Weighing your food on a food scale
Healthy_life2 replied to chaibaix's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Two month out. Congrats! I don’t judge if people choose to log or not. We are adults and make our own decisions. Your first months is your best surgery restriction. You will be surprised at how much more food you will be able to eat as you progress. Don’t waste your first year of restriction. LOGGING: Any of us can gain weight by consuming extra calories or grazing. The only way you will know if you are eating over your calories is weighing and logging. Look up these food apps. (myfitnesspal or baritastic) NOT LOGGING: You can guess your calories and not know if you are getting in enough protein in. You will not know if you are eating enough or too little. This does not mean you have to log long term. Its to learn portion sizes and the basics of how to fuel your body after surgery. I'm five years out and maintain in the 130's. Logging has been one of the best tools available to me (besides my sleeve) I wish you the best in whatever you decide. -
Sitting at my desk and I hear stomach noises. I figured it was my sleeve. I looked over at my dog and realized it was her (This is my 5 pound dog)

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

Managing hunger is an individual thing. I have been burnt out on the same grind for some time. I needed to change. Glad I looked into this. -

Yes, my restriction is much less years out. (except for the last few days) If I stay within my weight loss/maintaining calories, I can eat more volume and lose/maintain my weight. I'm conflicted about giving advice on this site, it’s important to follow your dieticians plan. I was frustrated by my teams one size fits all maintaining instructions. They don't have the time to develop individual plans to fit each person’s needs. It’s been trial and error finding what works and I’m ok with that. -

This was supposed to be my large meal of the day. Protein 54 carbs 96 I’m questioning if my calories are too low. Time will tell. Dinner with hubby – I’m guessing about 30 mins to eat 4oz of lemon baked salmon, ½ cup of steamed veggies and two bites of potato. (Soft foods) 3 hours later bedtime snack - ½ cup Yogurt ½ of a banana 1 tablespoon muesli. My restriction may be the change to warrior diet. We will see if my volume changes again this month. -

Five years out - Snack - 3oz apple and a hard-boiled egg. Are you kidding me? I can’t believe I'm feeling full after a run. -

I have to thank you @FluffyChix and everyone else doing IF. Please give me a slap upside the head. I knew needed to clean up my diet. I was resistant, negative and kicking my teddy bear. My head space has been *kitten* for quite awhile. I figured out a meal plan that works for me with IF. I'm doing a modified warrior diet. I eat cleaner and my carbs are higher. My energy has increased in a short period of time. I'm feeling optimistic about things to come. Grateful for everyone’s support and tolerance. -

Where are my water guzzlers?
Healthy_life2 replied to Vance-666's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Five years out. I have a 2-liter running vest with a bite straw. I can finish it in about an hour and a half sipping. There is no way I can gulp the styrofoam cups of water on the route. -

Zucchini parmesan mini pizza. Had three and done. -
Did you ever think you would hear the words “you look too skinny”? At least you inspired her to get healthy. Sorry you are feeling this way about the comment. It’s hard enough for you to deal with the physical change. The comment was not helpful. It’s also hard for family to wrap their heads around our smaller size. Her comment may be because of her own weight issues. Unfortunately, you look too skinny/sick seems to be a common comment. Most people don’t know what a healthy BMI looks like.

My Plastic Surgery Thread
Healthy_life2 replied to sillykitty's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@sillykitty This is the surgeon I am looking into in Boise. He has package rates and lists the prices. Are his prices comparable to your consults? I have other surgeons for options. He seems to have the most experience. Package deal #1 After massive weight loss https://deansorensenmd.com/Procedures/Body/After-Weight-Loss-Surgery-Boise-ID Upper body (Liposuction, breast lift, tummy tuck, arm lift) Lower body (Liposuction, butt lift, thigh lift, lower body lift) The cost for a combination surgery to remove skin following a massive weight loss will vary. Certain factors such as the number of procedures performed (abdominoplasty, liposuction, thigh lift, etc.), combined with the number of surgical settings, hospital stay, anesthesia, etc., will play a role in determining the final cost. On average, patients can expect to pay at least $10,000-$15,000 or higher. Package deal # 2 Mommy Makeover: https://deansorensenmd.com/Procedures/Body/Mommy-Makeover-Boise-ID BREAST Conditions caused by pregnancy: Loss of volume and/or breast tissue, sagging and/or drooping, excess skin (ptosis), breasts that have become too large Surgeries to consider: Breast augmentation with implants, breast lift, breast augmentation with a lift, breast reduction surgery ABDOMEN Conditions caused by pregnancy: Excess fat and/or persistent bulge in the abdomen, sagging and loose skin, stretch marks and other unsightly skin irregularities Surgeries to consider: Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction of the abdomen LOWER BODY Conditions caused by pregnancy: Sagging skin and excess fat in the buttocks, hips and thighs Surgeries to consider: Lower body lift including liposuction and skin tightening of the buttocks, hips and thighs Mommy makeover procedures will vary in cost depending how many surgeries were combined and how many surgery sessions are needed. At a minimum, if a breast lift with augmentation is performed along with a tummy tuck, the cost could range from $8,500-$17,000 -
You are not the only one. So glad to hear you are cancer free. I can understand your concerns about bleeding out on previous surgeries. You can talk with a plastic surgeon about this issue. IDK if there is anything besides surgery and loving yourself to deal with body issues. Counseling is an option. I was more than thankful to have my health back. I felt my skin was livable. My husband and my Dr. are the only people that see it up close and personal. *smile* I’ve waited five years after surgery to investigate plastics. Wish you the best in whatever you decide.

I jumped on the corset training band wagon after surgery. Honestly, weight loss gave me better results. -
The shoes and pants are WHBM. The pants I’ve had for three years. I started a capsule wardrobe – I have my standard uniform investment pieces with colorful accent pieces. I can mix them up to get different looks. I’m trying to see how many outfit combinations I can come up with.

Backsliding... What do I do?
Healthy_life2 replied to bookworm1983's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@FluffyChix Glad to hear you don’t take things personally. Simply the difference between sleeve and bypass extra stomach space. We are all different. All I said was your zone is not the norm - Not many people years out in that range,
