    NSV shout outs

Driving my car with my shis tzu in my lap. Still space between us and the steering wheel.
  2. @ Yes..Supplements for life. They are prescribed. You get nutrients from whey isolate Protein in the first phase (liquid diet) You progress to real foods as your stomach heals from surgery. All of the food stages provide nutrients. I'm a type one diabetic. I hardly use insulin. My A1C has been great after surgery.

    Waist trainers.....what's the scoop?

@@sassyfrass23 Good or bad,I'm an adult..I decided to give it a try.. I started waist training at 180lbs. It is a body modification. It will move your rib cage and bones etc. I went through two corsets. Moving to a smaller corset down was due to my weight loss. The loose skin will always be in my mid section. When I wear a corset the skin will move outside the top or bottom of the corset. It was not a good look on me. I had better results from working my core weight training. Under my loose skin is an actual waist. I can accentuate it with spnax. They do make work out corsets that target the waist...I never tried it due to the bulging skin at 135 pounds..lol https://www.orchardcorset.com/shapewear/tecnomed-workout-waist-cincher-0657/

So now that I'm maintaining a healthy size, I have an issue.

@@LipstickLady I have to see photos of your closet. My goal reward was a closet make over. I had my hubby hang a crystal chandelier. As a normal thin person, Not changing sizes helps me stay in maintenance. I don't want to replace my clothing because of weight gain.(see me justify my shopping addiction) I'm recently fell in love with Italian clothing. Simple with a statement piece (like shoes). A bit sophisticated to sexy. Summer clothing is unbelievably fun. No more hiding and covering up.(except for my loose skin areas) I have to confess the bottom row of my closet contains compression running shirts. My favorite second hand find was a pair of Betty Rides snowboarding pants. I'm not sure when my shopping will slow down. I'm making up for lost time. My clothing options were so limited before.

    My Unsuccessful Sleeve

@@k95 You are justified in feeling the way you do about your experience with surgery. I wonder is the sleeve was the correct procedure for you. This is an option to think about. You could try to get a second opinion on a possible revision. During my first lecture from my surgeons office. He explained the sleeve surgery first was designed for the super morbidly obese. The sleeve was the first stage until their weight was low enough for a malabsorption procedure. (Duodenal switch or roux en Y Bypass.) I can never walk in your shoes to know exactly what you are going through with this. I wish you the best. Jenn

ProudGrammy - Not teasing;) Dang sports injury. Like JamieLogical mentioned its typical with long distance. I have a race on May 7th and the 21st. My hope is they fall off before then. Christlnmo7 - A soak in epsom salt sounds good. I'm going to pick some up and talk a hot bath.

Are guys actually checking me out at the gym?

I have made friends with the regulars at my gym. The older guys keep the young guy's in check. (Oh to be young and full of testosterone ). When we get an influx of new people..(usually after new years) We have each others back when we get a creeper. The eye candy is a great motivator to get to the gym. The other motivator is to identify these types 0f people at the gym. The Creeping Gym Creeper Workout goal(s): be surrounded by spandex Post-workout ritual: re-applying cologne, asking if you come here often Wants to know: if you need a spot . The Barely-Moving Ellipti-Reader Workout goal(s): improve GPA, crush to-do list Post-workout ritual: finals Favorite time to work out: reading week The Couple on a Fitness Date Workout goal(s): get more quality time with their boo Post-workout ritual: sipping a single Protein shake from two straws Wedding guests, please save the following date: leg day The Toughest Man You’ve Ever Seen Workout goal(s): establish dominance Post-workout ritual: wrestle a grizzly bear All: blood, sweat. No: tears The Mansplainer Workout goal(s): explain to you how you’re doing that wrong, little lady Post-workout ritual: approaching women mid-workout to tell them they’d be prettier if they smiled Catch phrase: “Actually, sweetie…” 9. The Photo Documentarian Workout goal(s): get ripped, show self getting ripped Post-workout ritual: Choosing filters and captions Favorite hashtags: #sickabs #nofilter #sunsoutgunsout 11. @@Steph0625 I'm also working on eye contact. It's strange that I expect a negative reaction from men. It catches me off guard when its positive. Are guys actually checking me out at the gym?

@@Steph0625 You are attractive... After being invisible as an over weight person, The attention from the opposite sex is weird...Right??? lol I still question myself if I'm dressed appropriate, If my zipper is down or do I have something in my teeth. Can we agree men are the same creature from puberty on...To the guy's, let me know if you are offended or agree with that statement lol It takes time to wrap your head around attention. I had to learn how to take a complement. Compliment scale: Appropriate - Is appreciated. Except it and move on.. Hilarious - Makes for good stories to tell friends..Gives you a chuckle for the day. Creepy - Need I say more. I still have to laugh at how clueless I am about men. But if they look at this old chick it's a good day...
  19. @@theantichick I'm glad your are putting time in with your therapist before making a decision about your health. I don't see your post as critical of surgery at all. Doing your research has you on the right path. Here is my thought's..Most of us have an eating disorder that got us to the point of surgery. You only get out of surgery what you are willing to put into it. I don't put much faith in statistics. Success is up to you. I am almost 2 years out. I had a good nutritionist and aftercare/education. Learning to eat healthy was eye opening for me. I now look at food as fueling my body. ( A big change in my relationship with food) Cooking has become a norm. Food is still wonderful and flavorful. Here is a link to my nutritionists recipes. She gives a great cooking class in my area. Hope it gives you an Idea of what meals will look like. http://insidekarenskitchen.com/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ That learning phase..Yes I tracked and had to think about Protein etc. Since I've been in maintenance, My food choices are now automatic because I'm so accustom to eating healthy. I do not think about every bite (Quick meal for me is chicken fajitas - the family has the tortillas. I don't ). I have times I indulge. Just means I put some extra time in the gym if the scale moves up. My number one priority is getting out and living life.( not planning meals and gym time) So many things my body kept me from enjoying. I don't take my health for granted. I'm making up for lost time

  21. I would love to hear about your vacation adventures this year. I'm always looking for new places to explore. I'm home from a memorable 25th anniversary road trip with my husband. ( 8 days in a car and we did not kill each other ) Route 66, Las Vegas, Grand canyon and Tombstone. Indulged in alcohol and expensive restaurants. Still in love with my man! Enjoyed a pool party in Las Vegas. I was comfortable showing skin with the help of a few cocktails. Our anniversary dinner was at a french restaurant. I had escargots for the first time. Hiked areas of the grand canyon. A six pound gain in 8 days. I'm kind of shocked that was all I had gained. I was very naughty. My next trip, I hope will be a bit unusual and away from tourists.

    Gym life

@@emiroo I was walking right after surgery. Progressed on to other cardio workouts for an hour 6 days a week. If you still have your resistance bands from St Luke's. Its a good way to start toning until you are released to weight lifting. I'm now in maintenance. I jog 6 miles to 13.1 miles. I lift 3 days a week for an hour. The weather is getting nice in Boise. I will be out mountain biking, hiking and floating the river soon.
