You are fantastic!!!! 19 months out is different from people doing this at 3 to 6 weeks out.... Totally different story. Congrats on your bundle of joy and great mindset. -
WHat are some of your favorite foods that give some crunch besides veggies? I would like to find a " healthier" option to chips, but I sure am craving some hot air popcorn and/or Sunchips. I saw some quinoa chips, black bean chips.... But would like to know what is good ( and brand names too would be helpful). Thanks in advance.

My Dr recommended baby food MEATS during the mushy phase, however, with the amount you can eat, I just made/ put my meat in my mini chopper. I didn't care for baby food. I was on purred from weeks 3-5. -

I could have eggs at 3 weeks.... But they gave me such bad heartburn, but now at nearly 8 weeks out I may just try them again. Even tho they are soft, make sure you chew them well. I say give it a try, but listen to your tummy. -
What is the real point of this surgery?

Behavior changes is the biggest component to a successful weight loss.... Even after surgery people think that they can just eat the bad or unhealthy in moderation... Isn't that what got us in this predicament in the first place? Sleevers need to remember that just because you can eat something and " it goes down ok" you need to ask yourself: Do I NEED this ( piece of cake, bite of cracker...) because just because you CAN EAT IT without issues, doesn't mean you should. -

I am shaking my head.... Why oh why are you doing this to yourself? 6 weeks out? I can see MAYBE six months out... I really think you need to go to a support group and learn the proper things to eat since you are not grasping that you NEED and MUST change the way you treat food. I can't believe you would ( at ONLY six weeks) try cakes, bread, ice cream, pizza, chips, crackers ..... I am at a loss for words. Why oh why are you sabotaging yourself? Why do this to yourself so early out? I really hope you see nutritional support, because you are on a slippery slope. -
What is the real point of this surgery?

According to my Dr. 2/3 of Grehlin is in the stomach ( which is removed with surgery) and the other 1/3 is is the bowel with this surgery there is less chance of failure as complied to the band ( which at some point they won't even offer that as an option) and RNY has a higher risk of stretching out the stomach and as far as I know the RNY does not remove the hormone. -
I have at like 3 weeks out.... You may want to be careful during months 3-6 in case you have hair loss

Anybody else feel hungry often or am I the only weirdo
fuzzymonkey replied to TonyaNKy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 7 weeks out and I get 300 to maximum of 600 calories a day, usually I am at 400 a day with 35-50 grams of protein. My NUT said not to eat Snacks but I eat something with protein around 3pm and 7 or 8 pm.... Just an ounce or two tho. -

Soup and baked potatoes will do that ( soup is a slider) and potatoes are a carb ( makes you feel hungry). Even before surgery, eating soup always made me hungry an hour to two later. -

How do I keep carbs at a minimum at this point?
fuzzymonkey replied to TonyaNKy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fruit is naturally going to have higher carbs. What I ate/eat: yoplait fat free Greek yogurt (about 1/3 of the container), cottage cheese ( I go all out and buy the large curd) Jack Links jerky tenders ( high in salt, but I'm not going to worry- also only have 1oz at a time) the canned chicken by Tyson is GREAT and super soft. Any veggie if over cooked is great, but I was told to stat away from broccoli, peppers and lettuce until ....? I also LOVE string cheese- smoked is the best. Packed tuna... Different flavors too. I have found that going to the grocery store is beginning to be more fun, discovering foods that I can eat. Plus, I love cheese, so that helps too. You can also do thin sliced deli meats,,, roast beef with a piece of melted provolone on it and some horseradish.... Yum. Shrimp and white fish have lots of protein too. I also stay clear away from potatoes of any sort... Too starchy and full of carbs. Eating carbs make one crave carbs -

My NUT said calories don't matter ( I'm six weeks out, 500 cal a day and down 45 pounds) she said to focus on Protein, low cabs and Water. I too had a stall at week 3. -
How much could you eat 2 weeks post op?
fuzzymonkey replied to TonyaNKy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm six weeks out and the NUT was very disappointed because I ate a 1/2 of a banana "A BANANA SHOULD BT 5 MEALS WORTH!" Week three you are eating about 1/4cup of purred protein ( I.e. Meats, ff re fried beans). At six weeks out I am shocked at times when I can get 3 ounces in, but usually it is only 2ounces 3x a day with one snack. There is a little skin on beans, you have to worry about those little particles getting into your staple line and becoming infected.... Hence why only purred food. We all make mistakes, but try to sick to 1 to 2 ounces total for your meal until week 8 or beyond.
