    Going back to work

I worked 11-3 then had surgery 11-4 stayed out the rest of the week then back to work 11-10. No issues other than being tired at night. All is going well even though i seem to be dealing with nausea. I simply used PTO.

    Sleeping

I slept on my side straight out if surgery while in the hospital. Once home I slept whatever way was comfy. Listen to your body and don't push yourself.

    Sleeping positions :)

I slept on my side right out of recovery and while still in the hospital. I've slept all ways on my side and even on my tummy. Each person is different. I would say give it a try and if your comfy snooze away to dreamland . Although we are all different and all the Docs have different instructions one common ground they all seem to share is listen to your new body. Learn your new sleeve. Wishing you pleasant dreams!

    Leak Test

My dr does a leak check during surgery. Then a follow up check the next morning with the barium. All done before one can have any liquid. Prior to the barium leak check I was allowed one ounce ice chips only every hour.

    OUCH!

My sister had these tiny hors d'oeuvre spoons and forks that I have started to use to keep myself in check so that bites aren't too large the plate is really a teacup saucer and the little bowl is a condiment cup it helps me keep things in check so I don't hurt myself hahah
  6. My dr advised me that in the end once all is healed it will hold about 6oz max . I can by no means have 6oz of anything at all yet and just mentally can't visualize that even being possible because I do good keeping 2oz down and that's eating very slowly!!!
  7. I feel I'm there. My sleeve was 11-4 and I dropped 17lbs as of my dr visit on 11-19. I don't go back to the dr again until 12-22. However my home scale seems to have stalled out and I'm not seeing much movement over this past week. I think my issue is I'm not getting in enough fluid, protein, or anything for that matter and my body won't let go of anything. I'm attempting to bump up my protein intake however it is difficult in the purée stage. I managed to make turkey purée in my one that was yummy yet again I only had maybe an ounce. I'm slowly learning this new sleeve of mine.

    Coffeeee

I was cleared for decade coffee the day after surgery. It fell under my clear liquid group. Once I had my leak check the morning following surgery I could have the decaf just was restricted to one ounce per hour for several hours and wasn't bumped up to the next level until the next day where I was allowed to sip sip sip all day long. My sleeve was 11-4 and if I desire coffee I can have a cup anytime but I assure you it takes me forever to get those 8oz down lol

    Burping, Nausea

I am so glad to see this post and to know I am not alone! My mother had the sleeve in May and I just got my sleeve Nov4. I have had no physical pain and was walking the day of surgery. I however have had a major issue with nausea and sickness. I was down 17lbs on my first dr visit post op. I asked if I was "normal" and he said everyone is different . He's. A great dr and had given me zofran as well as phenagrin to help and is a phone call away if needed. He advised I am still healing and to take things sllloooowwww. Slow down your going to fast. I keep telling myself. That being said I'm a little more tired at night than normal and feel it's directly related to the lack if liquid/food intake(protein) I simply do tiny tiny tiny bites one then wait a bit for the next. Spacing them out. I certainly hope she is feeling better. Today I am thankful for having this surgery and having this site for part of my support system. Thank you all for being here to share your experiences!

    This is my journey

Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on your successful journey thus far.
  12. I worked Nov 3. Got my sleeve Nov 4. Was kept in hospital until Nov6. Physically felt fine to go to work on NOV 7 however the dr wouldn't release me for work until Nov 10. I'm a supervisor and he dr simply put me on light duty not lifting more than 6 lbs. I've had no major issues other than by the time nighttime gets here I am ready for bed. I think it's all part of the healing process for me. My job is mentally demanding and can require lots of walking during the day so with that combination I'm in need of rest . It all really depends on your job and what's required as well as how well you cope with situations. I try to stay positive and keep looking forward. I see the light at the end of he tunnel and the skinny me holding the candle.
  13. Amazing. I hope to follow gracefully in your footsteps.
  14. I got my sleeve Nov4. Post op I continued on clear liquid for an additional week after my hospital discharge Nov 6 which a as considered week 1. Week 2 I started full liquid. Cream Soups with any bits strained out. Week 3-4 started Nov 20 and now I seem to be having my problems. I'm getting sick. I've had nausea issues from day one of surgery. But they seem worse now. When I eat my baby food I am only doing 2-3oz and I'm eating super slow even using a baby spoon to insure the bites aren't too big. But I've got sick 3 times and It scares me. I have these nightmares of damaging my new tummy by getting sick. If anyone has been through this and has any bits of advise please share. I'm desperate at this point and sipping only liquids again. Thank you in advance. Feeling blue.
  15. Thanks to everyone for the replies. Greatly appreciated.
  16. He gave me a script for zofran which dissolves and then I also have phenagrin (sp). But I even woke up in the middle of the night last night sick. I'm just taking it easy with liquid only and will be calling my dr on Monday.

    2 month post op

Well you are simply covered in awesome sauce! way to go!
  20. And the scale says 295. Get outta town. 17lbs from 11-4 to today. I am also off my Blood pressure meds as long as I keep it in check. It could have been more it could have been less. I am simply Greatful this surgery seems to be a total success! happy dancing Whoot whoot
  21. I can't start to go to the gym for another month. This gives everything time to heal. The Dr said to wait then he'll be glad to release me for full work outs. I can't wait.
  22. All Drs are different. My Dr & nut work together and I was told that my goal was 64oz fluid which included my protein drinks. My surgery was 11-4 and there is simply no way on earth I'm getting in 64oz a day yet. I do try and as stated above the key is sip sip sip... Tiny sips all day long add up. I always have a bottle of something liquid with me sip sip all day. I'm at my first post op visit now and the Dr said main focus is hydration at this point just do what I can and keep working on it. Things will get better.
