I did lose 55 pounds since i started all this. I lost the first 8 pounds because i had high blood pressure for the first time and he gave me a high blood pressure pill and it had a Water pill in it. Then when i went back in a month to get that checked i asked about the lap band. This is the first real diet i ever did and i was worried they wouldnt approve my band if i didnt apply myself. so i gave it my best shot and i lost. i lost 12 of the pounds in the past 10 days from the pre op diet. so now to answer your question i am now able to walk a mile and not feel like im gonna die. I do think i have some more energy than i did but still have to push myself to do things. and its easier to do things like clean my small bathroom i fit better when im on my knees scrubbing the floor. and im not exhausted when im done. but i am still 260 so im now where a lot of u have started. my highest was 315. I am only 5'2" tall my goals are to be 200 by my birthday in sept. to be able to do more and not feel like im gonna die would like to do more with my 9 year old daughter i would like my boobs to be bigger than my belly i want to go to a normal store and buy clothes I dont want to be embarrassed to go places i want to quit worring if my kids are embarrassed to be seen with me' i do not want to die of a heart attack What are your goals?

I go in tomorrow at 11 and surgery at 1. I also have been cleaning like a nut even did the kids rooms really good. Then I have threatened them that it better stay clean. I want to come home tuesday to all the dishes washed and the house clean as I plan on leaving it Monday morning. I'm afraid they will just lick the plates clean and put them back into the cuboards so they dont have to wash them. Pray for me that i really can walk into that hospital tomorrow and let them operate on me. I feel so scared of all that before stuff. I dont even worry about the pain or after problems. only 3 more days till surgery. I'm hoping my dr will call me and tell me i have done so well I can go out to eat at chilis and have all the chips and salsa I want. I am also from pennsylvania. I live in bedford county and will be banded at windber hospital. on my pre op diet i have 2 Protein drinks a day and a 350 calorie meal I really hate the Protein Drinks I really look forward to my meal. -
I'm still have 4 days till my surgery and im having this uneasy feeling in my chest. It's not really pain and I think I have it most of the day. Is this heart problems, just stress, heartburn? My guess it's probably stess from worring about this surgery what do you all think I should do?

I'm in line waiting to get my seat on the roller coaster. This better be the thrill of a lifetime cuz I've been waiting for a long time. I can remember being on a roller coaster and being scared for it to start. And thought about getting off at the last minute but I never did get off I just kept telling myself all these other people have been on it and no one has been hurt so I can do it too. So I held on tight and went for the ride. Back then I was too embarrassed to tell my friends how scared i was. But the older I get I voice my feelings more.

I want to thank all those who has been telling about their experience. I am day 8 on the pre op diet. I still think the Protein shakes are nasty. I've been drinking the Isopure some too just to have something different. I really am not all that hungry but I miss eating and going out to eat. I have lost 50 pounds so far from my highest weight and still have about 125 more to lose. My surgery date is next monday March 17th. I am very scared of surgery I hope I can really walk into that hospital and let them operate on me. I'm worried I'll end up crying and the dr will tell me to grow up and go home. Hope to be talking to you all more. I could use some banded computer friends. Rhonda from pennsylvania

I've been doing the protein drinks for 6 days now i think they are nasty but i just guzzle then down they keep me from being hungry for about 3 hours or so. I bought some of the liquid isopure didn't ask the dr about them but they are high in protein and no carbs or fat. Bought then at gnc they are around $5.00 for 20 oz but the store had a few flavors on sale because they were gonna be expired in a month or so. They are also nasty but a different nastiness then the power protein that you add to liquid and mix. So I said all that to say this you can make it. I just count down the days after I finish each one. My surgery date is March 17. So only 7 more days of this then I can move on to the next level. I feel like this is my punishment for being fat.

send on the ice cream im alreay sick of protein shakes and its only been 2 days. my son told me to add protein powder to a mcdonalds milk shake think the dr will approve?

I'm not enjoying them protein drinks at all! I bought the unjury ones and so far tried strawberry and chocolate. I just guzzle them down as fast as I can and get them over with. I am allowed to eat one 350 calorie meal a day now that I enjoyed very much. Only 12 more days of this.

I am scared about being put to sleep and having the operation done. Dr Marley in Windber is my surgeon. I really do like him. I just had my 5th dr appt on thursday so only one more visit then the fun of waiting to see if insurance will really cover me.

We have snow today what I hate most about it is that we have a satilite dish for internet and the snow knocks us out. I live right on the mountain where the big curve is by the rocking chair place. I think we always have more snow than the windber/ richland area. I did not go to the support group meeting I thought about it but wasnt sure if i had to tell them I was coming and i waited to long to call so I didn't go. I only have went to the one in september when dr vizza was the speaker. Do you enjoy them? I went to my 5th dr appt today only one more to go then its the waiting game to see if i'm even approved for surgery. I really hate not knowing. I guess in a way I might be relieved if im not approved this is so scary for me. I have lost 30 pounds on my own since this summer but I know diets really dont work so I need a fix so I don't have to worry about gaining it back. I think I'm just a mess and don't know what I want.

Steph we just moved to Alum Bank bedford county. Actually I met you at the support group back around september you gave me the address for LBT. Im hoping to be banded around march if all goes well with insurance and if I dont chicken out. Right now I'm pretty nervous about the operation. Any one have any ideas on how I can get past my fears about surgery? I dont mind being in my 40's I hated my childhood so never want to do that over again. I'll be happy to weigh less and have more energy and be able to do more things so I can enjoy my 40's to the fullest.
