Anyone know if you can file for short term disability in California for the time your recovering from surgery? My husband is planning on getting bypass done in a few months but doesn't qualify for vacation or sick time.

I know this is an old thread but thought i would reply. I was diagnosed with PCOS in feb and was weighting 295. Doctor put me on qsymia and treating my PCOS with metformin twice a day and I have lost 40 pounds in 3 months. It has really helped me suppress my cravings for food. -
MY insurance only require 8 weeks if supervised diet which could be with weight watchers or with a doctor within 12 months. Anyone else had this requirement? Does it mean I need to see my doctor every week?

Anyone here had weightless surgery the same time at their wife or husband? Me and my husband are currently trying to get surgery this year probably a few months apart. I want the sleeve and he's looking at bypass. Just wondering if anyone else has similar experiences and was made it hard or easy doing it together.

Surgery with your spouse?

Has anyone had issues with insurance denying you because your spouse was getting surgery too? Or is that even possible. -
My husband works for a subcontracter for the post office. He only has 3 employees so they don't really offer benefits. But I think we will apply for ca state disability and hopefully get something back.

I asked my surgeon the same question. I have bills from other things but my deductible and out of pocket as been met. They told me that as long as that is met then I don't owe them and I can continue paying my bills as I had planned. It won't effect surgery.
