Have you called your insurance company? I work for bc/bs and I know that there is a limit of 10k but only on travel expenses when using a blue distinction center. Also if the dr is par with your insurance then their contracted amt is usually a lot lower then 23000$. If you could call your ins and get your benefit breakdown I could explain it a little better to you. Believe me I know it could be crazy!

I never though I would ever see a girl interested in cars like that. I just sold my mini truck and am looking to buy another, but that's one thing my husband and I love to do together!

Who was your surgeon?

I'm working with Dr Rovito in Allentown at Leigh valley Hospital. I'm in the Scranton Pa area.

The company that I work for states that it could take up to 6 weeks for approval. I know that it is manually scanned into the system and manually reviewed by he medical review department. But...cross your fingers because I've seen them approved in a few days!!! Good Luck!!

I was denied the first time my doctor sent in more information and my mom, physical therapist, doctor, and I wrote a letter to the insurance company and the clinic then sent everything in and was approved the second time. Don't give up. Appeal tell they approve you fight for your future, and your life. I actually work for a health insurance company and I see all too often people that need the work done and procedure are being denied as "not medically necessary". I just want everyone to know, you all have the right for a 1st level appeal and a 2nd level appeal and peer to peer. These are just some things that will help to get your surgery approved.

My doc has a profram where you had to do things before you could schedule ur surgery... I pressed hard to get mine donw. I decided in october and we could schedule my appt in dec for Jan. I could have done it in dec but I waited til jan. I am really set on doing this before the summer is over so that I have some time off of work with my son home. I am crossing my fingers that all goes smoothly!

When did you start the process?

Its going to be well worth it! I was 304 5'2 in a tight 24 size pants. I am now in a very loose size 8, 6 is better but I feel my skin issues show in a six more than an 8. Try hard to break any old habits and you will get far! I know its the one thing that has helped me in my journey!! How long did it take from the time that you decided to do the surgery to the time that you scheduled your surgery?

Congrats on your huge accomplishment! I am meeting with my surgeon for the first time on May 27th and I am super excited. Do you have any advice that I can take along with me? I am 32 yrs old and 330lbs, I am sure that I have a long road ahead of me, but well worth it! Bobby Jo
