    Water and sleeve stretching

Big debate on if you can stretch your sleeve. Very few people need a revision..Enough said. A couple gulps and you feel uncomfortable. To me, it sounds like you are feeling the restriction from your surgery. I distance run. I can't chug or gulp water at the aid/refueling stations on the route. I feel the same sensation you are describing. Stop gulping and chugging water. Start sipping.

    Overeating

You already said your body is giving signals to slow down and dont over eat. If you can't find a way to stop. You might want to find a counselor/theripist to help Some tips....sit at a table to eat with no distactions. Take a bite and seriouly concentrate on chewing it and slowing down. 7. Oh here comes a rant! lol Kill's me that I never gave a thought or care about what I ate. This says so much about the food and drug administration (FDA) Are they looking out for our health or making the big money off the manufacturers of this crap. Look at all the prescription drug side effects and lawsuits. Anyone notice certain food you eat and crave even more. They leave you feeling hungry. Empty calories. No nutritional value. twinkies..lol They have a shelf life longer than my life span. Tobacco and addiction - How about food additives causing addiction. Manufacturers want to make you a repeat consumer of their products. Products that will affect your health. Whew* this is off my chest.lol back to normal conversation

I think I really screwed up! *sob*

You are going to stress yourself out worrying about a "what if "situation. No point in beating yourself up. take a deep breath. Pregnancy test first. If you are pregnant then congratulations! Priority is a healthy baby (if your pregnant) Surgery can happen later down the road.
  12. I'm sorry to hear the pain and stress you are feeling. You have not wrecked your sleeve. Start small on your selfcare. Some things to think about or try... Your stress seems to be at home. Doing activities out of the house might clear your mind. Go for a walk or to the library. Mind ,body and spirit takes a lifetime of work Will a diet of protein bars and shakes make you feel deprived and more hungry? WIll bars and shakes be sustainable long term to lose weight? this is my example of light to no prep --- Would this be doable for you? here is what a day of food can look like: Breakfast: 2 Dannon light n fit yogurt and two jimmy dean turkey sausage (microwave and your done) Snack: Quest oatmeal cookie chocolate chip bar Lunch: Cobb salad I break this into two meals..I can't eat this in one sitting 7 oz Canned chicken 3.4 oz bagged salad sunflower crunch kit add some bacon bits and sunflowerseeds from the kit if you like. 1 Wholly guacamole mini cup. (your decision if you want to add dressing) Dinner: 6 oz Frozen pre cooked fajita chicken strips (john soules)(microwave and done) 3 oz frozen green, red peppers and onion strips..(Microwave and done) 1/2 flat out bread lite (weight watchers) Salsa Snack : 6 fresh strawberries 2 tablespoons sugar free hershey's chocolate syrup to dip them in. Myfitnesspal log estimate - Calories 1036 protein 131 - carbs 73 - fats 33.

    Hitting The Gym

I was released to walk the day after surgery. Helps in the healing process. Call your surgeon's office. Ask when you will be release to exercise and weight lifting restrictions.
  14. I'm not a medical professional. Just some personal thoughts on this topic.. I'm sure you have heard this repeatedly ...Surgical weight loss is not portion control alone. You still have to eat according to your plan and increase activity. If you don't change to healthy foods/behaviors you won't be successful long term. Different medical issues can affect your metabolism rate. My metabolism was a bit messed up before surgery (type one diabetic) It's a bit messed up still.

    Carbonated Beverages?

Some things to think about because you are 17 days post op... Is this going to hurt after you drink it? Is the carbonation going to take up valuable room to get your protein and water goal in?
  16. I hope your father is still doing well. Time to put your selfcare back into practice. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. You can do this. Getting back on track can be done. Whenever you struggle, get back on the horse. Be consistent not perfect. I can relate. I had a gain in my third year. I just got my weight back down. I miss the days of fast weight loss. I had to do some trial and error on what foods help me feel full. I don't do shakes. I don't feel satisfied on liquids. I log my food.(myfitnesspal) I'm hitting around 1200/1300 calories and low carb. I increased my protein goal. (building more muscle and helps with hunger) I eat vegetables with meals. The fiber and bulk help keep my calories in range and hunger down I keep healthy options for salty and sweet cravings on hand. I keep my temptations foods out of the house..lol Lots of water..(I use crystal light for flavor) I eat about every 2 to 3 hours Exercise/activity Make a grocery shopping list. Plan your food and meals. Protein choices - Beef chicken pork fish eggs dairy beans (I'm sure there are more) spices. (Fresh garlic pre peeled and in a bag) (taco/fajita) (grill mates marinades) Fresh veggies and fruit Bariatric friendly recipes this is my dieticians website. http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ I have some repeat items that I don't have to cook.... lol some days are just busy Tuna pouches Pre cooked hard boiled eggs (they sell them in the delli area of winco and walmart) Dannon light n fit greek yogurt John soules pre cooked chicken breast strips freezer aisle (chicken fajitas) Smoked salmon canned chicken marketside fresh steamable vegetables (walmart) french green beans I add bacon bits and sliced almonds) (Brussel Sprouts topped with parmesan cheese) (Riced Cauliflower) dole - Bag salad Sweet cravings Strawberries dipped in hershey's sugar free syrup . Apples dipped in smuckers sugar free caramel syrup) Salty cravings Beef jerky and quest BBQ protein chips dipped in salsa jimmy dean turkey sausage breakfast links (frozen bag winco)

Problem with too much weight loss?!

BMI of 18. He is telling you you are going to continue to lose weight for the next 6 months. Does he have you on a supervised weight gain? Over the shelf weight gainer or medical grade? What are his instructions?
  20. Age and how long you have been overweight are factors if the skin has a bit of bounce back. Reality is excess skin is only going away by having plastics. As for lotions....Sigh. slathering lotion on loose skin...Does nothing. (my opinion) Shapewear: try several kinds until you find what works for you.

    Husband is jealous

May be their fear of a major surgery. They want you to be ok. My hubby got a bit insecure in this process. Your hubby may fear...That you will have attention from other men, That you may have an affair or leave. If it's the insecurity just be reassuring I was doing more things on my own and he was feeling left behind....It's a serious change in life. Invite him to go on walks even if he says no.

    Observing others

I think most of us get over excited about WLS. Mostly its that high from the honeymoon phase. We understand what it's like to walk in the shoes of people that struggle with weight. We wish they knew how life changing this was. Your profile says pre-op. So if you are contemplating or had surgery, Weight loss and obesity issues may be on your mind more than normal. That may be why you are observing others around you more. I personally don't want to be the spokesperson for bariatrics. How many times have I heard from others that I needed to lose weight and it was so simple in their opinion. I think most of us understand it when friends make an off comment when they see our rapid weight loss. The hair grows back and life moves on. Healthy is what's important.

Rant that is looking for advice

My advice: rough that they are putting you in an awkward position. I would refer the parents to their family Dr. Bow out gracefully and say weight loss advice would be better coming from a medical professional. Another option to think about. Does your employer offer weight loss/nutrition or fitness classes for teenagers? Can they develop a program or partner with an agency that does?
