    NSV shout outs

After a long winter of working out in my gym. I now see many new faces working out to get ready for summer weather. I was on an elliptical I had my resistance setting maxed. The woman next to me finished and walked up to me and said Thanks for inspiring me to stay on the elliptical longer. She kept saying I was in great shape. I thanked her. It's strange to hear those words used to describe me. It felt good.

What is your TRUE weight loss goal?

Like many here, My reasons for WLS - My health and to get back into living my life. My goal weight was set at 140. (The weight I was in high school) After reaching goal, My last surgeons visit he mentioned if I lost ten more pounds I would be at my Ideal weight. I have been struggling for the last three months trying to loose ten pounds. My body seems to be settled on where I am. I exercise and eat healthy. I am happy with that. My goal now is to live it up! participating and enjoying new experiences.

Jenn1, they always could see your flaws, but now they can also see your success. When you stand in front of the audience, remind yourself of how awesome you are and tell yourself that few in the audience could do what you have done.

    OUT OF CONTROL! HELP

@@rdy4chng The only person that has to be happy with your results is you. We all have stressful lives. Its all a choice of what you want out of this and if you are willing and ready to put the hard work in. Making changes of how you handle stress is a good place to start. Instead of stress/emotional eating choose an activity to replace that behavior. You mentioned you have never worked out. Maybe its time to try it. Its an excellent way to release stress. Walking and advancing to what ever activity works for you. Wishing you the best, Jenn

    Relationships

@@JPF1961 I understand what you are going through. Just know that with this process of weight loss surgery things will come up that you have to deal with and change. I'm thankful for the weight loss but I'm even more thankful to have a happy and positive out look on life again. Relationships have been improved. I date my husband again. I take my kids to the gym and outdoor activities. I take time to talk to strangers. When you are feeling good and are in a better place mentally people respond to you in a more positive way. There will always be people who want to tear you down. I just choose to keep my positive high and keep positive people around me.

@@M3l1 easy to find bariatric friendly deserts..Just google it pumpkin Cheesecake pudding Parfaits 1 (6-ounce) container light vanilla Greek yogurt (I like Dannon Light ‘n Fit) 1 (4-serving) package sugar-free instant cheesecake pudding mix 1 1/2 cups low-fat milk 4 ounces light cream cheese 1 cup pumpkin puree 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice Can add Protein powder What are meringues anyway? They don’t have any flour. They don’t have any fat, (except if you dip in them in something like . . . dark chocolate!) Meringues are egg whites (all protein) whipped up like crazy, with added cream of tartar, salt and sugar substitute, then mounded on a baking sheet and baked . . . forever! They take about an hour and a half in your barely hot oven (225 degrees F) and then you turn your oven off and let them sit for ANOTHER hour, cooling down. It’s a crazy way to make Cookies, but the end result is nothing short of YUMMY! Your kids will love these lighter-than-air, chewy, sweet goodies, almost like cotton candy except with a heck of a lot more protein! WINNER! Print Dark Chocolate-Dipped Almond Meringues Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes Yield: 2 dozen Dark chocolate glaze: Dark Chocolate-Dipped Almond Meringues 4 large egg whites 1/4 tsp cream of tartar 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup spenda or stevia 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp almond extract 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa 1/2 cup 72% cacoa dark chocolate chunks (I broke up 4-5 squares of Ghirardelli Twilight Delight) Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper, securing with masking tape. To Prepare Meringues: Beat egg whites with a mixer at high speed until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt; beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar substitute, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form (do not overbeat). Gently fold in vanilla and almond extracts and cocoa. Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Place in preheated oven. Turn temperature to 225 degrees F and bake 1 1/2 hours or until dry. (Meringues are done when the surface is dry and meringues can be removed from paper without sticking to fingers.) Turn oven off; leave meringues in oven 1 hour or until cool and crisp. Remove from oven; carefully remove meringues from paper. Cool completely on wire rack. To prepare glaze: Place dark chocolate chunks in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50% power) 30 seconds or until melted, stirring until smooth. Dip half of each meringue in chocolate. Place on wire rack to dry. Store in an airtight container. Notes When preparing these cookies, be careful not to overbeat the egg whites; properly stiff peaks will have the consistency of marshmallow cream.

When does the weight loss start?

@@faxxy Two weeks out? You are still recovering from surgery. Give yourself time. 40 to 60 pounds in 2 months? Look into statistics. And also realize that we all drop weight at different rates. Everyone would love the weight to drop quickly. Weight loss surgery is not a magic solution. Work the program your surgeons office have given you. You will be amazed with the results you get if you are willing to put the work in. Wishing the best for you, Jennifer
