    Weight gain

I don't mean this in a negative way. Your BMI is 34.7 Obese. Just the health risks that go along with it. I wish you the best whatever you decide. BMI calculator below https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm

    Weight gain

So many studies on stretching your stomach. It seems to be a rare occurrence. Some may need a revision. So think about it this way. Long term success is behavior change - Slow down when you eat. Stop eating when you feel your new sensation of full. Don't eat to the point you vomit. Drink 30 mins after you eat.

    Weight gain

You wash the food through your system and don't get the nutrition. Also helps you feel full and satisfied. There are many behavior changes with WLS. Drinking after a meal really is not as hard as you may think. I hope your health is a priority over having to change old habits that keep us overweight.

How often should I be eating? Calorie intake?

Your restriction in the first months is at its best. It can be a challenge to get 600 to 900 calories in. Dr's instructions are all different. Most don't worry about calories in the first months the focus is getting your protein in. I eat small meals every three hours. It was work getting in 1100 calories. I think I got there at 5 months.

    Finally got a scale

I eyeballed and used the palm method for a while. After using a scale I realized I was way off. 3 oz of salad on a scale is very different from 3 oz in a measuring cup.

    Day 6 post op mood

Congrats on your surgery and weight loss. It gets better after you reach the real food stage. Changing behaviors takes time. When you repeat small efforts over and over it becomes habit. This will be your new normal. ..hang in there[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Is this a PLOM ?

Not a debbie downer at all. That is a major life event for you. I'm sorry for your loss. I try to show compassion daily. People hide what they are going through or experienced well. You never know who the walking wounded are. My turn to share, It's hard to let go of the people we love. My mother and father in law were diagnosed with stage four cancer with months to live. They passed with in four days of each other. This was right before my surgery. My goal after surgery was to do distance runs in their memory. I continue to do them. My weight was not only health issues. It was holding me back from living the best life I can. I feel like I'm making up for lost time. Live life like today is the last.

I'm envious of your curves. Seems like the less body fat I have my curves disappear.

    Is this a PLOM ?

PLOM. Pretty cute... I have days I've kicked my teddy bear. Seeing people have struggles (even small) with WLS don't bother me. Just don't wallow in it..lol Perspective: A cancer patient with a month to live would gladly trade places with any of us for weight loss struggles. So pick your PLOM up and press on! Life is to short.

    A few challenging days

I'm envious you were somewhere warm. Sounds like a great time. We have those days. You are getting back on your program is what's important. Be consistent not perfect. I'm not saying this is your issue with hunger. For me adding carbs/sugar makes me crave them more. Get back on track and detox from carbs. Give it a few days to see if your hunger is less. Wishing you the best, Jenn
