Very discouraged. Two weeks out and still stalled
Healthy_life2 replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats to anyone who has a linear drop in weight. -
Unfortunately my signal is a burp.
-
I usually don't crave sweet. But, I have my chocolate or carb weak moments . I tell my husband to hide or take to work any temptation foods when I'm struggling. I do dip strawberries in hershey's chocolate sugar free syrup or have a quest chocolate flavored protein bar to kill the craving.

I understand the frustration and fear when you have a stall. I want to reassure you...You are working your program. you are doing nothing wrong. Stalls may happen to you at different time periods of your weight loss. We rarely see anyone have a continuous drop without a plateau/stall. Somethings to try: If you are doing the same exercise/activity routine over and over, try mixing things up or increasing the intensity. Increase protein goals. Increase water. Read embrace the stall below: https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/#comment-3952027 -

Don't be afraid of going out to dinner. Order food that fits your plan (protein and veg...leave off the carbohydrates) box the rest for another meal later.

40+ what is age appropriate clothing to you?
Healthy_life2 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am also a creature of comfort. Jeans t shirts and workout clothing are my staples of daily life. I love having times to dress up. It brings out my inner girly girl. My group of ladies started a little black dress night. We bring clothing we no longer wear and donate it to the womens and childrens shelter. I agree. I'm not a fan of style trends. Everyone looks like a cookie cutter. Same clothing ,hairstyles and handbags. -

Ok I have seen women older than you rocking tight leopard print leggings and pulled it off well. The first photo is what I want to wear. Love her glasses. -
40+ what is age appropriate clothing to you?
Healthy_life2 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I own a pair of jean from forever 21 * laughing. Found them in a thrift store during weight loss phase. Honestly they have no embellished pockets..Pretty generic jeans - No label except on the inside waistband. I would never leave the house in them if "Forever 21" was displayed. Workout clothing - I agree please no words on your bum...I wear shorts and compression gear. My comfort come first over age appropriate - I will get a raised eyebrow at the gym until they see I'm there to seriously sweat 2 hours. Compression shirts are tight, short or long sleeves, they wick sweat and I don't get friction burn from running. -

5 years post lap band.. new breast cancer diagnosis
Healthy_life2 replied to sp70's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My heart goes out to you. Diagnosed last month and now radiation/tamoxifen. Healing from breast cancer comes first...right? That is a lot of stress. Many health benefits with nutrition. This may be the time to focus on nutrition as part of your healing process and battle with cancer. Can your oncologist recommend a dietician/nutritionist? -
11 months post op and 168 down! Fantastic work. What tip's or changes helped you to get the results that you have?

Eating Way too Much and Always Hungry
Healthy_life2 replied to ahipchik1965's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No shame in recognising old behaviors. I think many of us have found out that we can tolerate almost anything. It's pretty easy to get in extra calories. Over the years, I have lost some of the motivation and discipline. The days of rapid weight loss is gone. I'm missing the high from the honeymoon phase. I have a different type of surgery but, I can relate. I freaked out a bit when I saw my first gain. Let the fear of spinning out of control work in your favor to keep you maintaining your weight. My experience with maintaining seems to be chasing 10 pounds up and down the scale the last 3 years. It can be unnerving when you gain. -

Why are my neighbor's kids not wearing helmets...
Healthy_life2 replied to Apple203's topic in Rants & Raves
I get your rant. We do have laws and practices to prevent harm/death. I am an overprotective grandma. I cringe on seeing kids 12 and under walking my greenbelt/city trail unsupervised. This trail is not safe for adults to walk alone. -

Glad you are concerned. Talk with the parents. Report to CPS or law enforcement if you have concerns for their safety. -
You have our validation. You are on point with exercise, calorie intake, no sugar and carbs. Don't worry about the speed/rate of weight loss. You are doing enough to get yourself to gaol.

Healthy_life2 replied to Apple203's topic in Rants & Raves
I hope this rant is sarcasm. Or are you serious? Lack Helmets and homeschooling....Oh my. I'm glad people show concern for children, I've worked with criminals and victims of crime for years. I've seen far worse things done to children than being home schooled and fall off a bike. Any signs or evidence of actual physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse or trafficking to turn into CPS? I agree with @BigViffer on this. I grew up in the age of no seat belts, riding in the back of trucks, dodgeball, no helmets, knee pads or elbow guards when riding a bike. I'm not a delicate little flower. I'm a survivor! lol -
I feel so doomed
Healthy_life2 replied to NurseRosemary's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm not sure about you but shake never make me feel full or satisfied. Your restriction sounds like its doing it's job. Some things to try for hunger: Eat all the veggies you want. The bulk and fiber will give you the sensation of full also keeps your calories low to keep you in weight loss mode. Eat five to six meals. ( I eat about every two to three hours) Logging and staying within your calories/macros for the day. Raise your protein goal. keep healthy snack in the house to curb cravings - Example Salty and sweet - Beef/turkey jerky for salty. Dannon light n fit yogurt for sweet. Its work getting back the old discipline that you had in the beginning. It can be done. Wishing you the best, Jenn -
