Is there any Philly sleevers here, if so where did u guys get your surgery? And how far post op are u?
-
So yesterday was a bad day for me. I deviated from my diet and ate things I would never eat and it totally wasn't worth it. I had a bad of sour cream and onion chips then later that night I had a few handfuls of white cheddar cheese itz. I decided this morning that I was going to get up and prepare all my meals in advance for the week, including healthy snacks, which ironically I prefer and leaves me more confused to why I binged on junk yesterday. Anyway, I decided to reach out to u guys for support to keep me focus, please no negative remarks.

Thank u guys for words of encouragement. I am no longer beating myself up over a bag of chips and cheese itz lol.. If anything I needed that slip up day to get me refocused and see the importance of my long term goal. Thanks again! -
Anybody else tired of the attention?
sleeved215 replied to Sleeveless in seattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If someone compliment me on my weight loss, first I thank them then I follow up with, "I mean I look just as good now as I did before wls, just a healthier me!" Lol.. Of course I'll say it sarcastically so they don't really think I'm full of myself. But I say that to let ppl know, losing weight doesn't make me more beautiful, it makes me healthier and being fat don't automatically mean you aren't confident, no I was confident then and confident now!!' -
Officially HATE stalls lol.. This is my 2nd stall since surgery 4/29, first one lasting 2 weeks, this one 1 week so far and counting it seems. I'm never going to make it at my goal weight!!! Frustration is an understatement!

No weight loss since week 1
sleeved215 replied to kolodey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally understand your frustration! My first week out I lost 12lbs then nothing for 2 weeks then when I didn't expect it I lost 6lbs the 4th week, 4lbs the 5th week and 3lbs the 6th week, so the weight will come off! When I was dealing with my stall I assumed the surgery wasn't going to work for me but like everyone here suggesting, be patient! Good luck -
Weight gain panic?

Reach out to your nutritionist immediately. -
My surgeon told me that taking biotin to stop hair shedding is a MYTH. Yes it promotes healthy hair and nails but it doesn't make it grow.. I actually learned that in hair school too. Biotin makes ya hair stronger but doesn't promote growth but does wonders for nails.. To each it's own, I just plan on upping my protein which is wonders for hair and try to drink plenty of water which increases hair volume and shine... It's just so hard lol my sleeve don't be wanting it but I have to force it down
-
So I'm 5 wks post op and I'm noticing that my nails are breaking very easily. My nails are average length, maybe a little longer and lately they been breaking down to the skin! Ouch!! I was warned that your hair may shed, but I just found out that your nails may suffer as well. I'm not concerned too much because I know they will grow back but I'm curious is this a preview of what my hair will go thru. I can accept hair shedding but like anyone else I don't want to lose handfuls of hair!!!!

I wish for all of the above, so far from my reach now it all sounds almost unrealistic lol.. I know my day will come but these damn stalls are killing me, I'm on my second one!!! -
10 weeks post op - No desire to eat - normal?
sleeved215 replied to abbyabby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me not to count calories but to count protein and as long as I'm getting between 60-80 grams of protein a day then that's fine. Obviously avoid foods high in carbs and sugars but that's pretty much it. Every surgeon team/nut is different so if you are concern contact your nutritionist, they are paid to help you and answer all your questions so make them work!!! lol... But in the meantime, count your protein!!!! -
Regulated menstrual (tmi for some)
sleeved215 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed that since my surgery my menstrual appears to be regulating compared to pre surgery were I would get my menstrual ever 60+ days if I was lucky. The first week I dropped 12lbs and my menstrual came on shortly after. Since then I lost additional weight and this morning my menstrual came on again, making it a 29 day long cycle, which is considered normal. It's still early to indefinitely say, but I will be tracking it the next few months to see if their is a trend. Anyone else every experience irregular periods pre op and regulate post op? Please comment -
Any I the only person that feels like they literally have to force water down their throat, or any other beverages for that matter. I know I'm not getting enough water required daily but it's soooo hard. It's like the site of any beverage is a turn off! I can't stand the act of drinking and never crave or desire it.. Pleaseeee help lol

Thank god I finally broke my stall.. I started to feel like I will never lose another pound again! HW 296 SW 282 CW 263... I was stuck at 271 for about 2-3 weeks. My first week post op I lost 11lbs and was at 271 for 3 weeks and now at the end of my 4th week I'm finally at 263, scale please keep going down.

So I was told to always weigh yourself in the morning verses at night, at your heaviest and I honestly do both but what I have noticed is, I loss weight in my sleep, is this possible? Last night I weighed 263 even and this morning I weighed 261.8. Each time I weigh myself I always do it 2-3 times to make sure I'm getting the same amount and each time the scale said the same thing last night and this morning. Can someone really make sense of this for me please.

To the filthy liars who say cravings go away
sleeved215 replied to KittyChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems like your surgeon and nutritional team didn't properly prepare you. Your cravings never go away but ur will to stay healthy should over power the cravings. We are all human and make mistakes, just last week I purchased a bag of Cheetos myself lol. I ate about 6 of them and asked myself, is this bag of Cheetos worth sabotaging my weight loss? So as I was driving I rolled down my window on the express way and threw them out the window lol.. I rather have a ticket for littering than have gained the 33lbs I lost since HW on some damn chips! I had similar struggles but I always catch myself in the act and rectify the situation immediately. So I'm the last person to criticize you but what u will say if you depend on your sleeve solely to do all the work in your weight loss journey you WILL fail. The sleeve don't stop our decision, just the amount we can eat at one time but don't mean we still can't munch all day everyday, little at a time that sh!t adds up so please please please be mindful because I want you to succeed -
Panic! Gained 6 pounds
sleeved215 replied to Lynnheb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to be graphic but are you moving your bowels ok? I know a lot of PPL post op have bm issues and maybe in conjunction with water weight you are blocked up. I wouldn't panic, as long as you're following the plan it has to work! -
My surgeon didn't require me to go on a liquid diet and even post op, 1 week I was able to graduate to purée foods
-
I loved water pre op! Ever since I was younger I would prefer bottled water over other beverages, just was raised in that type if household of bottled water drinkers lol. So my issue with drinking water now isn't because of a lack of habit, it wasn't until post op when I started to have difficulties with getting in my requires amount.

Today marks my 1 month surgiversary and I am excited to be a part of the celebration crowd. I know it's only one month out compared to many of you that's months or even years out but I need to still celebrate my little victory lol. My HW 296 pre op 282 post op today 265. I wish I coulda lost at least 10 more pounds but hey it is what it is and I'm accepting of my journey and refuse to compare. I have never lost 31lbs in my life so imma take it and run with it lol.

That's great, how far post op are you and what are your stats

What I pack for lunch:
sleeved215 replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having the hardest time getting over 60gms of protein a day. If I had it my way I'll be in the 80-100gms a day. How are u guys able to get all your protein?
