How long do these headaches last?
Jennifer0609 replied to sweetangel7998jj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost done with my 2 week pre op diet. 3 more days! Surgery is Monday. The second week is much easier than the first. Hang in there. I've lost 10 lbs so far, that makes it easier -
June 9th Sleeve - Looking for friends!

I hope the surgeon is an early morning person, lol. I will post as soon as I can. Don't guarantee it will make sense, esp if they give me the good drugs:) good luck to you as well. my emotions are all over the place- I'm at peace with my decision one minute and having second thoughts the next. I know in my heart this is the right step for me, but my head needs some convincing:). I've never had surgery, it's the unknown that scares me -

I'm still around too, this had been busy week. Trying to tie up loose ends at work and train the person who will be working for me. my treat to myself is having a cleaning service come in and deep clean my house! When I come home, the house will be sparkling clean, yeah! 4 more days, have to be at hospital at 5am on Monday, surgery at 730am -

Sus- I'm on the 14 day liquid diet. This is day 8. Surgery is Monday. It's hard but not impossible. I think days 3-4 were the hardest for me. I kept telling myself it's only two weeks. In the big picture that's just a moment. Having support is the most important, sounds like your husband will be a great one. Mine drank protein drinks at supper with me. It helped a lot. warm broth and tea are also nice in the evening. If you can have them. Good luck! -

On day 6 of my pre op diet. I felt bad days 2-4. Are you allowed G2? Gatorade 2, low cal. It might perk you up. I feel good today. One more week. Keeping busy has helped me. Good luck -
Oh no! Need words of encouragement!

Lynn- the liquid diet is not easy, I'm in day 6 of 14. I have struggled this week, been a little shorter tempered, but today I feel better. I can do this. It's only one more week. I also gave up coffee this week. You can do this! Stay busy. I had several different protein shakes, serve real different flavors, to give me some options. I'm allowed chicken or beef broth which is a nice change from the cold protein drinks. Sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles are great for the sweet cravings. good luck to you! -
Hello all of my June friends! 8 more days for me. Good luck and speedy recovery to all

MommaCEO- I agree with you. I can't believe each doctor has such different diets. I've read where some have 4 weeks of liquid diet. But I think those folks have higher BMIs. We can do this, I'm really trying to stay busy. This weekend will be tough. During the week, I'm at work and busy. Last night I took a long walk. Today I'm cleaning house and going to the gym. What about juicing? Before I started my pre op, I made fresh juices with raw veggies and fruits. I would even add protein power and make it a meal. Has anyone asked their NUT about this? -

MommaCEO- I'm with ya! Day 4 seemed harder. I'm on the same as you. Today will be better. time is going by quickly -
Yes... Cutting back now is a good idea. You don't want caffeine withdrawal a long with postop recovery. I cut back for about a week. I started my preop diet 3 days ago and have had no coffee. I've had some headaches and been tired but I'm sticking to it. Good luck!

I have a 2 hour preop class on Monday and my final appt with surgeon on Thursday next week. It's all coming so fast. Then on to surgery on the 9th! Only 12 more days! I'm really nervous about the surgery, I've never had surgery. I'm trying not to over think it or I will be a basket case by the 9th:) -

Day 2 of the pre-op diet easier. No headache today. Keeping busy helps a lot. Lots of water as well. Next week will be more challenging for me. My kids birthdays are Monday and Tuesday. My daughter wants to go to a fondue restaurant! I will not be attending that meal! Luckily the kids are understanding. I am determined to stick to what the doctor has told me:) -
I cut back on caffeine for last couple weeks. Yesterday was challenging with none. But I would rather work through it now. Post-op will be. Tough enough without adding caffeine withdrawal:)

I plan to take 4-6 weeks, depending on the lifting restriction. I have to be able to lift 50lbs. I'm looking forward to some time off. this is my time to focus in me and my recovery. Made it through day 1 of the pre-op diet! It wasn't too bad. Have a headache from lack of caffeine, lol. Where is everybody having surgery? I'm in charlotte nc -

I'm June 9th as well. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. 3 protein shakes a day. 6-8 glasses if water. I can add crystal light ( sugar free) or sugar free kool laid for taste. I can also have sugar free jello, broth or Popsicles. The main thing is at least 60 gr of protein. Low sugar and low fat and lots of water. I'm ready for this! for the last week, I have enjoyed some of my favorite meals as I am saying good bye for now. One day when I can eat these foods again, I will have the control to do this in moderation. I'm very lucky... I have a great support system. My husband is going to have a sleeve done as well. He is not scheduled yet. He's going to drink protein shakes for supper with me to be supportive. I know we can all get through this! Surgery is just two weeks away. -
I'm June 9th. From what I've read in these forums the first couple weeks should be the worst. I can't wait. I start my pre op diet on 5/27

Kamp- good luck to you. I'm scheduled for June 9th. I also ordered the unjury sample packets. Isopure green apple is a nice change from the vanilla/chocolate
