I drink on the weeknds and was sleeved 5/12/14. I did notice that if I had a glass of wine during the week that would put me at a stall, so now I sometimes just drink on a friday or saturday. To me to each is own!! Good luck

Hi guys I know this is a really gross topic lol. But ever since I had the surgery which was 2 weeks ago tomorrow, all I do is spit. I seem to have a ton of mucus in my mouth so, whenever I drink anything it eventually comes back up. I mean it's so bad that I run through at least 3 water bottles full of just spit and sometimes acid. Is this normal ? Is anyone else experiencing this ? I showed my surgeon and he looked at it as if everything is okay and I hate it . HELP PLEASEEE !

I am in dire need of a surgery buddy too lol. I am almost 3 months though and I also live in abilene. It's really hard going through this and I've had so many questions along the way, it would be nice to have a friend that has or is going through what I'm going through you know ?

I am getting more and more frustrated. I had surgery 5/12 my hw was 267 and I am currently 232. I'm feeling so discouraged and im wondering maybe my slow loss is due to what I'm eating or not eating. Can you guys help me out please, any ideas and tips are helpful & I'd really appreciate it . I'm also going to the gym a minimum of 2 times a week sometimes 4. Thanks everyone #

And I know ppl are saying it's because of eating too fast but I spit even when I didn't eat or drink it was just all of the time !

I had this same exact issue. It was sp had that I had to constantly have a spit cup with me wherever I went because saliva was ALWAYS coming up. What I can tell you is that it will pass I promise you. I was about a month and a half out before it stopped all the way thank god lol. But I understand how you are feeling but jst know it does stop eventually ! :) just keep looking forward it only gets better from here !!

Okay that's good to know. That's what I am going to do. The hardest part of this surgery is that not only is my body changing but I have to constantly work on changing my mind and my outlook on food. Which is hard since I have a food addiction. This is when I wish I had gone through a counselling session pre op to get my mind ready for this humongous change. Thank you all for the advice it is very much appreciated :)

Okay thank you guys a lot !!! I was really worried but, like you all said it's all in my mind and I'll try to focus on the positive ehich is loosing instead of gaining which was happening lol. I'm heading to the store now for more protein filled food. Thanks alot guys :)

I am glad I'm not alone. I was sleeved may 12th but have only lost 35 lbs! It's killing me that this is taking so long but I have to remember would I rather drop weight fast and loose muscle mass or slowly loose weight and gain muscle at the same time. Are you ladies working out ?

Okay guys I have no acquired a horrible mucus problem with this surgery. Each time I drink anything I either spit it up or I'm constantly spitting up the mucus. I've tried one protein shake and was only able to get maybe 4 sips in, in between me spiting it up. I've called my surgeons nurse who said since my surgeon repaired a hernia it can take me almost an entire month to a month and a half to feel better. I am so pissed off and frustrated with this entire process. I mean obviously ppl loose weight when their basically starving there body and that's what I'm doing ! My question is has anyone been though anything like this? I don't know what to do at this point.

There a a lot of smoking discussion boards. So if you don't receive the answers your wanting I would definitely suggest you search for other smoking boards there are tons out there for post op. Good luck

What do you do, or has anyone ever regretted getting this sleeve? I am 8 days post op and I feel myself slipping into a depression wishing I wouldn't have ever started this journey. I really hate feeling this way and my husband feels bad that I'm so upset all of the time. Help please any advice or encouragement is more than welcome !!!

Wow I'm so happy it isn't just me! I am a week post op today and I seriously wake up miserable . I can't keep anything down, I'm ALWAYS spitting (like I'm doing chewing tobacco), & I too have the same feeling in my chest ! I just tried eating a few bites of a creamy soup and I ended up in a throw up spazam for 5 minutes and now I'm literally shaking ! I have my appointment with my surgeon on Thursday and believe me if they had my old stomach on stand by I would be the first person to have it re-attached ! I am so over this ! I apologize for the rant btw lol !

I really need some advice guys ! I'm 4 days post op and at this point I still can not keep ANYTHING down no matter how many nausea pills I take or ant-acid pills (bith barely go down). I am now at the point of shaking, sleeping only an hour at a time and I bent down to grab my phone and I fell over. Is this normal, has anyone else felt like this a few days post op? The Dr's office told me to suck sf popsicles those help I'm seriously wanting to just turn myself into the ER and I am really wishing I had never done this stupid surgery. Help please I feel so alone and out of my own body

Since they surgey I have yet to be able to keep anything down water, broth pain pills nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm in so much pain it's unreal

No I was discharged yesterday. And even with the nausea meds that doesn't help me keep anything down.

That is my surgery date too ! I am soo anxious and excited and nervous all at the same time ! I was just thinking oh no no more margaritas and shrimp tacos at the same time . But to better my health that is just a sacrifice I will have to make . Good luck on your surgery sending prayers your way!

Hey guys what's everyone's favorite protein drink ? Okay maybe favorite isn't the best word since I know we are all probably very tired of the shakes and ready for some real food lol. I'm day 3 of my pre op and my surgey is on May 13th

Hey y'all I have a serious problem. So I'm supposed to start my 1 week pre op diet today. So yesterday I go to Wal-Mart and pick up the Whey Protein shake and choose the vanilla flavored. Well today as I'm looking at the sheet my nutritionist gave me apparently I was supposed to get a non flavored protein shake UGH ! My question is how bad is it if I just used the vanilla flavored? Had anyone else made this same mistake or do I just take it as a loss and go buy another shake and keep this one for later?? Help please thanks everyone
