    Starting BMI 40

Our stats are similar. But I was 45 when I had surgery. You will see many post on the loose skin issue. It will be an unknown outcome of your surgery. None of us know what it looks like until we hit goal. It's great that you youtubed and research It. Very few are lucky that their skin bounces back, Much has to do with age and length of time you have been overweight. All the lotions in the world do not get rid of loose skin. Weightlifting...the muscle will fill out the areas but it won't get rid of it. Your choice is plastics to have it removed, Some insurance will cover if you have documented rashes or mobility issues due to loose skin. Self pay is expensive. Some packages in mexico are cheaper.

I’ve regained ALL the weight back 😢♀️

To the original poster. Sorry I'm not trying to hijack your original post. Some are missing the point of what grazing is. Difference in grazing and healthy snacking. Healthy snacking = eating six small healthy meals throughout your day. You are hitting your calorie and macronutrients goals. Grazing = eating six or more meals that go over your calorie goal. Macronutrients out of proportion due to poor food choices. High carbs, sugar and low protein. The goal is healthy not malnourished and gaining weight back. Not saying the above is your situation. Most are here with good intentions. Even if it's tough love. take what pertains and is useful from this site. Ignore the trolls. I hope you find what works for you, Jenn

    Slow weight loss

Congratulations. You have reached the third week stall. Here is a past post on this topic. I hope you find what works for you. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/#comment-3952027
  6. Sorry for the rant..I'm in a mood this morning... I didn't feel the need to disclose to everyone. I am not the spokesperson or poster child for bariatric weight loss. I'm not responsible for other people's choices or success with weight loss. It's not so much I have been busted for not disclosing. People are going to notice, talk and speculate about a massive weight loss. These same gossiping negative people will talk about you behind your back over other things once you reach goal. If I was open about my surgery, these same people will judge..Why would I care to disclose to them I had surgery? It's great to be an age where you don't give your time and attention to negative people.

    First real foods

Congrats on getting to the real food stage. It is a bit of trial and error to see where your sensation of full is. Also finding foods that don't upset your stomach. You are still eating very little at this point. 800-900 calories per day Just a suggestion. Always get protein in first. If you have room add vegetables. Scrambled eggs with diced green ,red pepper and onion. Lunch tuna creations steamed broccoli topped with parmesan cheese Dinner turkey breast and steamed french green beans

I can't get used to being thinner!

It's pretty funny when you go through so many sizes untill you get to goal. You get in a dressing room and get way excited that you are no longer at your largest size. I still kept one pair of my size 22 jeans in my closet. If I have a day I struggled with weight loss or seeing myself smaller. I would put them on to remind me that Yes I'm smaller.

    Clothing Sizes

I love loft's styles. Mature but a little sexy sizzle . Their stores sizes are labeled smaller than they actually are. I would hate to order anything online based on their measurement chart. I would be sending things back to find a size that fits. White house black market sizes are marked smaller than the true size. The smaller size may make me smile but, it's still frustrating.

    Hunger

    Hunger

Congratulations on your weight loss. The first stages Liquid soft puree can be a bit rough for hunger. . Make sure you are hitting your protein goal 60-100 grams It will help with hunger. Log your food . It gets better once you get to the "real food" stage. Hunger is a tricky thing to figure out. Sometimes it may be head hunger, Eating out of boredom or stress/emotional eating. With surgery you will still feel real hunger at times. You will learn strategies on how to satisfy your new stomach. Eating three meals and two snack throughout the day. Keeping healthy options for sweet and salty cravings on hand. Fear of weight gain can be a good thing. It will help keep you on track. Take it one day at a time. Work your eating plan.
  12. You are amazing! keep being driven by your fitness goals. Weightlifting is a game changer. Thanks for sharing your story and experiences. Keep inspiring people to change. Jenn

    Slow weight loss / gym

You are doing fantastic! Stalls and plateaus are going to happen. I've never seen anyone a consistent straight linear drop in weight. It's not how fast the weight comes off it's the fact the weight is coming off. We all have different body physiology. Try not to compare your weight loss with others ...It will make you crazy Yes, Working out will help your weight loss. I had a large stall in my third month. I sold my treadmill and bought a gym membership. My weightloss seriously sped up. I got to goal in six months. I think we are all stronger than we give ourselves credit for. You can take this weight loss opportunity and take it as far as you want. I was a true couch potato. I hated working out in the beginning. I never would have believed I could finish a full marathon. Especially because I'm in my late 40's Working out has been my replacement for stress/emotional eating. I used the time to process issues and take out my stress from work etc. It's time for myself. I don't let anyone call or interrupt me at the gym. I discovered I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I can crank up my play list while doing cardio and become a badass breaking a serious sweat. I get a high from it. With rapid weight loss, most of us burn muscle. It was an unhealthy look for me. Weightlifting is a game changer for transforming your body. The muscle has filled some of my loose skin (only plastics will get rid of it) Go get it girly! You may hate going to the gym some days. You won't leave the gym regretting that you went.

    Clothing Sizes

Amen on the vanity sizing. I remember a size five was an insanely small pair of jeans way back in high school. I know it's going to be a different size pair of jeans for each designer. It pays off to try things on. I see things that look great on the hanger. I try them on and they don't hang correctly on my body.

    What's your beauty secret?

I'm still aging but my skin glows. Diet, exercise , sleep and water has been the best thing for my skin. When I shower, I mix coconut oil and turbinado sugar to exfoliate and moisturize my body. I use oil of olay total effects 7 in one anti aging moisturizer for my face. https://www.olay.com/en-us/skin-care-products/total-effects-daily-face-moisturizer My step daughter sent me some good youtube makeup tutorials for mature skin online. Makeup I keep simple for day. Lotion first, loreal Lumi foundation with a damp beauty blender. waterproof mascara and Lip gloss. I can be a girly girl at times. I Love date night. It's an excuse to wear heels and makeup. I bump up my eyes with urban decay nude palette. I can rock a smokey eye without looking too trampy..lol I've learned to invest in eye makeup. You don't want it to flake off and settle under your eyes to emphasize lines/wrinkles.

Help! I'm having a carb attack!!

You are doing great. give yourself credit for he 76 pounds down. You recognized the slip shows you are in control. The mental battle is a big part of this...Right?
  17. Healthy_life2

    How important is water really!

It helps weight loss. It's also a dehydration issue.

Help! I'm having a carb attack!!

It's ok that you slipped up. No one is perfect at this. It's time to get back on the horse. Once you eat carbs and sugar you crave them more. It will take a few days to detox off carbs. You have worked too hard to let this set you back.

    New to this

Congratulations on your surgery. Give your surgeon's office a call if you have any medical concerns. Rest up . I hope you recover and heal quickly.

I believe I was just insulted at my gym.

I was raised when political correctness was not an issue. My work environment was also mainly men. I was considered and accepted as one of the guy's. Things I have said could be interpreted as sexual harassment. Most of it is my warped sense of humor.

I agree, Women can be just as creepy. I'm always afraid to compliment men. Not sure how they will take it. Question..Do guys get complimented enough?

Is it the equivalent of being called a stripper?
