5 months post op. Not losing weight

Give yourself credit...You are losing weight 38 and still going. Just so I understand correctly. You are login and getting in 800 calories per day. Drs are telling you too many of your calories are from protein. Are you hitting your protein goals or are they higher than 60/100 grams?
  2. Healthy_life2

    Muffins??

Quest protein bars have a blueberry muffin flavor, 190 calorie and 21g protein.
  3. Great transformation. Congrats on maintaining. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Questions about the sleeve

Your Surgeon's office will give you information on risks. They will also monitor your weight loss. Losing too much weight is rare. You would have to ask the person who looked "sick" if they had complications or health issues.

    Questions about the sleeve

Your surgeon's office will give you great information on risks with surgery. You would have to ask the person that looked "sick" if they had complications or health issues. Your Dr. is going to monitor your health. Too much weight loss is rare. I'm not saying this is the same situation....I'm a healthy body mass index.(BMI) I've had comments that I've lost too much weight and looked sick. people were just used to seeing me big.

    Need Some Goal Weight Advice

Congrats on all your hard work. Celebrate big after your 3 pounds! Goal is whatever weight is healthy for you. Maintaining may mean managing a ten pound weight fluctuation up and down. I was told about the 2nd to 3rd year 15/20 pound gain. It's common but not everyone's experience. I didn't believe it until I had a 15 pound gain in my third year. The 15/20 weight bounce does not mean you have to stay there. You can get the weight bounce back down with work. I am back down to 130's. I've been at a healthy BMI for almost 4 years.

Low fat vs Low carb—it’s a draw!

I just read eat fast run slow by shalane flanagan (olympic distance runner and whole food chef) She talks about the quality of your protein and carbs. Also how women need a certain amount of quality fats when you are athletic. Amenorrhoea is so common for women and sports. Healthy fats are necessary for hormones. I guess I better get some links up for the analytical people on the board..lol @JohnnyCakes No disrespect. You are just overly passionate about your thoughts on correct nutrition.

Where are these trolls coming from?

Got to love you. Some of us have been exercising for years. Funny how some people think working out is a new concept. Uuuugh " Have you gone to the gym?"Nothing worse than a reformed alcoholic or a reformed obese person. No need for preaching to a point of throwing it in your face. Keep up your positivity!

    Discouraged

You have a fantastic mind set on making the most out of your surgery. It's a learning process on how to fuel your body and change behaviors. You got this!
  12. Healthy_life2

    Bit worried

When was the last time you lost 29 pounds? lol You are doing fantastic!
  13. Healthy_life2

    Discouraged

Two weeks out....give it time. Comparing your weight loss with others will make you a bit crazy..lol It's normal to hear that people are disappointed at their rate of weight loss. It's not a race. We all lose at different rates. You are going to look back after a year out and realize how fast your weight loss actually was.

5 years and it is never too late

Its valuable for people to hear the reality of life years out. It was something I wish I had been more prepared for. Congratulations on all your weight lost and getting things back on track. It's never too late to work on this and turn things around.
  15. Sum of small efforts repeated day in day out. Be consistent with your food plan and exercise. Conquer behavior change and overcome the mental battles.

    Failure

If you are struggling emotionally ,binging and all that stuff...You may want to look into counseling. The mental battle with WLS is hard. But it will keep you successful long term. I hate the word failure. You lost 97. give yourself credit for the hard work you put in. Every day is a chance to change. Don't worry about how fast you lose weight ...concentrate on the fact you are losing weight.
  17. My third month I had a large stall. I had to admit I was slacking on my exercise. I bought a gym membership and turned things around. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gym workouts

I was board working out at home. I love my gym I get four free training sessions with my gym membership. I took a strength training class for women. I am loving the weight room. Lifting has been very transforming to my body. I do hour of cardio. I switch off to different machines. All have benefits. I need more stairclimber time to get a booty..lol Yoga is great for stretching and flexibility. Seriously a popular class lol A side note: I seen a post by you about being looked at in the gym. Most of the regulars are working on their goal and don't pay attention to others. If you are experiencing creepers. Put your resting B*tch face on..Stare back and say can I help you...They go away.

    six weeks postop

I apologize to the original poster for going off topic. I see this was your first post. Veterans usually ignore the negative posts. I'm going to respond once and not acknowledge @Vsglife again. Hope the rest of the board will do the same. Take what is useful and ignore the people that personal attack and are seeking drama and attention. Most of the people here are supportive. Wishing you the best, Jenn

    Wine and Sleeve

After a while, I had the occasional glass of wine. Test a glass before you go out in public to drink. You will want to know how it will affect you. Monitor the extra calories (see chart below) Minor things for me. I developed a low tolerance level.(cheap date) ,My blood sugar drops. I wake up with swollen feet and I feel kinda crappy the next day.

  23. Normal to be unsure and have anxiety, I'm saying this to you because I've had to say these things to myself. You deserve this. You deserve to make peace with your life, heal from past hurts and negative outer comments that you are now saying to yourself. Part of this journey in the mental side of weight loss. Forgive and love yourself. You come first. Why would anyone want to go back to our 20's lol Be your own awesome at any age! We have your back!
