    First workout at the gym

It will get better Sometimes your energy is lower while you heal and adjust to your calorie deficit. Its ok to start out slow and build up. You are going to get stronger as you progress.

    Anxiety/Depression after surgery

I don’t think you can predict if it’s going to get worse after surgery until you are post op. The psychologist gave you their professional opinion. Is it your choice or a required pre surgery? I had a counselor that help me deal with many aspects of rapid weight loss. Thankful she was there.
  3. Fantastic loss and congrats on getting your health back. The last pounds are frustrating. You have less body fat to burn my friend. It’s ok if its slow. You will get there.
  4. Weight gains can mess with your head, Right. This is a bump in the road. Just one more thing to overcome. Did you talk with your surgeon’s office about your iron levels and weight gain?

    Waist trainers

The corset is designed to move your rib bones over time. Reality, weight loss did more for my mid-section and shape than the waist trainer. Weight lifting was a game changer for my curves/shape. Also fills out my loose skin a bit.😉

    4 years post op nightmare

I’m sorry to hear you struggle. Regain can beat you down mentally. As you can see on the site, you’re not the only one with a regain or had a revision. Its not easy to get back on track.... its work. But, It can be done. It's not for me to say if you have stretched your surgery back to full size. That’s between you and your surgeon. You may want to consider counseling before a revision. If you’re eating behavior is not addressed, you may stretch your next surgery.

    4 years post op nightmare

We are not all doomed to regain after 4/5 year out. There is no need for revision if you follow your plan. Many of us have kept the weight off and maintain successfully.
  12. 5’3” 127 pounds. Your BMI is 22.5 Normal weight. For someone your height underweight is 104 pounds. BMI 18.4 You may want to research bariatric centers in your area or find a dietician that can help you out. If you don’t feel healthy at this weight, increase your calories and carbs to gain weight. If your restriction is still tight, Find less dense foods…Example peanut butter, sweet potatoes etc.

    Weight Loss Scale

Find what makes you comfortable. Some can weigh every day and can deal with seeing the weight fluctuations. If the scale is changing your mood/messing with your head, try weighing weekly. Yes, I weigh in the morning every day. It helps me maintain and has become habit over the years. I use a body composition scale (bed bath and beyond)– Weight, BMI, water weight, bone density and body fat percentage. Do I need all these stats, No. *laughing*

    Every Shake Gives Me...well...the runs.

If you have medical concerns about the runs and not absorbing your foods, you may want to contact your surgeon’s office. How far out from surgery are you? What food stage? What foods are listed to eat? The choices you make will be a factor in your health and long-term weight loss outcome.
  17. 55 down! you are doing great. There is no way to predict if or when a stall can happen. We are all different. Your best weight loss is the first months when your surgery restriction is tight. Your restriction will become less as you progress. Keep working your plan and the weight will come off. Embrace the stall link below. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/

    Post-Menopausal Women and WLS

Weight loss is different for each of us. There is no way to predict how much or fast you will lose. I’m post menopause and my weight loss was fast. I see others that have lost at a slower rate. It’s ok to lose slowly. What matters is losing the weight and getting healthy, Right?
  19. Who are these people that are on a no carb diet @summerset?
  20. If you read my entire post.. based on an estimate. Stated in the beging. All we can offer is our experiences and opinions. ALL opinions are valued. Even if we dont sgree. The fact is if you eat over your weight loss calories you gain weight. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Not anti carb. My comcern is 267 carbs in a day. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Calories TOO low?

Fear of weight gain should not get in the way of your surgeons’ instructions. Follow them to stay healthy during this process. All dieticians’ plans are different. Do I understand this correctly? Your plan says to eat 600-800 for your entire weight loss phase? Most plans are 1000 to 1200 in weight loss mode. Try upping your calories if that is what your dietician suggests. I would not stress about maintenance phase until you reach your goal.

Post Surgery Diet and Loss Rates

Welcome and enjoy your research. Try not to get hung up on how much you will lose and how fast. Age, sex, medical issues, medications body physiology etc. will be factors in how much you lose and how fast. The goal is to eat real whole foods. No one should stay on the first stages. Your diet will be sustainable long term. Your best weight loss is in the first stages because your surgery restriction is tight. Your restriction will become less over time and weight loss slows down. (this is normal)
  24. Why? I’m not sure if you are understanding what we are saying or if it’s something you don’t want to hear right now. Carbs will cause hunger. Soft foods will not fill your MGB. They slide right through. Dense protein and vegetables will help fill your stomach and help with hunger. Our advice is falling on deaf ears. Your nutrition’s plan is high carb and not to log your food. We can see why you can eat as much as you do, we can see the foods that have you hungry and starving.
  25. Its fine that you decided to follow what you have been eating. All nutritionists/surgeons’ plans look different. We are sharing our surgeon's plans and experience. What works for us may not work for you. Take what’s useful and ignore the rest. If your plan is high carb then you are doing phenomenal. Follow it. It’s not the pretzels that is causing all your carb intake, you are consuming an excess carbs found in the other foods you listed. If you are not logging how do you know if you are eating 1200 calories and what your carbohydrate intake is? I can also eat soft foods in the amount you are talking about. The soft foods and carbs will continue to make you hungry. An option to try is dense protein (not soft slider foods) with some fibrous vegetable. This may help with your surgery volume (the ability to eat as much as you are in one sitting) and help satisfy hunger. Hope you see the scale moving down again soon.
