Okay i had my last fill am at my goal weight etc. My concern now is that im at my goal weight but I cannot eat if I'm sitting down at all. I'm talking taking one bite and then puking that up. Sometimes at night I also wake up coughing and puking on stomach fluids. Should I get an unfill? I'm scared of course of gaining any weight back as I have my new clothes etc. but it is totally embarrassing to not be able to sit down at a meal with people without running to the bathroom to puke. Is this normal? Not normal? any experienced bandsters out there?

I am getting fills by Dr. Seville. I actually live in Marysville and am at my goal weight but I think I need an unfill a little bit. Anyway, glad to know there are others out there.

All frustrated October bandsters....

Thank you so much for the link to that list. I have had my first fill and have my second one on the 10th of dec. I was thinking I would have lost 10lbs by xmas but I haven't lost a thing since my first fill. I haven't gained either which is good. My MD told me that studies show the more small fills you have in the beginning, the better the long term results. I guess this is because you gradually get used to the way you have to eat as opposed to dealing with it all at once. I have a 10cc band and he put in 1cc the first fill. Mine was still full of air though which it is not supposed to be so he had to remove some of the air and replace it with saline. But I still ended up with 1cc over what I had with air/saline. I was wondering if I was normal and I can see that I am:) I keep reminding myself that this is a long process not an overnight one and I should plan on a year before I see a lot of weight loss. Remember we picked the band so we could lose the healthy way at 1-2 lbs a week with proper restriction. It will take a few fills for that type of restriction. I also feel like people are saying "have you lost weight yet?" And I'm like, I've only had one fill, it can be 3-4 before I have proper restriction (through gritted teeth). Well we have each other. Hand in there, the band will work, we just need to give it time.:clap2: -
Yeah, I had a chicken breast and it was not pretty. I can eat most other solids but the no no's (dry meat and pasta) I have to be very careful with even without fill. And I still sometimes eat too fast and that hurts.

Banded on the 5th and I can eat whatever i want to eat. I'm starving! I get filled on the 12th as well and I can't wait. I think people are all different at the rates they heal. We are all fast healers in my family so I should not be surprised at all. My incisions are all healed now as well so... I was told I could get my fill early but I didn't want to rush things at all so I am going to wait but patience is not my best quality. -
I was banded on the 5th and I was starving like two weeks out so I went to normal food right away. I can eat pretty normally although some things don't go down too easily and i still cant "binge" as i feel terrible pain afterwords. I ate pretzels the other day and i still hurt. i think it is gas pain. Anyway, I am so looking forward to my fill so I can start losing weight again.

I didn't have bandages over most of my cuts. I had one over the big incision but I only had to keep it on for a few days. I also don't have stitches though just glue. I still itch though so you are not alone there.

Day 4, post-op...and I'm craving solids!

Don't be so hard on yourself! This is a time to heal not lose weight until you've had your first fill. There is little or no restriction when they first put the band on so once the swelling goes down there is no or little restriction. Of course you are struggling, if you could stick to diets you wouldn't have needed a lapband. All of us are starving too just do your best. -
OMG I am itchy too!! lol it is driving me crazy! I'm 5 days post op and I felt way better this morning when i got up. The port pain has diminished significantly. I almost feel normal again. Thanks for the tip about drinking. I drink all the time mostly because I am starving. lol Hang in there everyone:)

Im so glad there are other starving people out there:) I got banded on the 5th and boy am i craving solids:) It has made me realize how food focused our society is what with commercials and all that. Most of the time I'm okay because I still don't feel 100% and the thought of slippage and vomiting are enough to make me not want to push myself on the diet end of things. Im on two weeks liquids and haven't even finished one week yet *sigh. Im getting some cream soup today but it is difficult and I'm glad I have you all to share it with. Hang in there everyone! We can do it together.:clap2: -
Im totally bloated/swollen too. I have a horrible headache as well. Im not sure I'm going to make it the whole day either. I'm just plain worn out and getting in and out of the car is a bitch:( Whew, nice to have people to gripe to  Im tired of the pain but my mom told me people are usually tired of pain before its tired of them. I guess it is more uncomfortable than painful. Anyway, Im still chugging liquids. Cheers!

Hey all, I had my surgery on the 5th and i am sore in the port area. It is more just uncomfortable than anything else. I also am back at work. My biggest thing is being tired. I slept for like 3 days then all the sudden felt energized. I couldn't sleep last night just cause I guess. No real reason. The liquids are fine they don't bother me. Im a drinker though so that could be why. Im glad I can add milk that will help tremendously. I get hungry but don't really want to eat so that is good I guess. I have lost 6 lbs thus far so yay! That is it for now. I'll see if I can make it all day at work today. I mostly just sit.:notagree

You are right:) I certainly dont want to gain weight;) quote=nicnaknut;570993]WELCOME Jamie and Misty... It's nice to have you with us... Misty.... That is great that you had such an easy time getting insurance approval, especially with your family history... This is the right step on your way to a healthier life.... Jamie.... I'm sure that you meant that you are supposed to get down to 134 and not 234.... Congrats on returning to school... That is wonderful that you are furthering your education as well as embarking on a new lifestyle change by getting the band... Good luck to both of you...

I suppose I should have introduced myself before I started posting. My name is Jamie I live in Kansas and am getting banded in Detroit on the 5th. I'm totally nervous and hope I am making the right decision. i am 29 years old and weigh 224 and I am supposed to get down to 234. I am single and a Library Director. i recently started back at school to get my PhD in Psychology. I guess I am starting over all around:) Anyway, I am glad I found this site. It is nice to talk to people who are feeling the same things I am feeling. We can carry each other.

OMG I know what you mean. I saw a pic of myself at a wedding shower and I was twice the size of all the other gals my age. I just hate the way i look when I'm fat. Im nervous about the band but I think it is the right thing to do. I have been fat my whole life. its time to start a new one:)
