Sleeved 7/22 and back to work today and volunteering after. I am pooped.

Im almost done with two week liquid preop diet. As much as I hate it there are benefits. I am learning how to make the shakes ...which blender how much water and ice etc. First couple of tries sucked nothing like a clumpy shake yuck. So now its like a habit I can make it without paying attention. Plus it helps to explain weight loss to coworkers that im not telling my business to. I think it will help me be used to the deprivation of clear liquids and gradual return to eating food. And I feel healthier, can walk farther. I think recovery will be slightly better as a result.

You know... im 160 pounds overwieght because I haven't followed logic. Didnt get here by making logical choices. So to say why would you...? Well because im an addict thats why. All anyone can do, is do their best. I havent been perfect preop but am down 15 pounds or so in a week with a couple days to go.

Yes I agree as I have lost 15 pounds on first week of preop. Loss is slowing down but dr scale shows 8 pounds of that is FAT that is GONE and i wont let it come back!! One week til surgery

Oh girl im on day three and just cant choke down more sickly sweet shakes. Gross. Need this two week hell to be over. But its all worth it and its giving me tjme to think about why my cravings are happening and how to deal with them. Im not hungry now the shakes are very filling.

Lol candypants youre a hoot. Last flight I took I noticed that when I wore denim shorts I fit better than when I wore a dress. So wear spanx on the way to Mexico lol but on the way home you wont want tight pants

Yes self pay does allow whatever we want. I worry that we wont be as prepared for it. My surgery will be 3 months after initial visit so its not so so quick.

Grrr. Was told this week due to barretts esophagus I cant have the sleeve and am leery of the bypass due to its reputation of being dangerous. Researched it and now my chief worries are hospital readmission because im self paying and the possibilities of dumping or incontinence. Sounds unpleasant. However getting out of my car today I heard the plastic on the side of the seat snap. How embarassing and thankful no one was there to hear it. That put me over the edge. Will talk to surgeon about bypass this week. How common is dumping and (God forbid) fecal incontinence?

I was scheduled for the sleeve then thought I would have to do the bypass... now back to sleeve. July 22...start liquid diet Tuesday. Starting to get slightly nervous not about surgery as much as pre op willpower

Wow he is Hot! Lol but his name is pronounced House so hes just following in the footsteps of his television namesake. Lol I think anyone can make a mistake. It takes so few drinks to be legally impaired. However i agree with someone else who said his mind is going to be occupied with thoughts of these issues and I wouldnt want him as my surgeon right now. Boy toy maybe. Surgeon no.

Sooooexcited. Three weeks to go. Am at surgeons office right now to discuss switch from sleeve to bypass due to gerd. Im almost all researched out and just ready to get it done. Best of luck to all of you having surgery this week. Xoxo
