  1. My stall came at my second week post op. Still on it- can't wait fr it to be over!
  2. HW-297 SW-281 (6/11/14) CW-269 Total loss- 28lbs Can't wait to get past the 260's- been in a week long stall that frustrates me to no end. Although 28-30lbs in one month, I WILL TAKE IT! Starting soft foods tomorrow and soooo soooo excited about this!
  3. That is really helpful for me! I don't know if everyone feels the same type of "freedom" with the softer foods. I guess my point is, I never feel the restriction most describe but I have read that it won't come until later. So it makes me hopeful that these feelings will come soon enough when I start on more solid food.
  4. So, I wasn't thinking, and just watching tv and I ended up eating 5oz of Greek yogurt pretty quickly (about5-10minutes). Nothing happened. I feel satisfied but not restricted. I'm only 5 days post op. Can y'all eat this much? I know that just because I can doesn't mean I should, I just truly wasn't paying attention. I guess I'm wondering if it's normal not to feel the restrictions as much on soft liquid foods?

    Not losing

Wow 37lbs is amazing! Just stay nice and hydrated! Congrats!
  6. I guess I didn't really think about my stomach being numb. So then does that mean I'll be able to eat a yogurt fairly quickly forever? I mean that would be a great snack and it does fill me up without killing me. Anyone know if they were able to eat one food in the beginning, does that mean they can always eat that same food with the same restriction feeling?
  7. No one knows about my surgery- even the friends I still talk to on a regular basis from high school who will be there tonight. I'm almost 2 weeks post op which means- no drinking and none of the food served there. Guess I will be sneaky and order my usual drink without the vodka (water and lime with a splash of cranberry). What's the hardest social situation you had to go through post op without letting on to surgery?
  8. No I am from Houston Texas! Gotta love HS reunions!

    Not losing

Surgery was June 11th. Lost 10lbs the first week just like you and haven't lost since then. And I am up 2 lbs. So yes, I am right there with you!! I finally hid my scale and much happier now. Look at your total loss (pre surgery and post) and divide it by the weeks you have been doing this. For me that's 30lbs in 4 weeks. So basically almost 8lbs a week. Never in my life have I lost 30lbs in a month. So if I stall for a week, that's just what my body must need. Also - I am at a weight were I sit really comfortably. I know the next 10lbs is hard because I never sat in the 260'S. So give it time! We got this!

    Best tasting Protein shakes?

By far the peanut butter cookie protein mix is the best tasting one I have come across! No aftertaste!
  11. I just got my peanut butter cook ie protein in today- it's AMAZING! Sooo delish! I highly recommend it. I didn't find it in a small size but now I am really happy I have the big size. I can see using this stuff a lot.

    Carafate

5 days basically. 10cc every 6 hours. Why do you ask?
  13. So I just wanna know that it's normal to just have a bad day with the sleeve. I don't mean feeling wise but I mean rules wise. Today, I got busy and didn't plan and looked up and it was 3pm and all I had for the day was 5oz Greek yogurt and 12oz of water that morning. Then I actually got hungry which hasn't happened since my surgery 8 days ago. So as soon as I got home I ate cream of chicken soup with some milk mixed in. I ate it way too fast and too much (like the old days). Now I'm here and in pain(stuffed), knowing full and well I didn't follow the rules and I'm mad and frustrated. I'm upset I didn't take the time to plan better, I question my choice to have this done. What if I seriously hurt myself the next time I don't plan. I'm frustrated that I can't just gulp down water to catch back up. I know that I choose this I just need to know having bad days (aka "learning days") are normal. So when was your first bad day??

    Bad day

It makes me feel better to hear of others learning experiences. This whole thing is a major change mentally and I'm still wrapping my head around it. Thank you for sharing!!
  15. I through my many years of gains and losses I noticed I always seemed to stall at the same numbers and then regain to certain numbers. Go example- I never stay in the 260-270, I either lose it to 260 or when I regain it jumps up to 270. I just found this interesting over the years. Anyone else every seem like their body has natural numbers it sits better at during stalls?
  16. Thanks for sharing those recipes they all sounds amazing! I too will move to that phase next week! After being on soup/broth for a month and protein shakes for the same- anything sounds amazing. I even got jealous other people get to lick peanut butter. Lol. All in good time. My biggest success today was finally having a BM!!!! Yay!!!!!!! Lol. I've lost 9lbs this week so I am pretty excited about that. I know that's not sustainable amount to lose each week but I can't wait to see what next weeks numbers are. I finally had my husband take the scale and hide it because I keep weighing myself. Asked him to only bring it out once a week. Was also able to start sleeping on my back instead of propped up on pillows. It did give me a bit of heartburn when I woke up so I hope that's not an every day occurrence. I guess time will tell. Overall though, all the pain is gone and my buyers remorse is gone too! Now I'm just excited to see what my future looks like. I hope all is well for my other June sleevers out there!
  17. *********dancing....********* Tried already: 1. Long walks 2. Getting in all my fluids and upping fluids 3. Milk of magnesium (worst taste ever) Gonna need something tougher. Guess I'll just keep dancing. :-( 6 days is too long. Dr. Says it will happen eventually. Well poo on him! Pun intended.
  18. Thank you for the advice! I will try the cherry flavor!

    surgery in the morning Goodnight

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
  20. I Know everyone is different but looking at my first full day home stats ( and the color of my pee) and I def failed at getting all my fluids in. So my question is, what worked for you? I'm thinking of setting a timer to remind me to drink- was thinking every 5 minutes. Did you have something like this that forced you to focus throughout the day? Any ideas are appreciated!
  21. Haven't experienced it but I do know that both can be signs of dehydration. Once I started taking slightly bigger sips I was able to get my full numbers in. Sip sip sip!

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Unflavored whey in cream of chicken soup is good to me. However, you can't heat up with the protein in it. I also will add the unflavored whey to pudding and it's ok too. I think the trick is to add, just a little, to each thing you eat. I can't add full scoops. Some is better than none!

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I cried in my gown going into surgery- luckily my anesthesiologist was awesome and gave me some anxiety meds and before I knew it I was waking up! Really the whole next day was a blur because I was on morphine which knocked me right out. They came in every 2 hours or vitals and to make me walk. Each walk I felt better but I didn't feel truly good until they took the morphine off and switched me to oral meds. You will do great!!!! This community of support really makes a huge difference too! Today I am 5 days post op and I was able to go grocery shopping, get my car cleaned and make salsa for my husband. Just remember- there will be pain, but it will pass!!

Could I possibly run by Thanksgiving?

Where there is a will, there is always a way! Commit and do it! What's the worse that happens, you arnt able to run the whole thing and you have to quit? Even if that happens you still did more of the race than everyone who didn't even try it! You can do it! Weight loss will help but deciding you can is the first step!
