5 weeks today and only down 19 pounds since surgery....seems slow
cutiecake replied to Tarynk77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm only down 28 pounds, only 19 pounds since my surgery June 9. But I'm ok with that. I know I'm doing everything right, I'm exercising and eating healthy. I've always been a slow loser, but I know that the pounds will come off. So, just try not to worry about the scale. It will come off. If you started at a lower weight, you won't lose as fast as somebody who may have a higher bmi, too. Just a little food for thought... I'm excited that every week the scale is moving down ward even if it's slow! -
"When I finally lose the weight I am excited to...."
cutiecake replied to V.V.V.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with all of these, I am excited about being able to throw on a tank top and shorts and run my errands wearing them. I'm excited about spending the day at the beach without the dreaded fear of what people are thinking I look like. I'm super excited to just be more comfortable in my own skin! I can't wait to get there. The journey is fun, I'm about 1/3 of the way there! -
Today is the big day!

Best of luck to you and your new beginning ! -
Everyone's circumstances are different. For me, I'm just altogether a private person. I work with all women, and some are very catty, I don't want to be center of any gossip/ negativity. My work also deals with not only fellow employees, but many clients, and I don't feel like discussing my surgery with every person that sits at my desk. I've told my close friends and family, and if it feels right, I will open up and tell others , and I have ...for me it's really at work where I do not wish to tell people my business. We are all different, and all entitled to tell or not to tell. I don't think anyone has the same reasons as anyone else. It's hard to generalize as to why we tell or don't tell.

Having a hard time
cutiecake replied to sandrap123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started cross fit and jogging a month before surgery. What keeps me going is how much easier it gets , especially the jogging. That's probably when I feel the weightloss the most! It's hard to get in the mind frame, but once you do , and for me, if I exercise regular the scale moves down much faster! Always a good incentive! Good luck, it sounds like you're doing great! -

Well, June sleevers, it's just about the end of our very exciting month! I would love for us to share our good and bad experiences of our journey so far. This is my status, HW 226 SW 217 CW 205 Surgery date- 6/9 No regrets!

I personally am the queen of yo yo weight gain/loss. Although it is more weight than I have lost in the past, it is not unusual for me to lose and then balloon. I have kept a weight log since 2004 and I have quantifiably yoyo'ed 30 or more lbs every 18 to 24 months for the last 10 years. They just might question when I don't gain this time. dde0b. That is so me! Always up and down, I didn't tell anyone at work, and they haven't said anything yet about my weightloss I'm pretty sure it's because of my yoyo dieting in the past, and that's fine with me. I'm only 5 weeks out.

For me, my most favorite thing is I will never ever wake up in the morning with a food hangover again! Yes, I am putting this out there. I would eat so much crap at night. As if I was never going to eat again, and in the morning, I would feel so awful mentally and physically. I'd be so bloated that I'd fret about what would actually fit my bloated belly? I'd hate myself for doing this. Why couldn't I control myself? I'm only 5 weeks out, but I can tell you that when I get up in the morning it's the best feeling to not be bloated, and not have guilt as my first thought as I get out of bed. I'm actually not even grumpy in the mornings, and I used to be! It never occurred to me why, but yeah that's why!

I've had sushi with no problems as well , just plain tuna roll with brown rice, it actually went down very well, I enjoyed it very much! )

Experiences with Phentermine?
cutiecake replied to RellaBelle's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
Like most others -been there done that. If skinny can in a bottle, I'd stick with that instead of surgery, but- after you stop taking it the weight comes right back ,too many bad side effects as well . It's not permanent like wls -

cutiecake replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was allowed to eat chicken 3 days post op, just had to be fine, like put in the food processor. Now 5 weeks out, I can eat grilled chicken , just chew it well, you'll be just fine. -
For those with BMI 36 or lower, how much did you lose your first month pre-op
cutiecake replied to Readytobeskinny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm down 26 pounds as of today in one month post op.( I lost 9 of them pre op.) it's been a slow go, had a stall, but the scale has been moving downward this week. -
Yes, I did, I believe I was dehydrated , and the pain was actually kidney pain, have you looked into that at all? I drank more water and within a week the pain was gone.

Fear is getting the best of me.
cutiecake replied to Tear Bear's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is so normal, we all love food, love to eat, we wouldn't be overweight if we didn't. For me, I am an emotional eater, especially a carb lover. I had my surgery a month ago, and trust me, your relationship with food will change. I have yet to even desire a piece of bread or pasta or rice, my three most favorite things. I never imagined that this surgery would actually change my taste for things, but it has. Don't get me wrong , you have to work at it . But this tool helps out so much! When you see results, it helps even more to stay track. I'm only a month out so I'm no expert, but for me, I'm doing greater than I expected! You can too, if I can stick to program, anyone can. -

After reading complications people are going through years later with the SLEEVE... I'm too scared now to do it!
cutiecake replied to 1cutechubbychiq's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's human to worry about complications . I'm sure every single one of us have. My cousin did also, and actually canceled surgery THREE times! Always something would come up, and to her it was a "sign" . Well, I had mine a month ago, I love it. And there my cousin is, who I love to pieces , still heavy and unhealthy. Good luck in your decision!
