What do you guys think about Sweet Potatoes?
Healthy_life2 replied to ThreeFifty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ I'm in maintenance. I love sweet potatoes. I have to keep my carbs in small amounts still. They trigger hunger for me. Oven roasted sweet potatoes. Cut sweet potatoes in bite size pieces Coat lightly with olive oil Season with toasted garlic, Montreal steak seasoning and parsley flakes Bake in the oven at 400 until browned and tender. If I eat more carbs I adjust my workout to burn it off. Its finding balance that works for you. -
@@lsubabe33 You are a work in progress. Its not how fast you lose weight. Its the fact you are losing weight. You already know what to do. Work your program and get out of the surgery what you want.

What’s the Craziest Thing You’ve Done to Get in Your Workout?
Healthy_life2 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Fitness & Exercise
craziest thing I have done to get my workout in... A guy at my gym has a fantastic fitness level. I have become his stalker (lol) I secretly compete with him when we are on treadmills. If I can out pace him or stay on my treadmill longer..It makes my day! I see no harm in my creepy stalker ways if it keeps me motivated. -

Dare I Ask?
Healthy_life2 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Threetimesacharm Obesity has taught me. I presented to everyone around me that everything was fine. The secret I held to myself was my life was a struggle every day. In my most human moments I wondered if it was worth living. ( yes dramatic) My health and depression were bringing me down. What I don't want to forget. How I became absent from my own life. I withdrew from activity's and social events due to embarrassment and health issues What did I envision. The reality of what it is like to be at a normal weight is better than any fantasy's I had pre surgery. I'm honestly happy. The changes on the inside were the best part of my surgery. Life is amazing. I'm always up for new experiences. -

How long did it take you to lose the last 10-15 lbs?
Healthy_life2 replied to lmm300missouri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@lmm300missouri 81 pounds in three months...Wow! nothing slow about that. . The smaller I became...It seemed harder to shake off the last 10-15 pounds to goal.. I'm not sure if it is because we have less fat to burn Nothing wrong with slow weight loss as long as the scale moves in the right direction. -

@@PBNB We have a class in my area on behavior changes. His take on night eating is it soothes you to sleep. It becomes a routine/Habit that you have to find ways to break. His suggestion is keep a piece of paper on the refrigerator. Log: your intensity of hunger on a scale of 1 t0 5 Log: Asking yourself is this emotional eating or soothing - Log what you are feeling at the time Log: if you choose to eat and how many calories. Looking at your log each time at night will give you an Idea of your reasons for night eating. It will also make you pause to do the log and the intensity to eat may subside.
