How Fast do the weight come ofg
cutiecake replied to toohot74akaelh2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Are you serious? You've lost more than most people ! I would love those results! Good luck, and don't worry, you're doing better than fine. -
Yes, I had my cycle right before surgery, then 2 weeks after surgery again, and ever since, it has not been right. My last cycle lasted about 10 days, ugh... Hopefully it goes back to normal? But I ,too have read this can happen after surgery.

Thank you for doing this challenge! The last one was a great way to stay motivated! I'm in. My last weigh in was 189. My new goal is 178, by Halloween . Thanks again! Good luck to all of us.

189.0 this morning, 3 pounds away from the goal I set, but happy to be under 190! Yay! When is the next challenge? I love these!

So, my sons school had curriculum night, tonight. I was running late, and literally running to his class room to make it on time, now his class room , same as last year, is way way down a long hallway, outside a door, you then walk outside about 200 ft. Then into another building, And then up a lengthy flight of stairs. It didn't even occur to me until after I got home, that last year, visiting his class room, I was winded, and embarrassed for being so out of breath. This time was a total new experience. I was not winded in the least, I ran and zoomed up those stairs, like it was nothing. Amazing.... I just love my sleeve, and crossfit has definitely helped too!

The ol' straw debate. Do you use one?
cutiecake replied to Loristi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use a straw with no issue. I read on here not to use one, and didn't for awhile, but it is much easier to get your water in and like I said I've had no issue. My doc never said not to, btw -
192 today, don't think I'm making goal next week :/

Be prepared for many, many steps even if self-pay. It takes months.
cutiecake replied to MT1000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did self pay in Florida, 10,500 covers all costs. Had my first appointment in April. 5 weeks later I had my surgery. No problems at all. -

How do you handle eating with others?
cutiecake replied to Menina's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish I could say people don't notice what I eat, but they do. I've been out numerous times with people from work, family , friends, etc. Any whether they know about my surgery or not, I always hear a comment. And the waiters always ask if the food was ok, due to lack of it being eaten. It's hard to come up with excuses. I try to split a meal if the situation arises! -
June 9th in Florida! Anyone else around that time ?

"When I finally lose the weight I am excited to...."
cutiecake replied to V.V.V.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pain after surgery was very bad for me. For about 48 hours , which I spent in the hospital. On the third day, when I left the hospital, I felt about 80% better. Within another 2-3 days I had no pain at all. The worst for me was getting in and out of bed, and coughing, hurt my incisions a lot. But now it's been 7 weeks, and I feel wonderful. I feel " normal" with my new stomach, but ... Different than before. But in a good, healthy way. I was going to write my life doesn't revolve around food any more, but it still is a very important part of my life, I still have to think about what I'm going to eat, etc. so, I guess it's a new normal. I have absolutely no regrets! I love my sleeve, and I love my progress! It's all very much worth it! Good luck to you! -
What Do You Do When a Craving Hits?
cutiecake replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ok, I'm glad I found this thread. I was at a party today, I had a glass of wine half a hamburger, yes some of the bun too. And a half a piece of birthday cake. I have excuses as to why. I was with people who don't know about my surgery, and truthfully I wanted to celebrate a special birthday with family and friends. I feel guilty , but I also feel entitled. I haven't eaten anything that bad, yet, it's been about 7 weeks since my surgery. I just hope my sleeve won't be effected. :/ -
I love your post and yes, why can't somebody take the easy way out? Seriously, if I suffer through my weightloss, then it's acceptable? And this has been easy peasy for me as well. I love that after a few bites of dinner I am as satisfied as I was before surgery after thanksgiving dinner. Couldn't be happier with my decision, I'm only 7 weeks out, I have a ways to go, but this journey has been a happy one. I feel great! There's nothing wrong with that
-
Yes, 4 weeks after surgery I was given the green light to return to crossfit, and any excercise.

Your surgery date was June of this year. You are able to do Pilates so soon?

I've done yoga before surgery on and off for a couple years, I like yoga, but it's not very strenuous , Pilates on the other hand, is more of a workout, and I've taken classes before and after surgery, and I really feel and see a difference when I do Pilates. I've only done beginners Hatha and heat yoga, I know yoga can be challenging but if you're a beginner like me and want to see results physically I'd go for Pilates ! I will say yoga has helped my posture and mentally feel great.
