    Feel like such a failure...

@ You poor thing it's hard enough the first 6 mths after surgery to deal with the changes let alone having someone verbally abuse you - totally not acceptable!!! Don't feel you are alone cause you're not... The support on this site is amazing. I don't tolerate unacceptable behavior and if it was me would say I am done and move on but that's me I'm afraid???? Feel free to pm anytime. Just remember you did this surgery for you, yes it gets rough and things get hard and some days you feel like a failure and you feel you may never feel normal again but believe me the sun does shine through....

    Feel like such a failure...

Thank you all so much I appreciate every single one of you for your support... Xx Regain is such a hard thing to deal with and the time has come for me not to give up and head in the right direction..
  3. I had my sleeve surgery Jan 14, compared to others only lost 100lbs so already felt like a failure, now in the last 8 mths have put on 20lbs and just don't know where to start to head back in the right direction. I feel so alone and depressed but know I don't want to go back to my pre surgery weight. Is this my fault - absolutely it is.. Although I still have great restriction I sometimes don't eat the right foods and thus weight gain.. Any advise on a good starting point to get back on track would be most appreciated.. Many thanks

OMG, how do I do it?

Thank you for the replies very much appreciated... I think deep down I know what I need to do... Stop the grazing, snacking and convenient 'naughty' food give myself a kick in the butt and go back to basics. I think getting my pre and post op notes out and doing a re-read sounds like a great idea....

OMG, how do I do it?

Hi everyone, I don't post a lot but I do love to read everyone's input. I had my sleeve surgery back in Jan '14 so 2.5 years out. To date I have lost 100lbs but still need another 65 to be considered "normal". Some old habits have creeped back in and I am finding it hard to get back on track. How does one kickstart things again? what kind of menu do/should I be following to make things move in the right direction. I am currently eating between 1200-1400. Some input would be great.
  6. Today I mark 1 yr from having sleeve surgery, down 102lbs. I know without the surgery I wouldn't be were I am today. My journey hasn't been easy first 5 mths I was totally miserable and really ill - suffered kidney failure due to a toxic reaction to nexium and suffered gerd really bad. Never had gerd in my life even now still suffer a little, no heartburn or indigestion just a lump in the throat. I don't count calories and some days still don't hit my Protein and liquid goals but I try ????. Eating out can sometimes be hard as I feel I still don't eat like a normal person - still much less... I sometimes have regret for having the surgery but these days it's just a thought and I move on... I am happy where I am, I don't have a goal i just take one day at a time and if I don't loose another pound so be it, life will go on....

Is TOO much protein a concern?

@@MissMac, I am 11 mths out and still struggle to get 60grns per day - try to only have real food no shakes. Can you pls give me examples for bfast, lunch and dinner based on 20grms - it would be a great help - thanks

    Vets question

I guess this is a question for people further out than me, I am a week short of 11 mths, 100lbs down (probably should have been more!!) but does anyone have kind of off days. Some days I feel blah can't put my finger on why but just not feeling well. The only thing I tend to notice more now is how my stomach feels maybe I am just over thinking things....

    Stomach acid

This might sound like a dumb question but does anyone know when the stomach after having the sleeve starts to only produce enough acid for our little tummies, or perhaps it just keeps producing at normal rate??? I still have a little reflux at 10 mths, never had it prior just in my throat...
  10. Can any long term sleevers tell me if the uncomfortable stomach feeling when eating gets better over time, say 12 mths out??? Some days at 10.5 mths out eating 2 pieces of deli meat and a slice of cheese for brekky makes me get that feeling, replies grateful
  11. I have days at 10.5 mths where I just don't follow the rules. What I mean is I find it really hard to get in all my protein, average is about 45grms - don't do shakes I get so tired thinking about what to eat. I am ok with liquids. Does anyone else's have a hard time following the rules??? To date I have lost 100lbs...

    Some advice needed..

I am now at 10.5 mths and although for me things have improved almost 100% (had issues for the first 5 mths) I still feel my journey is not what I was expecting. When did people realise they could eat more??? I still have days where I want to eat but end up eating like a bird!!! I still don't feel I eat like a 'normal' person - never feel satisfied.... Does one get to the stage where they can eat and not feel uncomfortable, some days even eating 2 pieces of sliced turkey and a cheese stick is enough. How long does it take for you to notice that your stomach has relaxed?? Thanks to all for their advice... Ps Reflux - I never get heartburn or indigestion but the lump in my throat but seems to settle when I eat, anyone else find this???

    Traveling overseas

@@Kindle thank you so much for the welcome back. I kind of stopped posting as I felt like was being a pest and besides on another site someone was just plain nasty, thought no had a hard enough time with the sleeve don't need that from anyone - it's wonderful what a couple months can do to make you feel better
  15. Hi all, haven't been on here for a while, 10 mths for me today and things have improved greatly... I am planning on traveling overseas in January and am a little apprehensive - I will be 12 mths but scared if something goes wrong. Has anybody travelled overseas a year post op and everything ran smooth??? Thanks
