    Never thirsty!

There are lots of caffeine free tea options ( both hot and cold) and this is a requirement by the surgeon but pressured by the dietician.

    Never thirsty!

Before surgery I would drink at the very least 120 ounces of water... I love it.... Now, it is more difficult for two reasons: 1. I can't guzzle it anymore and 2. I was used to drinking from a straw. I do vary my flavors but also we CAN NOT count protein shakes for fluids, it can only be water, tea or broth that counts for fluids.

    Same Day Surgery?

Mine was a Tuesday am went home on Thursday am. They need to monitor vitals plus I case any complications, empty the port.... Can't imagine leaving the same day unless it was lap band
  4. I love eggs, but after the surgery they just don't like me in return. I've tried egg beaters, scrambled, poached and hard boiled.... ALL versions gave me terrible heartburn. I was sooooo looking forward to them too. I don't like Mayo, so I mixed mine with guacamole or avocado and canned chicken by Tyson..... Excellent!!! You could even add a dash of taco season.
  5. I can't have -per protocol, veggies and fruits until week 6. If you are eating your two oz of protein, you won't have room for veggies yet. Stay away from cream soups and any potatoes! High fat, too starchy, high calories. Give the new stomach time to heal. Be patient.
  6. Start doing My Fitness Pal, it is a free tracker of ALL your foods and how much you have left to eat.... But just know it doesn't recognize WLS so it will tell you that you don't have enough calories in etc.... But you can see and track your carbs, protein, fat etc. but be honest when you enter your food. If you had one slice of pizza, make sure you enter the correct portions. This makes you accountable for what you put in your mouth. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and still at 2oz of food per meal... Can't even fathom having a carb... I go to the Dr tomorrow for my clearance to go back to work.... My goal was 40 pounds down in 6 weeks... I think it will be close. Don't beat yourself up or sabotage yourself.... Take one day at a time.
  7. What area in Walmart can this be found?
  8. Great to know! Thanks, always good to find a product that is yummy.

    One month post op

What was your weight loss at 4-5 weeks out ( just wondering if I am on track or what)

    One month post op

I get about 300-400 calories per day (at 5 weeks) I lost 37 at 4 weeks and 40 at 5.
  11. I guess (per my Dr) it is fairly minimal with us during months 3-6, but it does grow back. The hair loss is less than RuenY. There are shampoos and vitamins to help that, but some is expected- per my understanding.
  12. Thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery!

    Frozen yogurt

Ow far into the sleeve process can I consume frozen yogurt ( Greek or regular) and/or sugar free ice cream? ( my hubby wants to know for my sake ) ????

    Frozen yogurt

I am not a big sweets eater in general, so I doubt I would become addicted or eat too much, but we saw the Oikos commercial for Greek frozen yogurt and hubby asked if that was an option for me
  15. I was like you, the heartburn was horrible! Prilosec works the best and so does an antacid ( hours apart from each other). It will subside. Now I only get it when I take one bite too many. Make your meal last 15 to 20 minutes and take a break between the small bites. It does get better.
  16. I am in the same time frame as you. I can ONLY eat 2oz before I get heartburn which is the sleeves way of telling me I am full. I can get about 30-40 oz of water in. Stay away from nuts, plain eggs, leafy veggies and do try to get more water in. This is what may be making you feel nausea also with any foods too fibrous as to which you say you a the eating.
  17. Am 5 weeks out an I know that I am to aim for 500 calories and 60-70 protein a day, but I am only getting 300 calories and about 30-40 protein a day.... Any advice? I am only eating the suggested 3 meals a day, but for the sake of recommended daily allowances I was thinking of having a 4th meal. Good idea or not?

    Caloric and protein intake

I do a shake in the morning 5 oz. because when I go back to work in a week eating a breakfast will not be a routine for me, instead sipping on my breakfast will be. But that is a good idea to maybe take my meds with a shake.
  19. I took the recommended 6 weeks, great time to just focus on yourself and work on any kinks. I have a fast paced job with stress... So I am throughly enjoying it and glad I have short term disability to use.

    Calories at 6 weeks out

I just started a similar thread: 5 weeks out and 300 cal and 30-40 protein. ( I use my fitness pal as well). Thinking of eating 4x a day rather than just two.

    What is a "Slider" food?

Marfar7: how far out are you from having the surgery?
  22. I am a month out and I still can't do hard boiled or scrambled, even if it is made with egg beaters. I've never had an issue prior. A non sleeved friend told me she has always gotten heartburn with any type of egg. I just don't do any eggs anymore sad because I liked them.

    Hiccups and yawns

Am 4 weeks out and after I eat meat I yawn and sometimes hiccup. Anyone know why or have the same issue? Just curious.

    Hiccups and yawns

I can see how that would tie into being full, because meat is what fills me up and that is when I usually yawn. THANKS!

    Heartburn

Am one month out and when I eat solids ( no matter if it is ground, purred or chewed well) I always get heartburn. Anyone else have that issue and PLEASE tell me it will go away.
