Do People Treat You Differently Now?

@@Alex Brecher Some day's the difference still surprises me . I have more value because I'm in a more acceptable package. People are so inundated with the media selling us we are not good enough. We are sold the image of what beauty is. We are sold that overweight is not acceptable. I will always appreciate the people that can get past the appearance thing.

How Many Calories One Year Out?

@@Indieflickers Many bariatric patients get into sports. My first local meeting I met a woman in her 60's that mountain biked across the state of Iowa.( who the hell bikes across Iowa lol) She also competes in the senior Olympics here in Idaho. She is a bad ass and my mentor. That is how I got into running and other sports. My weight has stabilized in the 130's with 2000 calories. I'm working out in the weight room at my gym. I'm good with gaining weight with muscle. Bring on the gain! I want to be a bad ass in my 60's

How Many Calories One Year Out?

@@Indieflickers Things look different if you have an above average fitness level. I see this question often on the forum. I'm not sure why most surgeons office's don't have the information on this issue. I started distance running 6 months out from surgery. I am now 1 year and 9 months out. I work with a sports medicine dietitian. On the days I run/workout. I burn 1000 in an hour. I eat up to 2000 calories. 150g of Protein - 200g of carbohydrates - 67g fat. On the days I don't work out I consume 1500 calories. The challenge is eating that amount with a tiny tummy. Years after surgery

@@Rvamom Enjoy researching! Here are a few websites that will give you an idea of what eating will look like while in weight loss phase. http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ I had surgery June 2014. High weight 255 Goal weight 140. I now maintain in the 130's. I'm healthy and living life with no regret. All of my past diets failed. Surgery helped me to understand the sensation of a FULL stomach. I'm not deprived. I still enjoy food. Eating healthy is full of flavor. I get adventurous and try many new foods/recipes.
  9. @@Unbridled I'm glad the information helped. Where are you at in the process of bariatrics?
  10. @@Unbridled If you choose to have an above average fitness level. The maintenance phase diet will not apply. I work with a sports medicine dietitian. Calories have increased. My macro nutrients are 40% Carbs - 30% Protein - 30% fat. Eating is an all day project with a bariatirc stomach. But it's worth it. hydration - I eat right after I have fluids. My instructions - don't drink while eating. Wait 30 min after eating before drinking fluids It will be trial and error to find what works for your body. Bra math - don't try this at home.

@@Sharon1964 Bra math hurts my brain. I did a bra fitting at Victoria secret. The correct size and fit helped keep the girls high and in place. My family Dr asked me today if I had a boob job.
