Figuring out what your weight loss looks like
Healthy_life2 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm having a hard time finding pictures that have my body type. I'm glad to know I'm not the only person interested in seeing this stuff. My husband is sick of me asking "do I look like that" and pointing to a random person. I just don't have a good understanding of what I look like. -

Decisions decisions...
Healthy_life2 replied to Big Opie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Big Opie I had the sleeve. I had the sleeve because I'm a type one diabetic and still have to eat sugar when my blood sugar levels are low. I wanted to avoid dumping syndrome. I'm happy with my choice. So far no complications. -
What Can I Expect
Healthy_life2 replied to pittielover74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@pittielover74 Expect the pain to be temporary and your results will be amazing. First few months the weight came off quickly I was not hungry had low energy. At 3 months..Honey moon was over I felt more hunger and the weight did not come off unless I pushed myself at the gym. Energy was fantastic with real food. You will have stalls they will break. at 9 months out I am dropping past my surgery goal and on to my personal goal. -
New to all this...and with a few questions
Healthy_life2 replied to rattlingwalls's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
instructions to eat 3 meals a day with 1-2 Snacks, eating Protein first and up my exercise, as well as creating one nutrition and one exercise goal for myself. Sounds like your Dr is prepping you for how you will eat after surgery. (1) you are awaiting approval from insurance..Make sure the instructions to skip lab work/nutritionist/psych was correct. (2) Start with eating 3 meals protein first. You can research bariatric recipes to get ideas what to eat. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ (3) exercise goal. Pick an activity put it in action (4) nutrition goal. Might add more vegetables Ultimately the decision of what type of surgery is up to you. He gave you a few suggestions. Would be a good idea to research the surgeries. Find out what would be best for you. -
@@JamieLogical Fantastic! Spring/Summer will be perfect weather for running. I have been looking at my local running events. I'm doing the shamrock shuffle 5K tomorrow. I'm so excited for you. a 5K every month. Post some pic's if you have time. I would love to see them. What do you think of the C25K app? Is it easy to use? Once you are doing a 5K do they have another app for longer distance run's? (I will look it up)

Eating Boudin.....?
Healthy_life2 replied to Joey Jackson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm no expert...I have been told Rice is not very sleeve friendly. It expands. Anyone else get this as an instruction? Rice is an ingredient used to make boudin. I started adding carbohydrates after I lost 75% of my weight. I can tolerate brown rice at 9 months out. -

What’s Your Relationship with Exercise?
Healthy_life2 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
True Love - Exercise was a requirement at first. I have traded years of food addiction to gym addiction. I'm a stress eater. No cookie or pizza has ever helped me cope with stress like working out does. I have a distance run to raise funds for Vets. March 14th. The shamrock shuffle. Great charity and a good time at a beautiful winery. Just having fun with it and I'm involving my friends and family. -
Weight loss phase little to no carbohydrates. My nutritionist had me add a small amount of carbohydrates back in after I lost 75% of my weight. two table spoons one meal per day. Each Dr. seems to have their own instructions.

Love reading all the responses. I'm working on my body issues with a therapist. I have day's where I still see myself as big. I am also saying ten more pounds. I think it's me that has to be comfortable with my body and not with a number on the scale.
