I know from my end, I was happy to do the 6 months pre op so I knew as much as humanly possible about the sleeve. My surgery date was originally 12/19/13 and because of the 6 month pre op we discovered a few intolerances that resulted in my being very ill and having to get my gallbladder taken out (which happened on November 9, 2013. After healing and making sure I had no gastrointestinal issues from my intolerances I am now finally 20 pounds down and scheduled for surgery on June 23rd! I would recommend doing the pre op work and getting in the right mind set for the life changing event that is going to occur.

Any june 23rd sleevers?
xoashS2 replied to p-ruck21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been sick with some viral thing! So the first three days were golden. Lol. I'm confused as to how some people have full liquid diets and others have shakes and food. All I want is to eat applesauce or cream soup. Is that silly? -

Tomorrow starts my two week liquid pre op diet! I'm afraid of not being able to do the whole 2 weeks as easy as I hope I can. My surgery is on the 23rd as well and I'm nervous! I'm going to try isopure for the 2 week pre op. Is anyone else? -

I appreciate it. I want to gear towards younger people because from my group meetings and other online forums it would help guide them to stay on track.

A. I never said I was selling the book. I want to help people reach their goals by giving an array of ideas for them at the click of a button. If they would want a hard back copy, that is something I would work out per person. B. I am not asking for recipies but yes their name would be mentioned. I am asking for simplistics. "Steak burgers and onion fries" "grilled zucchini flat bread pizza". So if "Jane C from Portland" loves to make home made veggie Pasta the world will know Jane C from Portland loves to make her family veggie pasta and this is how I make it simply and full of flavor. Here is how you could substitute X for Y. I want to help people learn that it is easy to eat healthy without breaking the bank. To show them they can succeed without losing flavor or their comfort food. Sorry if you took anything wrong.

Hello all! I am just starting my final stage of pre op and get the sleeve on June 23rd. I am a fun loving girl who loves to cook and in one year, I want to have a cook book drafted for WLS patients. I would love to hear what your favorite meal is post surgery so I can play with it and "remake" it if you will. I dream of creating something and being able to say "you don't have to give up flavorful food in order to live a healthy life. Here are what myself and fellow WLS patients love to eat and here is how to do it. Don't give up before a new life begins" I hope to hear from you! Thank you so much!

Hello all! I am beginning my final stages of pre op and getting the sleeve on June 23rd. I am an every day girl who loves to cook and have big dreams of writing a cook book for my fellow WLS peers. Here is where I would love YOUR help. I would love to hear what your favorite meal is post surgery so I can play with it and "recreate" it if you will. I want to take this year after surgery and be able to say "yeah you can do this and eat wonderful food. These are favorite meals from other WLS friends from around the world. Don't give up now!" Thank you everyone!

Oddly enough my go to is "I fucking hate you" by Godsmack. "The pride" by five finger death punch (especially the lyrics "I've got the scars to prove that only the strong survive")"2nd Sucks" by A Day To Remember. The list is endless! 21 days till surgery!

ANY JUNE 25TH SURGERIES?
xoashS2 replied to 630racoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm June 23rd! I think that's close enough (: I'm from PA and so ready to get this journey going. Not looking forward to the two week pre op diet though ): -
Pre-op diet. Scary dream. Need any and all advice please!
xoashS2 replied to Sunrise07214's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've tried several. The main reasoning for my surgery (yes, even before weight loss) is everything makes me sick. To much liquid, all foods, it's never ending bathroom trips. So I eat very little a day and absorb no nutrients. The powders make me sick pre op. Hopefully they won't post op. I'm going to order the nectar stuff on Monday to try as well as buy the isopure and the pure ice ready made drinks from GNC. So nervous. I want to be successful in so many ways. -

This is going to be my game plan as well. I know my hubby will not want to cook for 3 weeks, so I'm going to see if while I go work out if my mom will cook enough for three to let him eat. I HATE every shake I've had so far, I hope Isopure works out for me ! It's my last resort. Thankfully its not a powder! Anyone else with this problem? -

no hospital stay for me? out same day
xoashS2 replied to 50lbstogo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not self pay, but my surgeon said most of his patients for the sleeve go home same day. I live about an hour away from the hospital I will have the surgery at. I'm nervous and don't know how I will handle the pain (I'm such a baby about surgeries lol) but my hubby and my mommy will be taking good care of me (: they will not let me fail!
