    Hanging skin

You can Google loose skin after bariatric to get an idea of what best and worst case senerios can look like. Loose skin is an unkown factor of your weight loss. Age, how long you have been obese and amount of weight lost will be factors. Plastics are an option. Self pay. Some insurance companies cover if the skin csuses mobility issues or rashes. 2. You should be ecstatic. Pretty amazing when you hit goal, Right? Goal weight is a personal choice. Find whatever weight you feel comfortable and healthy at. How I have managed to maintain? I think it has been the members that came before me. I’ve learned from the successes and mistakes. I am realistic that anyone of us can gain weight back. I had a gain my third year. I came back to the site for support. I’m back to maintaining in the 130s How is my sleeve surgery restriction? My restriction has become less over time. ***It’s nothing like pre surgery*** My maintenance plan is adding more calories and low glycemic carbs to slow/stop weight loss. I eat dense protein and as much veggies as I like to fill the extra room in my pouch, stay satisfied, and not go over my maintaining calories/carbs. When or if you experience less restriction with the sleeve. Watch for grazing/eating around your surgery. You will not feel surgery restriction if you eat small portions all day long (healthy and unhealthy choices) that total over your weight loss calories and macros. The sensation is as if you never had surgery. It’s a major cause of weight gain with any type of surgery. Some things you may already know or to prepare for in maintenance phase: It may be hard to transition out of the ingrained six months of “bariatric weight loss rules” Maintenance is a different mindset. Fear of weight gain can be an issue. Choose a weight bounce range to maintain. (I maintain ten pounds up and down the scale.) It may take some time to learn trust yourself and relax. Find your balance. Know that you can work the bounce range and keep your weigh off. We get to indulge within reason and not feel guilty about it. If the scale moves up, get back in weight loss mode to bring it down. If you have a gain or need motivation to maintain, you always know we are here.

Reaction from friend: I want the old <you> back

People are awkward about weight loss. They don’t always handle comments/complements well. It’s hard enough for you to deal with your changed appearance. Some comments are just not helpful.

  10. No need to feel guilty. You don't owe an explanation or apology to anyone. It's funny when people ask about your diet or what you're doing to lose weight. They glaze over because it's actual work. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Protein goals and Fruit

You are a bad ass doing boot camp. Keep your dietician updated on your fitness program and calories burned. See what they suggest. Your stats say you have 55 to lose. (Not sure if that’s correct) If you choose to take your trainers advice and up your calories, protein, and carbs. keep and eye on the scale to see if it slows/stops your weight loss. Your diet may change and evolve as your fitness level increases. You will be looking at your calories burned, metabolic rate and fitness goals. @BlueCrush is a great mentor.

How are you getting in enough protien

By the way eight months out and 167 down..WOW, fantastic! Sounds like you still have great sleeve restriction. If you can’t hit a protein goal, you can always add a shake to bring the number up. Most dieticians want us to ditch the process shakes and bars and eat whole foods for a long-term sustainable diet. Your restriction may become a bit less as you progress. It may get easier to get food in. Hope you figure this out. Let us know what your dietician suggests.

How are you getting in enough protien

You can always call your dietician for clarification. I'm a sleeve. My dietician set 60-100 grams for male and female patients. (all surgeons have different plans. )According to your stats you are approaching goal. Your diet plan is going to change again to maintain your weight.

How are you getting in enough protien

60 to 100 is my dieticians standard for male and female sleeves. Whatever his/her dietican sets his protein goal at. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

How are you getting in enough protien

60 to 100 grams of protein is a normal range from dietitians.. if you can hit that goal with real food there's no need for shakes or protein supplements. Without logging I hope you're hitting that goal. Your surgeon should have let you know that the hair loss is normal. It will stop and your hair will grow back in Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Protein goals and Fruit

Hi Tom, So you're a few months out and still in weight loss mode. I would follow your bariatric dietitians advice and hold off on following a trainer's advice. Log your food in a food app. Track your carb intake. If you're adding fruit as a part of your carbs make sure they stay within your weight loss carb ratio Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anxiety/Depression after surgery

It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Even if its just going through the motions for approval. Hopefully you get something out of the sessions. This is just another hoop to get to surgery.
