    Backsliding... What do I do?

My opinion has more to do with extra sleeve stomach space years out. Nothing about you personally or your experience.

    Backsliding... What do I do?

Only my opinion years out, The calories and macros that get your body into weight loss mode will be specific to you. Much of it has to do with metabolism. Log your food and dial your calories up or down by 100 and see where your body loses weight. Understand that 650-850 is not the norm for weight loss calories years out. Find the range that works for you, pouch reset diet. Its going back to liquids and progressing through food stages. It’s just a way to get back into healthy habits. For some they feel their restriction better. It does not shrink your pouch. You can get back into healthy habits with real food stage without feeling the hunger of a restricted liquid diet. Go back to real food basics.

    Issues ordering

Most restaurants will accommodate kids’ meals or bariatric cards. There are always some that won’t. I order an appetizer, side dish or share a plate with my husband. I usually order full size meal, swap the carbs out with veggies and take the leftovers home for no cook meals later.

The salmon was a convenience cooking day. I purchased it at the fish market. It was pre seasoned on a cedar plank. Took it home and put it on the grill.

    should i intervene?

You can support your co worker. It's up to the family to do an intervention. If they dont know how to start the process, send your co worker resources in your area for alcoholism. There are also support groups for family members. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Maintaining weight when working out

I should have been more specific. IDK - it’s only a suggestion. The OP is 5’7” 118 pounds (BMI 18.5) this is one pound from an underweight BMI. Four scoops of weight gainer is 700 calories.. If you add less scoops you can find the ratio where you gain weight. You are right, No need to do the full 700. It may help get in calories when you have tight restriction. To each their own.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

August 19th Happy Monday! It's 4:25 am - August challenge goal 5 pounds (maintaining my bounce weight) Starting weight 140 BMI 23 Today’s weight 136 BMI 22.6 I think I’m past the detoxing crankiness. Sunday was rest day. Heading to the gym at 5:30 am – I have a half marathon with my team on the 27th. I’ve increased my distance and today is a lifting day. Treating myself. Is it ridiculous that I hatted going to a coffee shop on my own when I was at my high weight? At noon I’m sneaking off to my favorite place for a café latte with almond milk. Its great to feel comfortable in my own skin and relax.

    Backsliding... What do I do?

I'm sorry your struggling, You have done fantastic. 158 pounds is phenomenal. You acknowledged the backslide and you are right on top of it. Build yourself up. Seven pounds is not a large gain. You got this. Stress/emotional eating. Some of us get counseling/therapy, read self-help books or listen to podcasts. Years out I have less surgery restriction. I eat protein, the items on my plan and fill the extra space with as much veggies as I want. I keep healthy options for sweet and salty on hand for cravings. You are right. Getting back on track is not a simple snap of your fingers. You may need to get your head back into the game. @FluffyChix started a great thread on doing the importance of doing the head work. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/425354-the-importance-of-doing-the-head-work/ I hope you find what works for you, Jenn

    Maintaining weight when working out

Congratulations on goal. Are you working with a trainer or on your own? You may want to make an appointment with a sports medicine dietician or a trainer that has an education in nutrition. It will take grazing and a bit of trial and error to figure out what works for you and your sleeve. This would be great question to post maintaining thread. Link below https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/425802-the-maintenance-thread/?tab=comments#comment-4782396 I hit goal at six months out. My surgery restriction was tight. It took grazing and carbs to slow/stop my weight loss. Years out, I have less sleeve restriction. Getting nutrition in to lift or distance run is easier over time. After hitting my weight loss goal, I started making fitness goals. I love seeing results. Muscle does not happen overnight. Its helping to fill out my loose skin *smile*

    Judgemental Docs

Congrats on 3 days out. Vent away! Many Dr’s have no bed side manor. I would have told her to shut it, I’m not here for your personal opinions. Its a similar situation where I live. My bariatric office will not work with patients that have surgery out of the country. They refer patients from Mexico to their family physician. If they have complications they have to look into surgeons outside the bariatric program.

    Looking into skin removal

By the way, you look beautiful. Amazing results with your weight loss. I’m also in the research phase for plastics. I found a website called realself. You can research procedures, see before and after’s and find surgeons in your area. Price will depend on surgeon and type of procedure(s) you choose. https://www.realself.com/ Best of luck to you, Jenn
