    Success is the best revenge

@@VSGAnn2014 I agree. I would rather build people up. I also plan to invest my time at the reunion with more positive people.
  3. Not sure if this is a NSV I was unpopular in high school. The weight was a factor. I have recently connected with some people from the small town I grew up in. A neighbor girl I grew up with, just posted a derogatory message to me on facebook. I was surprised it took me back to being the fat girl in school for a moment. Back when I was young her comment would have beat me down. It has no effect on me now. I make no apology’s for living a fabulous life. I'm proud of all I have worked for to overcome. I'm thrilled I look totally different than I did in high school. I'm more beautiful on the inside than I have ever been. I'm truly happy. Thinking about my class reunion next year--- She has given me great motivation to maintain and get out and experience life. From all the unpopular kids back in the day..I salute her for “believing” she is still the popular beautiful mean girl after 30 years.

    Running

@@HealthyRN Congratulations on your goal of a half marathon. This is how I sustain and fuel my body for runs..I'm no expert . Breakfast:- I eat a half packet of banana nut Protein oat meal and two turkey sausages The carbs help me to have the energy to run and sustain. I run 6 miles three days a week. I try to only have carbs in the morning. I drink a pre wok out sports drink.you can find many of them Pre work out explosion. It has 40 calories. The trade off for me is the amino acids. It fuels muscle growth and performance. Lunch:- I eat a high protein meal. Two packets of Thia tuna mixed in to my sunflower crunch salad. I don't run on a full stomach. Every half hour into running a use sports gel. (many different brands to try.) I keep them in my running belt. Right after my workout I drink a recovery whey isolate Protein Drink mixed with milk. dinner -High protein dinner with vegetables.

Who do you want to be after?

I am a girly girl with a serious shoe collection. I was amazed to find that I am an adrenaline junkie and a competitive bad ass. Who knew I would have an addiction to athletic clothing. I have a row in my closet dedicated to compression running shirts. I have a drawer full of yoga pants and shorts. My winter find was a pair of Betty Rides snowboarding pants.
  12. @@Lexuskela The deprivation diets made me focus way to much on food. I talked and complained exactly like your example. It was my focus before surgery. Now food is just a way to fuel my body ..I move on. What bothers me more is when I see the food commercials, pharmaceutical commercials that have a cure for anything, crazy diets commercials. Alcohol commercials that tell people that in order to have a good time you have to drink their brand. Drive down a street and count how many fast food restaurants do you see. Food cooking shows, Travel shows that highlight the best restaurants. Marketing to women to wear a certain style and size. I now watch netflix..NO COMMERCIALS~
  13. Another tip Protein always first. Eat foods high in fiber. vegetables, Beans legumes.(avoid the high fiber carbs bread etc) Fruit in small amounts. Veterans please help. Food question.

@@pr_pitbullgrl you can enter food into my fitness pal to see the nutritional values. its a good idea to get the advice you are looking for from your dietitian. Here is my two cents..lol You will be eating vegetables and carbs again. you will be looking at them in a new healthy way. Always Protein first. as you get further out from surgery you will be able to get your veggies in. The Fiber will help keep you feeling full. It will also help your digestion. Healthy carbs..I was told to add them when I lost 75% of my weight. Healthy carbs are whole wheat, brown rice and plant based..(Not deep fried) A meal for me now looks like this Protein - 4.5 oz Salmon fillet Vegetable - 1/2 cup Green Beans, sliced almonds and bacon bits Carb - 2 table spoons Roasted sweet potato Below is a photo to help visualize how to fill your plate. Hope this helps
