Maintaining: losing a weight bounce. Stuck at 139lbs. I’m being honest with all of you and owning my food choices. I’m working on getting my motivation back. It’s hard to give up the calories and carbs after last month’s family wedding, travel, Oktoberfest party and distance run carb load. Time to get my head back in the game. I have goals! Birthday in November and I bought this dress for New Years. Not age appropriate and not sorry.
-
Great maintaining mindset. You get to indulge and live life. Trust yourself to get back on plan. You can work down a slight gain. Enjoy your big weekend party.

Eight months and doing phenomenal. Cheering you on to hit your 1 pound goal by your birthday. You get to decide when to start adding calories/carbs to maintain. Last pounds are frustrating, right *smile* Whatever BMI you want to maintain is great. You’re in a healthy BMI zone with wiggle room.

Amazing! Way to go. Be extreamly proud of what you accomplished and how far you have come. Congrats. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

I hope you join us in the maintenance thread set up by @ms.sss https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/425802-the-maintenance-thread/?tab=comments#comment-4782396 I’m a type one diabetic. Messed up metabolism pre and post-surgery. Each of us find a carb ratio that works for our bodies to slow/stop weight loss. I know you can do this and keep it off. You have put in so much work.

Morning @Sheribear68 Congrats on being so close to goal. Amazing work! I understand the fear of carbs. You will find your balance with it. Many people will help you transition into maintenance. I hope my post didn’t scare you about carbs. I carb load for seven days pre-half marathon. It’s a necessity for me to stay healthy and fuel a run. I have worked this same bounce down over the years. it’s a normal part of distance running and maintain for me. It’s also proof you can work a gain back down.

Welcome to the site Many of us have experienced a weight gain. Its great that you have reached out and working on getting it back down. Pouch reset is going back to liquids and progressing back out to real food stage. (It does not shrink your pouch) It may help you feel your restriction a bit. Its one way to help get back to healthy behaviors. Another option is to start at real food stage if you feel reset is too restrictive. Some choose to change diet plans Keto, paleo, vegetarian,IF, whole 30 etc. Only my opinion. Whatever diet you choose, The key is logging your food in an app and staying with in your weight loss calories/macros. Basics: Food plan, exercise, hydrate You know what to do but it may be difficult to get your head back in the game. A few threads on the site that may help. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/425354-the-importance-of-doing-the-head-work/?tab=comments#comment-4776743 https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/428113-🍁-oct-2019-challenge-🍁/?tab=comments#comment-4815439

HELP need people who had big weight loss with sleeve and restriction??
Healthy_life2 replied to New&Improved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Mikeyy Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Most of us have pre surgery anxiety and question our decisions. Its normal. Both surgeries are great options. I’m a sleeve five years out. I have less restriction but its still there. (My stomach is not back to full size) I’m still maintaining my 120 pound loss. @catwoman7 has Bypass and experienced less restriction. Weight loss is not restriction alone. It's eating your food plan and stages, staying with in your weight loss/maintaining calories, behavior change, vitamins, exercise and hydration. This is the same with any type of surgery. Here is a video that may help. -

The Beginning of my Journey
Healthy_life2 replied to Aodhanmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A few questions for you all. 1. Did you work on weight loss before your consultation? I’m afraid that I will have a tougher time losing the prescribed weight before surgery if I’m working hard on weight loss now. I waited until after my consult. I had a six-month supervised weight loss requirement from my insurance company. 2. How long did you stay in the hospital after your gastric sleeve surgery? Two days 3. Does your weight loss team offer support groups? If so are they worthwhile? My team has support group, behavior change and cooking classes. If you have a local group,...go check it out. -
