The STRICT ones in first year......
Healthy_life2 replied to Lexuskela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Lexuskela I use fat free cream cheese. Just my preference. You can also break down the recipes into bariatric portions (I use myfitness pal) it may help to see if it fits your program. Karen is a nurse and dietitian with my surgeons office. In her cooking class she keeps us up to date on health trends.Trends change all the time. Whats good for us now may not be good in a few months.( Thanks to her I know more about cooking with coconut oil than anyone should..lol ) Each of our dietitians give different instructions on healthy eating. I like her approach on eating healthy. It should nourish your body and still be flavorful. With her recipes my weight dropped, I don't feel deprived and found that I enjoy cooking. Not sure if this helped. Just my take on her cooking. -
Long term "Success" of those who make it to goal vs. those that don't.
Healthy_life2 replied to JamieLogical's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@JamieLogical I believe none of us are exempt from weight gain. I have talked to my nurse from my surgeons office. Her opinion was patients that have gained weight may feel guilt or shame and don't report back on Dr's appointments or continue support. Being isolated most will have a substantial weight gain. I know my behaviors can slip back. Sometimes I need a reality check by the senior members. I also get inspiration from people that are currently dropping weight. -
Weight Loss Surgery and Self Harm
Healthy_life2 replied to billw0917's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@billw0917 Therapy/ counseling is a good option to deal with the mental/behavioral end of surgery. It is a good thing to prepare for stress/emotions/anxiety. I never found an "In the moment" way to deal with the stress eating issue. It was key to let go of the bad behavior and find a replacement. I hope you find what works for you. -
