Had Emergency Surgery Just Now
Healthy_life2 replied to FluffyChix's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@FluffyChix I'm sorry to hear you developed a complication. Rest up and recover.** What you wont do to get a few pounds off, Just kidding.**😉 -
Sounds like you are in the norm at three months out to me. What you are describing is common for the sleeve. Your restriction relaxes you progress out from surgery. (it’s not back to full size) It’s a bit alarming when you experience this sensation for yourself, Right? *If anyone thinks they stretched their pouch have it diagnosed by a surgeon* (its rare) I hit two points where I notice my restriction was less. 3rd month and again in my 6th month. If you are following your plan and staying within your weight loss calories and macros, you will continue to lose weight.

How many calories do you eat a day?
Healthy_life2 replied to april042019's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Five years out –I mix cardio and lifting 4 to 5 days a week. Right now I’m back in weight loss mode ( 6 pounds to lose) Today 1,142 calories. Ran hill intervals burned 674. Weightlifting 35 mins. -
Many people with the sleeve lose weight and keep it off. Link below may help with perspective https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/423992-what-you-had-no-surgery-complications/?tab=comments#comment-4758950

Any veteran gastric balloon patients? I was wondering how things are going long term with this procedure. I know there are risks with all bariatric surgeries. The FDA released this update in August 10th 2018 https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/update-potential-risks-liquid-filled-intragastric-balloons-letter-health-care-providers-0

When can I have some rice? Lol
Healthy_life2 replied to dpendleton02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call it what you want, We are all on a “restricted diet”. We are eating within our weight loss/maintaining calories and macro’s. Not sure why dietitians’ plans are so controversial. -
For me, Snacks and healthy foods are a personal choice. It depends on how “clean do you want your diet” Snacks that are whole foods only or a combination with sugar free products? Some can stop at one hersheys kiss. (not my reality) My snacks may not work for others: Strawberries dipped in sugar free chocolate syrup - Quest protein tortilla chips dipped in salsa. Veggies dipped in hummus, sugar free popsicles, deviled eggs. jerkey

All plans are different. Trust your medical professional before anyone’s opinion. Eat what’s on your plan. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. No ones plan is better than anyone elses. *eye roll*🙄.... No one on this forum or in the USA is on a “NO CARB diet” Carbs sources may look different on each plan. Many of us are successful on our dietitian’s low carb plan. I have no reason to bash any medical professional’s bariatric instructions. We are adults, choose how strict or lax you want to work your plan. These choices will affect your weight loss surgery outcome. Things to think about: Are your food choices slowing/stopping your weight loss? Are extra carbs and real sugar causing cravings/hunger? Are you able to stop at one indulgence item - will you continue to make it an entire meal or eat over your calories? Can you keep food items/choices and stay within your calorie/protein/carb goals? My maintenance food plan looks much different than weight loss mode. I eat low glycemic carbs to slow/stop my weight loss, (Sweet potato, brown rice whole wheat breads and pasta nothing white or processed). Rice expands in the stomach and bloats me. I’d rathe have other carb sources. -
What was your moment?
Healthy_life2 replied to TattooedSeaStar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I yoyo dieted most of my adult life. After my kids and a few traumatic events my weight escalated. I lost the motivation to lose it. I knew I was significantly overweight. If I could have lost it on my own and maintained my weight, I would have done it. My “moment” 254 morbidly obese and a type one diabetic. I went into diabetic ketoacidosis. Eight days in Intensive care, my vital organs where systemically shutting down and My heart stopped. Dr’s brought me back. Nothing like a near death experience to give you a reality check. I had surgery in 2014 I get this second chance in life. I’m still maintaining and I don’t take my health for granted. -

about me: HW-254 CW-133 Weightlifting competitions are out for me. I’m keeping it real at age 50. I will never see abs under my mid-section/loose skin. I am more than happy to have this fitness level. I hope to keep it going as long as possible. My goal is to be a bad ass 70-year-old. -

Loved your video, What can a girl say, I also like shiny things I do distance runs Half/full marathons and Mountain incline trail runs. I seem to be the contradiction in the weight room. Everyone says do less cardio. I need ideas on how to gain muscle and keep distance running. Diet advice would be fantastic. My diet changes with what I’m doing, Carbs/calories increase on long runs. Fall winter I do less cardio and more lifting. I still struggling with letting myself gain weight. I need to get out of that mind set because I’m retaining muscle and not gaining any at this point. -
