  1. I'll chime in as well. I'm 7wks today and water still gives me fits. Dr said it's normal. And why no cinnamon? I do love my tea. It has been a great help in getting liquids down for sure. Hope today is a. Great day!

How did you determine your goal?

In speaking with my nut she advised to best calculate goal weight is to allow 100lbs for 5ft of height. Then add an additional 5lbs for every inch. I'm 5'7" so this gives be 135 lbs. however you must also take into consideration that I have a large frame or large bone structure which I would then add an additional 10% or 13.5lbs. So my goal weight would be 148.5lbs. So I'll be happy with 150. The nut also said that the exact number has to be one your comfortable with as long as it is healthy. I personally feel 130 anything would be too small for me and I would look sickly. My sis was in her 140s and it wasn't a good weight for her 150s worked better and looked better on her.

    It's done!

Welcome to the club! Glad you are doing well. What an awesome holiday gift to yourself. Wishing you all the best.
  5. My appointment today had a scale reading of 279. Last dr visit I was 295. The team was excited. The dr came in and had a true heart to heart with me and said I was doing above average. He said not to worry about having issues with certain foods because there may actually be foods that I simply can't tolerate with the sleeve. Most important to watch Protein intake and liquids. His expectations are 1-2lbs per week. Just continue on the path I'm on and I will do fine. I expressed my concern over an increase I saw in the scale. He said all that was normal and DO NOT STRESS. Do not stress people! I read so many times of those who feel u aren't loosing fast enough or referring to someone else who lost more. Well they aren't you. The main thing is compare yourself to no one. We are all going to progress at different rates. The only wrong thing is to not follow the instructions you have been provided with to use with your new sleeve. Reverting back to poor eating and not using this amazing tool as it was designed "to help". It isn't a quick fix or a solution. You have to change the way you see food and change your relationship with food. Enough rambling! I'm excited after today. And if you doubt yourself don't! Wishing everyone happy holidays!
  6. Outside of walking I was advised against working out. Today the doc cleared me to work out and I can't wait to get in some gym time. Driving I was back driving 3days post op. As long as I wasn't on pain meds all was ok per dr.
  7. Too obsessed with the scale number give yourself a chance to adjust. Like my dr said the stress we come up with on our own causes hormones to be released which slow things down. Just relax and follow the plan you have been given. Give your body a chance to adjust and hold no expectations. Stay off the scale. I know it's hard but you gotta let go of that habit or you will worry yourself into the loonie farm.

    Stopped losing

I agree with the above posts. It seems your intake might be part of the problem. Your body needs protein and water. Min of 64 fluid oz per day. That's a stretch but ys a goal you can work towards. My dr said 2-3oz for a meal and that would be substance food like soft cooked veggies ECt. Not soup. It's time to progress foward. An learn the new body you have. Take one step at a time. You have loads of support here to walk along with you in this journey.

    Post Op Update

I am so happy to read your now on he flip side and doing ok! Just a suggestion.... Have dear hubby give you a message. The day I got discharged from the hospital they had a huge health fair and I was able to get a chair message. I really feel that helped me work out the gas which may been lingering in my system. It was wonderful. And I never looked back. And after all it is he holiday season message would make a great gift

    Discouraged Already

Hopefully you didn't gain all your extra weight in only 14days. So why would you expect to loose it in less time than it took you to gain? Slow down and stop looking at the scale. Because you really are going to freak out if the scale shows you a gain and it might do that at some point . Ask yourself a few questions. Are you following dr/nuts advise? If yes then good job. Focus in protein and liquids and remain calm you are loosing so that shows you the surgery is working. Just give it some time. It was a major surgery and your body needs time to adjust heal and get going again. Hugs of support

    Should I be proud or?

I don't think that you realize that actually calculates to be a little over .00029762 lbs per min! Have you stopped to calculate? That alone can put things into an entirely new perspective. I mean based on that information alone you were still a looser even while you were snuggled sleeping soundly or just up walking the hall in your fuzzy slippers! so turn your thoughts with a positive spin. You went from zero to .00029762min with surgery that my friend is amazing. There are those who would envy being in your shoes. I'm sure there are some who may have a higher average just like cars they are all made different and performance levels are all different. So are we. There are so many variables that effect weight loss post surgery that you shouldn't ever focus on anything other than the positive. Your a looser! So keep it up your doing great considering the time of year when around every corner I'm sure you see candy canes and gum drops so keep focused and stay on track. Next stop skinny town!

    Kind of a werid question

There are things out on the market to help with detoxing however I wouldn't want to try with a sleeve. Best of luck

    Puréed stage

All of the above plus you can also make your own purée. Simply find veggies you like and roast them to bring out the flavor. Once nice and super tender put them a mini food chopper with a little chicken or vegetable broth to make a pure. Depending on what your blending you might be able to add a small amount of unflavored protein powder to help with protein intake as well.

Way to rock that sleeve! Keep up the great work looking amazing
  19. I am one of the proactive people doing anything I can to prevent getting a common cold sore throat with sniffles and such. Well I'm 7 wks post op today and my immunity is down big time. It stated last night and today I've had such a difficult time getting in any fluids . I was up at 5 and I'm going to bed now having only consumed one protein drink this am maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup of soup and maybe 2oz g2. I have already had a difficult time getting in fluids now with a sore throat it's virtually impossible. My taste is way off. Everything seems salty even Apple juice and I can't stomach plain water. Any suggestions? I'll be calling the dr in the am!

    New and Struggling

Also maybe try juice or crystal light or g2. These are othe things that u should be able to have at this point. I'm not sure what stage your on so if your on the baby food part give some a try or make your own out of roasted veggies you really like and use a mini chopper or food processr to mash them to purée stage

    Shirataki Noodles

Yum yum. I had them pre surgery. My cousin is from Japan and introduced me to them! She made a post and they looked so yummy I had to try them.

    New and Struggling

Only look foward. We can only focus on the path ahead. I got my overhaul 11-4. You are not alone in your struggles to consume liquid. Pace yourself slowly. And keep your mind positive. Take a bite and walk all over the house. In every room down every hall. Then try a tiny bite more. Repeat. This will help you slow things down. Use a bay spoon so bites aren't too large. As most will tell you water is one of the more difficult things to drink. Have you checked in with your dr or nut? If not call and discuss things with them. You can do this one step at a time
