How do you deal with stress/anxiety without eating?
Healthy_life2 replied to Mrs. Reid's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish I would have known that you can go to your local barbaric support groups pre surgery.. Many other people in the same situation. I really could have used the support and information when I was loosing weight for insurance approval. I agree with @Kindle. Behaviors that have gotten us to the point of having weight loss surgery must be dealt with. I hope you find what work's for you. Jenn -
@@hamitchell Wonderful! I love to hear about others that have had success with surgery and getting their diabetes controlled. The health benefits are amazing. Thanks for sharing

@ Oooh..Ok, Let me explain I have lost 78 from surgery and 94 from my highest weight. Did not mean to mislead anyone. It's just the way I'm tracking.

Hi there, I'm a type one. I'm almost 5 months out from surgery. My A1C is a 5.9. Diabetes is well controlled. Work with your Dr,'s and Dieticians. Each of us will experience WLS and diabetes differently. I used two types of insulin before surgery. I'm now taking one at a much lower dose. I am experiencing lows. My dietician has added carbohydrates to every meal. I eat my Protein first and a small bite of potato. I work out about an hour and a half six days a week. I now eat a small amount of carb's before and after I work out. It has kept the lows away. If my blood sugar drops rapidly I drink watered down orange juice or a glucose tab. My family Dr. is amazed at what this surgery has done for my health.

Oh yeah. The girls are gone. All I can say is thank goodness for bras at my age:) Not only mourning the boobs. I need to find a way to let my old self go. I don't recognize myself. It's more than the weight loss. I have become a new me on the inside. I look back and have some sadness for the person I used to be. How do you let your old self go when you have become a new person?

What’s Your Halloween Plan?
Healthy_life2 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just not tempted. Like others here I have great alternatives. -
Sorry I'm a gal. But I wanted to respond. I'm in that phase now. So far I'm managing it fine. I use a over the counter product for men or women to hide the thin spots:)

Thank you so much Susan for another challenge. I am so in!

wow you have done fantastic! Congrats~ the scale stopped on me a little while back. Yeah I have had to work harder. The honeymoon is over:) I stepped up my workout. I change up the types of workouts I do. I'm always pushing up the resistance on the machines. Lot's of Water....It has seemed to get the scale moving again.

Congradulations on your 47 pounds lost. I understand the fear of gaining weight back. I have gained small amounts and plateaued. I just keep plugging away at what I need to do. Enjoy and do something special for yourself each time you reach a goal. You have done great things. Keep it up:)

@@poohbear1019 I so get the wanting to tone up. I'm new to weightlifting. I use the weight machines at my gym. They seem a bit more user friendly. I'm working on my core right now. Have you looked up any youtube videos on weightlifting workouts?

Have not lost appetite; weight loss stalled at 50.
Healthy_life2 replied to robisfubar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Forsythia @@robisfubar I agree with forsythia. I'm almost 5 months and it gets harder at this point. I'm out of the honeymoon stage when all is going well. I'm now in the reality stage that this is not another diet and it takes work. -
Have not lost appetite; weight loss stalled at 50.
Healthy_life2 replied to robisfubar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@robisfubar I'm sorry for youre stuggles. Ok...I'm no expert. Just some things to think about. Track food! love my fitness pal for tracking its makes things so simple.. How many carbs and fats are you eating? Some people are carb sensitive. Once you add them it triggers hunger and weight gain. How many calories Vs How many calories burned? How much exercise is required on your drs plan? Mine is 6 days a week at a hour minimum. Starvation not an option for me. Besides messing up your metabolism it triggers more hunger and sets me up for failure. You are lossing weight! woohoo go you. Never stop never give up. You have invested the money into this. Invest the time into yourself. you are so worth it. Wishing you the best, Jenn -
Congrats! welcome to the otherside.

Here is my sugestion for what its worth:) --->Get back to basics. Track your food. Change up the type of exercise you do daily. Up the resistance on exercise machines. Just keep doing and don't give up! the scale will move. -
