Please help me understand what I'm suppose to be doing..
Healthy_life2 replied to WV_Chef's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
DISCLAIMER - not for newbies...Follow your plan My two cents for whatever it's worth. this is not a one size fit's all. Especially further out from surgery. We are all different body physiology and activity levels If you are losing weight ..........Your goal says 135 Goto https://tdeecalculator.net/ It is going to calculate your calories, protein and carb goal specifically dialed in for you. by sex male or female age hight weight activity level. Once you enter your information (skip body fat) It will give you your maintenance calories on the top left hand side. Scroll down to MACRONUTRIENTS You will see three tabs (maintaining) (cutting) (bulking) Click (cutting) to calculate your weight loss macros (calories carbs protein) It will give you a 500 calorie deficit from your maintenance calories. Look below it gives you three options of low, moderate and high carbs Start at low carbs to see if you go into weight loss mode. Move up and see if you are still losing with higher carbs. Once you have these calculations you can enter them into MYFITNESSPAL For people further out. This in may mean dialing it in to see what macros kick you back into weight loss. I had to lower my calories a bit more than the calculator suggested. -
Socks, but I can see you in these

Scared of regaining it all!

You didn't feel good at 115. What weight do you feel healthy at? I understand the freakout over a weight gain. It's great that you are right on top of this gain and working it back off. I have given myself a 10 pound bounce range to maintain. When the scale moves up. I go back into weightloss eating mode logging food to hit calorie and carb goals. When I get it back to where I feel healthy I try to balance it out with healthy carbs. I seem to be chasing the same 10 to 15 pounds up and down.... I maintained easily the first two years. At three years out it changed. It's easy for me to gain and the weight comes off slowly. (frustrating) I had to dial in my diet to find the point where my body loses weight. I used a tdee calculator..If interested in the info let me know. Most of maintaining has been trial and error for me. Wish you the best, Jenn -
Amen! This is a rant..Not to the original poster but to anyone giving medical advice on here.....Who in the hell on this board is a medical professional ? Can they show their credentials to prove it? trust the process and instructions given to you by your surgeon's office. Yes, we are adults...Make your own choices....The only one that has to be happy with your outcome is you. Anyone that says bariatrics is the easy way out can bite me! This takes work.

Plastics or no plastics ?
Healthy_life2 replied to dreamingsmall's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I sent you a photo..You can se the thigh sag when the camera is closer...lol My loose skin is livable. It didn't go away or magically or tighten up. It's hidden well with shapewear and clothing. The muscle fills it out a bit... If I could afford plastics....I would get my tummy done -

Plastics or no plastics ?

I actually still have sag/drape in my inner thighs. My hubby calls them my muscle chicken legs. He's pervy for the saggy chicx..lol -
It's work even after goal ...right? I had surgery three years ago. I noticed the weight loss has changed. It's easy to gain and comes off slowly. I've had to dial in my diet and log food. The scale is finally moving down.

How soon should you put on a Girdle?
Healthy_life2 replied to Yosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It all depends on your age, weight and how long you were overweight. Your loose skin is an unknown outcome of surgery. You can have two people the same weight and height and the loose skin looks totally different. -
How soon should you put on a Girdle?
Healthy_life2 replied to Yosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok ladies, A girdle or shapewear will smooth and tuck the loose skin for clothing to fit better. Age and how long you have been overweight will be factors on what your loose skin is going to look like. Plastics is the only way to get rid of it. We are talking a 75 pound to a 100 pound weight loss. If you are concerned about sag now...You are going to be surprised after your loss. A few photos of what it might look like for you. -

Drinking liquids while eating.....still bad 5 months out?
Healthy_life2 replied to gwbicster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are an adult, It's your choice. I'm no expert just another bariatric patient It does wash the food through your stomach. You may find you won't feel full or satisfied. Hunger for your next meal may start earlier. -
Congrats hope your pants didn't fall to your ankles!

things to try: Evaluate: what your food intake is . How many calories are you eating? Are you hitting your protein and keeping your carbohydrates low? Are you logging your food? Evaluate what your exercise commitment is. Is there anything you need to change or are you on track with your dieticians plan? Be consistent in logging your food and hitting calorie and macros Mix up your workout routine. Don't do the same exercise over and over. increase the intensity of your workout Drink lots of water

WLS and Eating Disorders
Healthy_life2 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know this is an old thread. Just hope to get this topic going again. Yes i went to an eating disorder clinic...Insurance would not cover. Third year My bariatric professionals program view me as one of their most successful patients. What they don't understand Is I have disordered thinking around my weight loss I'm obsessive in my exercise ( exercise is viewed as a great thing in life) When you over exercise its becoming an issue. The disordered thinking is driven by the fear of weight loss and being happy with the weight i'm at. I acknowledge that its preoccupying my thought and time. I am aware I push my workouts to the point of exhaustion. It's affects my blood sugar, I have brain fog, my hair loss continued. Sports injuries. I feel I have to have control of this...If I let go of maintaining the way I do...I have weight gain. When life get out of control I replaced going to food for comfort to going two plus hours to the gym. -
Please share some music ...I need to update my playlist!

The reset is only going back to liquids soft progressing out to real food. It's that same as going back to basics. Not sure what a serious stall means? If it's not a long stall, continue working your plan. The weight will drop again. Breaking stalls can be frustrating. A few things to try: self evaluate what your food intake and exercise commitment is. Be consistent in logging your food and hitting calorie and macros Mix up your workout routine. Don't do the same exercise over and over. increase the intensity of your workout

Check with your dieticians instructions. I use myfitnesspal food log, It makes counting your calories, protein and carbs so much easier. . My instructions were Protein first 60 to 100 grams. vegetables and plant based carbs. (nothing processed) No bread, rice, pasta or potatoes until I lost 75% of my weight. Healthy carbs whole wheat, brown rice, sweet potatoes were added to slow/stop my weight loss.

I started with walking and elliptical for the first two months. After I was released from my doctor, I got into weightlifting (including abdominal work)
