Past original goal, what decides when weight-loss stops?
Healthy_life2 replied to PlzCoolerMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@PlzCoolerMe No judgment from me:) Congrats on you're success! A healthy BMI is a good indicator of goal range. The exact scale number..you get to figure out what weight you are comfortable at. -
Read if you've reached your goal lbs.
Healthy_life2 replied to Aribay1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Aribay1 I reached my goal weight (140lbs) at 7 months out. For my first birthday after surgery I learned how to kayak in my gym's swimming pool. What do you have planned for you're birthday? -
I'm with you. I am just keeping up with my healthy plan. Plateau's have been on and off with the process. I'm also in my eighth month they seem to be harder to break.

Scale has not moved. Why am I still dropping in size?
Healthy_life2 posted a topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Am I overreacting? I am at a healthy BMI..... I'm approaching 8 months out. I was a jean size 5/6 at 140. I am working with a trainer. I have reduced cardio and concentrating on weight lifting. I am adding carb's. I get about 1000 calories in. I'm still bouncing around 140's . I'm now a jean size 1/2 and my husband say's my face is looking skeletal. I want to look healthy not sickly. I still freak out when the scale moves up. My head is messed up from being morbidly obese.......This situation is also messing with me. -

@@JamieLogical Thanks. I feel more relaxed about this. I found a body fat calculator on the web. http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/body-fat-percentage-calculator It's the best I can do for now. My question is how do you get body measurements with the bariatric loose skin issue? I'm at a 24% body fat (with my loose skin measurements)The average body fat percentage for U.S. females is around 32%, with the ideal at 22%. Athletic females should be around 15-20%. -
I'm with you. Thin hair before surgery and thinning more with weight loss. I have clip in extensions. I wear them on special occasions. Mine only make my hair long. They do nothing for my thinning hair. I hope to get my hair in shape for valentines day. I looked up on the internet about growing you're hair long. I'm doing a challenge on not using heat/ styling appliances on my hair. I use a Moroccan argan oil deep conditioning treatment over night two days a week. After washing my hair I use heat protector. No styling for now. The shedding has slowed a bit. I don't think there is much we can do about the hair loss. I hope it will stop soon.

6 months post-op today! Living on the other side for half a year...
Healthy_life2 replied to Blazzrr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Blazzrr Rock you're 50's life is far to short. What have you been aching to do but you have put off due to career, family and weight? What do you want to do before you're 60th birthday? It's not so much looking at future goal's (goals are still a great thing) It's the hear and now savoring life before it's gone. This age has been the best time in my life. I'm far more relaxed. I have wasted many years. I don't want to have regrets. -
I had thin shoulder length hair before surgery. At three months the hair loss started. I'm not a spokes person for this product. But I use Topix hair fibers for men and women. It does the trick. I'm almost 8 months out and hope my hair will grow back soon.

You know you lost weight when

When you step off the treadmill at the gym and the person next to you thanks you for keeping them on the treadmill for an hour. You talk more and find out they are a physical fitness teacher. -

@@Swampdoggie I attend our local support groups, cooking classes and behavior change sessions. The group is made up of people looking in to surgery, people loosing with bariatrics and people that are year's out. It has been key to my motivation and keeping me on track. I have reached goal and plan to continue to go.
