no such thing as a perfect body. Even models In magazines are air brushed. I hope with time you can accept how beautiful you are.

Did Your Worst Nightmare Come True?

I was the only person judging me harshly at the gym. Tour gyms in your area to find what feels comfortable. Have the staff show you the machines and how to use them. My gym is family friendly. All ages and fitness levels. First, I was intimidated. I thought their would only be these amazing in shape people at the gym. It was a relief to find people starting out just like me. I stayed in the cardio area for months before I ventured to the weight lifting area. I feel very much at home in the gym. After two years, I'm one of the regulars. No more intimidation.

@@leonelbreton Looking healthy and lean. And rocking those jeans .
  9. @@TracyBar 2) I've read a lot about the fact that your calories should come from Protein for the most part. But what about vegetables and fruit? what about a balanced diet, with nutrients and Vitamins from lots of different foods? How does one thrive on a diet rich in protein but deficient in veg and fruit and some carbs? I'm two years out. Salads/vegetables combined with my protein helps to keep me satisfied. I feel the sensation of full better. Also Fiber and nutrients. You will learn so mush about how to fuel your body correctly. All of the old ways that didn't serve us well will change over to eating healthy. You have a better understanding of a new relationship with food. Food is still amazing.Eating becomes normal. Attached are recipes of what food will look like. http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ My instructions were after 75% of weight loss to add plant based or whole wheat carbs. The Mirror...

@@Essence46 Congratulations on the size 12. I hope the body image will change for you. I worked with a counselor on seeing myself as a smaller package. An option to try. Get a piece of clothing that is a size 20. Try it on in front of a mirror. Sometimes you need that reminder of how far you have come.

    I'm scared of flabby skin

@@kayse Its normal to be afraid of the unknown. You goal is healthy. I started at 254 I lost 119 pounds I can't afford plastics. I have loose skin on my mid section, back, arms, butt, inner thighs and my boobs are deflated. It's all manageable with shape wear and a good bra. This is where I'm at after 2 years. It was worth all the loose skin in the world.

  17. @@LipstickLady It's still important to me to see the veterans here. I see less and less of them. I can't take responsibility for peoples short or long term success. All I can do is offer my experience, suggestions and give referrals to the experts (medical professionals) I pick and choose what I read and respond to. Its disturbing to see people wanting any excuse to not follow their surgeons plan. I hate to see (newbie or Veteran) enabling poor decisions. I won't validate anyone's poor choices. I seem just to skip over many threads because I cant say the same thing over and over. I understand people asking for help and being honest about choices. I want to see people succeed. When they slip I want to see them get back on the horse. I will cheer them on. It comes down to this....It's all on them to do the work. No one can do it for them.

    Getting over the guilt

@@KaiserKid I have had several issues spring their ugly head in this process. Working them out with a counselor was the best gift from my sleeve. It's good to address issues about our weight. Behavior change is so important for sucess. Learn to forgive and love yourself. As for people that comment about your weight. We live in a judgemental society. We are told we are not enough by the media and people around us. We are sold by ad's that we must live up to someone else's standard of beauty. The only person that gets to define you is YOU! Be your own Awesome. I no longer invest my time in negative people that want to tear you down. The same people will find another negative trait to comment on after you lose weight. Keep yourself surrounded by people that support you.

  22. @@solea78 I'm 2 years out. My cardio is limited right now due to an injury. I can eat more food, Its important for me to keep my diet dialed in. (log your food) go back to basics. Protein first ( I upped my protein to 100 to 150 gms), vegetables low carb. As much Water as you can get in. If you are looking for meal ideas..Here is a site for recipes http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ Swimming or anything low impact are great options. Another option is to lift weights at home or in a gym. Studies show that a well-designed strength program can elevate your EPOC or metabolism for up to 38 hours after the workout. In other words, you continue to burn calories long after strength training. Whereas once you stop cardio, the calorie burning stops as well. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/buffmother2.htm http://www.bodybuilding.com/content/strength-training-for-fat-loss-building-a-bigger-engine.html http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/ .We are here cheering you on.
